  1. I would probably lean to the Banner of the Maid. The units are individuals (which makes them easier to track) - the Battle Worlds is more complex and is a longer campaign. And there are some sorta quests to do in Banner (mostly looking for objects on some of the battlefields). So depends on what you prefer. The units in Banner progress and there is a very limited upgrade system in Battle Worlds. (If you go with Banner I can give you one hint if you plan to play the plus version later and get the dlc content (part of which is free and part of which is like $5.) Not a spoiler per se but something you will need and you have no way of knowing it until it is way too late. Fell Seal is worth a look also - has an amazing amount of customization via job skills - somewhat wasted since you can only have a few characters active at one time. Fangamer is releasing Into the Breach as a physical - that one looks really good so I pre-ordered it. I didn't really like the Tiny Metal stuff all that well - not a big fan of fog of war especially on really small fields. (Battle Worlds is fog of war also but the battlefields are huge - which makes a big difference.)
  2. You might want to look at Battle Worlds Kronos - not a fantasy/rpg game but a pretty straight forward tactics game - you have to pay attention since the maps are big and the battles long - so if you screw up you likely have to start over. Banner of the Maid is also interesting - very much an elaboration of the early Shining Force style in games. And yeah - Wargroove was a blast.
  3. More than a person ever wanted to know about Spam.
  4. NIS America is bringing these three titles out - so far apparently just limited (or deluxe) editions so a bit pricey - but NIS stuff is so nice.. https://www.nisamerica.com/monster-menu/ https://nisamerica.com/grimgrimoire/ https://nisamerica.com/process-of-elimination/
  5. This is available for pre-order at Signature Edition Games:
  6. I just finished this this morning: And I started this: Two of my favorite urban fantasy series!
  7. You won't light up my life! https://news.yahoo.com/chesapeake-bay-lighthouse-auction-far-121524783.html They may as well paint it white and put ears, a tail and a trunk on it.......
  8. This is scary - and I wonder how many EVs will wind up with the same story as the battery technology changes. https://news.yahoo.com/fact-check-dealership-quoted-30-205552471.html
  9. This might appeal to some folks here - not my cup of tea since I am not into obscure consoles. But it looks interesting if one is of that frame of mind. https://premiumeditiongames.com/products/video-game-console-collectors-field-guide-hardcover-book
  10. And there he kept her very well!
  11. I have actually had really good results at abebooks - some times there does seem to be a bandwagon effect (well if someone else is asking a ridiculous price it is ok for me too do it also.... go figure). For common stuff I often find things below ebay prices (it always surprises me how ebay sellers will want more for a used book than it goes for new on Amazon). I always check all three sources (along with a couple of others at times) before popping for something (if I do). I really miss halfprice.com.
  12. I was thinking of taking a road trip to Canada - just kinda see what I would run into!
  13. If you aren't familiar with it you might want to check abebooks. Their shipping charges are usually in line for media mail rates.
  14. Did you play The Last Campfire? I really liked it - mostly exploration with a bit of light puzzle solving - only one puzzle that is at all hard.
  15. Yay - the CE of Zombies Ate My Neighbors has shipped - supposed to be here on Wednesday. There is joy in Mudville!
  16. This looks it might provide a light hearted diversion - releases at LRG tomorrow:
  17. This is up for grabs at Super Rare Games: There are two versions - I just now ordered the collector's edition since it has a lotta nice feelies in it. They are anticipating high demand so are likely going to release a second offering which won't ship until October. This first batch they have on hand - one of the reasons I really like Super Rare Games is because of this way of doing things! Edit - they initially were going to make 850 collector's editions. When they opened the orders up they listed 1500 being available and now have upped the number to 2000. They do have a waiting in line checkout - since I got in really early I was in line less than a minute.
  18. Blood Simple is really good if you have not seen it - tends to be somewhat overlooked since it was their first film.
  19. I once had a package that didn't show up (this was in the days before tracking was widely used) - I got an email reply from the seller saying that his (i assume former by that time) girlfriend was supposed to be taking the packages to the post office - he gave her the shipping costs. I did get a refund but I wonder what the hell the miscreant was doing with the packages. And a seller once had a stack of packages stolen while he was carrying part of them into the post office - didn't get his window smashed since he had conveniently left the door unlocked.
  20. This is a new one - early in July I ordered a switch game off of ebay. Tracking was provided and showed that it got to the Denver distribution center on July 8th. And according to the tracking it has not moved. I did go to the post office and asked them - they supposedly called the distribution center and said there was a problem with the address - which if true I could have provided the right one. I think they just couldn't be bothered to deal with it. I did email the seller and ask them to try track it from the origin post office. The only response I got was that tracking showed it was still being delivered. I recently notified ebay that I still hadn't gotten it - the seller then responded again that the tracking showed it was being delivered. So I escalated it and asked ebay to step in. I am sure the seller would just like me to accept the idea it is in transit until the point is reached where I can't get a refund - no thanks!!!! Update - this was quick - I posted this right after I notified ebay and they issued me a refund!
  21. I once offered $35 on a $40 item which hadn't sold in forever. Probably because it was overpriced by, say, about $5. The seller cleverly countered with a $39.99 offer. Why bother with accepting offers if you can't deal with legit ones - they could have just as easily declined the offer without the cheekiness.
  22. You are indeed welcome - I want to know more about it - if it looks good I will go with whatever I can get.
  23. Still pretty preliminary but this cyberpunk rpg looks like it could be good - the art style looks pretty intriguing. It is supposed to be coming out for the switch in mid September - no word (although it is still early) on a physical.
