  1. Heh - way back when I had a mail order laserdisc seller quit selling to me because he said I always somehow bamboozled him when I bought stuff that was below market value - despite the fact that I never haggled and always paid the prices that he listed. The dumb thing was that for common stuff I was willing to pay the going price and save on combined shipping. I think he was mostly offended that I knew the market much better than he did. ------------------------------ As for the video store owner I suspect that these business "practices" will eventually catch up to him when he doesn't get much return business.
  2. I recently finished a third play through of "Banner of the Maid". I loaded up the plus version of the game - and the changes they make for that make the game quite a bit different.
  3. I just started a new (to me anyway) urban fantasy series - "Love, Lies and Hocus Pocus" by Lydia Sherrer - it is a 7 book series with a couple of novellas - I just started the second one and I am liking it so far.
  4. Believe it or not but some record albums used to come with paper bonuses. One of my favorites was this one from "I-Feel-Like-I'm-Fixin'-To-Die" by Country Joe and the Fish - released in 1967. I have one framed in a metallic blue frame. Here is the title song from the album:

  6. Some of the various releases of Miracle Warrion in Japan came with a pewter figure and a cloth map in nice outer boxes. Here is a famicom one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284892057502?hash=item4254e3cf9e:g:rkwAAOSwse5iJwAJ&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsAsdtew3Ln7sVFHe00K7BuPLjE63l%2FsC44zr%2F%2Fzdc4EZGL3Z1UbiLEIBOpj%2BJYvvLZ5XIJ9FjFzuIyIcRbcbxA0B%2BOl6CF%2BL2OHjJWYfN0NtOZyT1qyNP%2BPNvCMtK7%2Fitmg%2FLibieDZkT0NgRakrzhCbBfKcJvV7bhCswyb2pgoWdarXVslzBZ41t8k62Utz7bnMhdUnQijvZ2sOq8xBosBcnIhBQBrquAvZf5J%2FvGqE|tkp%3ABk9SR6Su1KbWYA Some of the Fleet Commander for the Famicom came with little blue and green plastic ships and airplanes. This one is way way overpriced but does show the blue fleet still sealed and attached to the sprue. https://www.ebay.com/itm/313941572033?hash=item49186039c1:g:ssgAAOSwL39iSYkt&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAsCYB7pU%2BVDHOHLu5pXrNXfsp3hDP4cVFE3Pm7dj09vU%2FSXlW0hidkv0YV8qjFQdUPEP%2BDXzJ2fRtUubkYESNkfVd9%2F022dqsnHclaAhUlOGKr0xSsx4SgdM%2B1rBb0DeYChDbgCDTt694YxJRBpVKY532iYgAQwJFKJch2sL8wcy4o%2FrXNp%2Fdtb737rFV65hBzvwBnPiLYBafglyOsVncLHnD3NOjuCpV2fQXnT54fpm%2B|tkp%3ABk9SR7qi9qbWYA Here is one of my faves - a Combat Choro Q gameboy that came with a little tank. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234595489896?hash=item369efb1868:g:TVEAAOSwyEhfZ5gw&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAAoHgCkdSPDq%2BmNkkeIVoqLJHH6jgDkE3q3mvMJUGz2Ml1PHiMt5hiKW6JCzq8v%2F2fOfu0Q5tH0tUQPl57QUfyHptWOwYPRvl%2FbGOUGoRqQye3HqSO7UEziFtBzHpddmhkteap6UhU%2BRP5lS3idOvy46A3lBzhgJAqz4lFHSpCi5%2B7xJhSYSHyMIMSWGrNkmuYZLuSluT6WxkmFVOTfiis%2BM4%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR4L0l6fWYA

  8. I really find these sorts of things very fascinating. This shipwreck from WWII was recently discovered: https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2022/7/worlds-deepest-shipwreck-found-almost-7-km-beneath-the-waves-710330#:~:text=It is just over a,21%2C222 ft) below the surface. It was sunk in 1944 when a much larger Japanese force threatened the light forces guarding the Leyte invasion fleet. As usual the Japanese had set up a very elaborate plan where they offered their remaining aircraft carriers as bait to lure the bulk of the US fleet away from the landing support vessels - this time their plans worked and the Japanese almost succeeded until the admiral commanding that force inexplicably withdrew.
  9. It just depends on the edition IMHO - many of them aren't worth the money but some are pretty nice (according to one's tastes of course) - the Sam and Max editions, Brigandine, Dark Crystal Tactics, the Return of the Obra Din and (especially) Thimbleweed Park are some good examples of nice ones. Zombies Ate My Neighbors looks great too - although it hasn't shipped yet (it is finally lurking in their warehouse though).

  15. I did read some reviews of it - mostly favorable. It is a crowded field so not everything can get noticed.
