  1. Watched the interview video. Solid stuff! I'll probably make an account and subscribe in the near future, even though I mainly have European releases and very rarely sell games. This kind of project deserves the support and will hopefully grow into its full potential.
  2. 10 > 4 > 9 > 3 > 5 > 11 > 2 > 6 > 1 > 7 > 8
  3. December Dreamin' Pulled the trigger on missing Xenoblade CEs (I might get the Wii edition with a red controller one day, or I may not): Praey for the Gods Kickstarter rewards: Black Friday splurge from Coolshop: Black Friday splurge from Bazaar Bazaar (the Dark Souls bag and keychain were surprise freebies): Double the fun with Cotton: More limprint shmimprint: First purchase from Amazon in years: Another cultured visual novel: And lastly a banger vinyl for the spin:
  4. Graded items CIB/Sealed could degrade in their casings, so the grade is a condition snapshot not necessarily indicative of the current condition of the game outwardly or inwardly. Love me some Schrödinger's cat
  5. Well writing faster is generally just some time saved, so no need to sweat it unless it's a job requirement. To answer the topic title, I would consider 80 and above WPM good and that would probably mean a calm and measured touch typing speed. My WPM is like 80-150 depending on the text complexity. I touch type with 5 fingers from my left hand (non-dominant) and 2 fingers (index and middle) from my right hand (dominant). Never "practiced" it in any official way, it's just from years and years of PC usage and gaming. I have a mechanical QWERTY keyboard: HyperX Alloy FPS with Cherry MX Blue switches, so kinda heavy to type with.
  6. Plenty of data already exists for US NES - it can be an issue of approval from authors of merging/migrating (due to potential copyright) into a VGS database but at the very least these threads can be used for checking validity of posts purporting to game release contents of certain variants. A database can start with a slow build-up while working out the kinks but it definitely shouldn't be bottlenecked for too many years or people might never get the full benefit of the database existing to begin with.
  7. I went on https://nesguide.com/ and went by publisher (so name should be on the art). I even included 1 game companies - couple aftermarket publishers and Japan only ones were in the mix too. I'm not gonna fact check anything, if something is wrong with the site's data. List inside spoiler to save space.
  8. Just quickly looking at Genesis section and there's already bad data: Key Titles - Street Fighter II Turbo - doesn't exist on the platform, on Genesis there are: Street Fighter II': Special Champion Edition AND Super Street Fighter II Claiming a number of cases and presenting them but missing something so simple as Capcom embossed clamshell case (that was just one quick example I knew from the top):
  9. Thanks. SLG/ININ have been going ham with the Cotton for sure, 5 releases with different editions, or 7 if you count the Cotton 100% SNES and Panorama Cotton MD reproductions (I passed on the repros, like I generally do). Anyway I couldn't tell you whether to sell or keep the Cotton Fantasy CE but either choice is good one. OSTs are cool, Nendoroid is pretty unique figure/toy for a Western release of anything and they're all done by the same company (Good Smile Company), that is to say it's a quality product (they're like 40-60$ to buy new at retail before shipping/handling/tax), if you're fan of a character, and the other stuff is decent too, especially the cup if you use it. I've loved Wonder Boy series since childhood, played through Wonder Boy in Monster World only back then though, I also like how the first game spawned Adventure Island series, very different style between the action RPGs and brutal timer platformer but both styles are good. So yeah Mega CE with MD console styled box was really cool, even with all the delays and shenanigans with SLG/ININ, I think they do a mean job with the finished products and the value propositions aren't too far fetched compared to something like LRG, especially now with the assblasting shipping/taxes to Europe, which has put me off of them now for the most part.
  10. November Nestling I was eyeing this edition for any price drops for over a year before pulling the trigger and it finally arrived. Bayonetta is love. A cultured visual novel uncensored at last Crazy on Cotton. Misc. arrivals. And more banger vinyls.

  12. Hime's Quest shipping to Finland would be 40$ before value added tax (24% added to item+shipping price) from Crunchyroll and I like orange cart better, so probably skipping this on principle. LRG would be 13.XX$ shipping and similar amount for pre-paid taxes, so cheaper than Crunchyroll shipment before taxes. It does seem like a generic GB Studio project anyway but I tend to like GB(C) top down endeavors, even if they're on the lazier side. Unfortunate.

  16. Living in PAL territory I can easily say that f.ex. (not in specific order of importance): 1. NTSC-U/NTSC-J games are superior with their 60Hz game speed on older consoles (unless the game is specifically optimized to run at the same speed on PAL TV). 2. PAL NES has this stupid PAL A and PAL B divide. 3. So many good exclusives around the world, filling gaps in series you like or just being great one-offs. 4. Affordability. 5. Better art and/or manuals - like compare PAL Mega Drive vs JPN Mega Drive cover art + manual. 6. Meaningful version differences between regions. My passion/derangement to collect multiple versions of some games on some platforms goes beyond those sensible reasons and I think it's just "cool" to own that stuff, not for monetary value, I just want to collect what I want to collect - like all of the Korean games I own would be among the last to leave my collection if I ever had to sell, which I barely ever do anyway. Let's be honest that while video games have the function of gameplay interaction, in physical form they are luxury items that no one really needs, especially if they're willing to resort to digital releases, emulation or clone hardware - at least no one needs them complete in box to play and when it goes beyond playing, anyone could enjoy the art/history appreciation aspect. Sure it might feel bad, if you are after games in your region and people with no connection to the history scoop them up and make them harder/impossible for you to get, but I still rather wish that "real" collectors scoop them up over any speculators just wanting to flip them down the road - historical connection or not. But even after all fairness or lack thereof I can't tell what others feel about things they own or covet, I sure as hell feel a lot about my Korean stuff for example and that is with no historical connection to it other than "damn cool that it even exists" and so forth.
  17. October Oomph! Another great MD rental and a very cool Swedish variant of Thunder Force II. Quote from Sega Retro: "The Swedish version shown below has an interesting story behind it. The distributor in the Nordic countries was Playmix/BRIO, famous for its classic wooden toys and unharmful playthings. This is the first and probably last time they used censorship on a game. The missiles on this early game's front were considered too violent and the picture was replaced by the ship from the Japanese version instead. After they mixed it together, they simple photographed it and printed it on Fujicolor paper (can be seen on the back of the inlay). This version is therefore fairly common in Sweden." Here's picture of the backside of the inlay from my copy: Limprint stuff as always (yeah I'm a sucka that kept buying console variants of Retro City Rampage DX, at least I didn't start with Shakedown Hawaii after getting the Vita version): Poruka oruka? Poruka oruyo! And a couple of banger VGM vinyls from national video game day discounts:

Marko's Magic Football Mortal Kombat 3 Operation Starfi5h Ottifants, The OutRun Pengo Power Drive Power Strike II Schtroumpfs, Les Schtroumpfs autour du monde, Les Sega Game Pack 4 in 1 Sensible Soccer: European Champions Sonic 2 in 1 Striker Super Kick Off Superman: The Man of Steel Tarzan: Lord of the Jungle Tintin au Tibet Ultimate Soccer Wizard Pinball Wolfchild Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap
  21. Konami has some of the best IPs, so I'm naturally disappointed with the path they took. Even though they're making a lot of money, it's unfortunate that they stopped caring about their video game division. They went from an industry titan into something completely different and it's not like they couldn't have somewhat kept up with Capcom in the video game world, if they cared more. Big boss salute and rest in peace.
