  1. They are legendary, but I can't really listen to them much anymore. Their lyrics would definitely not get a pass in this day and age (ie, A Bitch Iz A Bitch), but a few songs still stand out. Express Yourself is the one that hooked me and Fuck Tha Police is just a classic.
  2. Just to satisfy my own curiosity, since I honestly know nothing about MtG: Would a complete alpha set be worth more? I would assume so, but how much more?
  3. Go ahead and laugh, but I love Antiques Roadshow almost as much as Grandma's Boy's granny. I have it set to record along with another show called Collector's Call hosted by Blair from Facts of Life. I just like seeing rare and weird things appraised I guess. Anyways I was watching AR the other night and a woman brought in her husband's Magic the Gathering collection. What the actual fuck?? I don't play but I did know some cards like Black Lotus are rare worth a lot. I certainly didn't expect this! I thought I would share the clip below. Who has that kind of money AND who is ever going to use these in play? It would be like paying $20k to obtain an uber-rare Uno card just so you can slap down a Draw Four Hundred wild card on your astonished opponent! Yea that's right, I just compared MtG to Uno!
  4. Hi friends, I'm looking for a Neo Geo CD controller in clean, working condition and would prefer to buy from someone in the US to avoid any postal delays. Thanks in advance!
  5. This sounds like a major red flag to me. Sure, people can be unexpectedly nice but refunding $300 for no real reason seems very fishy.
  6. Pretty much have this one memorized. Great movie!
  7. Duke Togo hooking up with Cherry Grace in Golgo 13 was pretty awesome!
  8. It's an almost 20-year-old game that's already physically available on more than one console. Not intending to troll, but why the excitement? Just eager to buy it... again?
  9. I actually saw Huey Lewis and the News with my aunts when I was in 3rd grade (my first ever concert). I remember waiting to get in for HOURS, that we had seats on the 2nd or 3rd row and that I came home with a t-shirt which I proudly rocked at school. We all loved the album Sports but jeez I haven't thought of ole Huey in many years. He always seemed more like your Little League coach than a rock star.
  10. Heads up to everyone! GDQ is going on this weekend to raise money for coronavirus relief. I love pleasant surprises! I know what I'll be watching all weekend https://gamesdonequick.com/
  11. A toughie! On one hand, I do feel that everyone should see They Live at least once because of what it's trying to say. On the other hand, there is some supremely cheesy dialogue and painful moments (like the overly long fight scene when trying to get Frank to put on the Hoffman lenses) that will turn some people away. So I went with 7/10. I always liked that Roddy Piper's character's name is never given in the film, only listed as Nada in the credits.
  12. Not my personal favorite but they were pretty good. Hard to imagine the 90's without Blood Sugar Sex Magic.
  13. Great transaction with Ice Man and would gladly buy from again. Excellent all the way around. Thanks!
  14. MK64 all the way. Why is this even a poll??
  15. I definitely remember the first CD I ever heard. Sometime around 1987 or 88, my cousin got a Discman for his birthday with 1 CD: New Kids on the Block. We all hated NKOTB (my aunt had picked it out) but damn we listened to it over and over and over because it just sounded so GOOD!
  16. Is Golden Axe Warrior actually the same for US and EU only with a US UPC sticker? That doesn't seem right to me, but I don't have the game in front of me at the moment. I thought it was just Sonic, Spider-Man and Strider that got the UPC sticker treatment for US? ETA: My mistake. I knew it had a "tall" manual vs. a "sideways" one and thought only US games got tall manuals. I didn't realize the PAL versions had the same style manual. Also, great list - thanks!
  17. Donnie Darko is one of my top shelf choices. I love everything about this movie. The songs Head Over Heels and Notorious never had such an impact! It's probably the best thing that Jake G, Patrick Swayze and Drew Barrymore ever worked on (in their respective careers). And honestly, looking at some of the responses in this thread, sometimes I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion. I would say it doesn't TRY to be profound, it IS profound if you bother to take the time to really pay attention. The full Director's Cut is the one to watch if you want extra bits of info that help explain the series of events. Also, this fan site has a great write-up about it. Whether you love it or hate it, watch it again! http://www.donniedarko.org.uk/explanation/
  18. It sounds like she's not interested in any genre... yet! I mean, if SMB and Tetris doesn't at least pique her interest, she might be a lost cause. Who doesn't love SMB?? I almost hate to recommend it, but my wife and stepson used to play a lot of Minecraft together. It has a way of sucking you in. Or, she might take to something like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley. You never know what someone will like!
  19. If Frogger doesn't work, you might be out of luck! Ms. Pac-Man would be a good choice too. Start with the classics, but not Galaga or Robotron or anything where you have to shoot or attack (which can turn some women away). Think Snafu, Frog Bog, Mouse Trap, stuff like that. Good luck! ETA: what platform(s) are you on? If we're talking modern consoles, something you two can play together like Overcooked or Snipperclips might be up her alley.
  20. I'm not an expert and don't mind being corrected, but I was going from GameFAQs which shows NA release dates for those above. Is GameFAQs wrong on all these? Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties [Link] Gene Troopers [Link] Jelly Belly: Ballistic Beans [Link] M&M's Adventures [Link] ... ETA: scratch this one, it does seem to be unreleased on PS2 (all regions) per this Wikipedia page: [Link] World Racing 2 [Link] Worms Blast [Link]
  21. Thank you for this list @ALLKAPS! Holy jeebus there are a lot of PS2 games! I found your list very handy and spent some time comparing it against my own list which I made from Wikipedia's NA game list. I've found some errors and omissions (which may have been corrected on Wikipedia by now) and I'd be happy to share it after give it another proofread. It's in a checklist format (boxes for disc, manual, box) with titles cleaned up and organized, and publisher listed. I also choose to include the major collections like Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, Mortal Kombat Kollection, Onimusha: The Essentials, etc. There are several of the "3-pack" collections on PS2 which would be good to have as an addendum list. I'll work on double-checking those as well. I may have found a few titles you seem to have missed in your "Black Label" list above: .Hack Part 4 - Quarantine DICE: DNA Integrated Cybernetic Enterprises Garfield's A Tail of Two Kitties Gene Troopers Jelly Belly: Ballistic Beans M&M's Adventures World Racing 2 Worms Blast
  22. Can't help with any info, but it looks pretty cool. Thanks for sharing it!
  23. I'm not typically a guitar rock kinda guy, but there is something truly amazing about Pink Floyd. Sure, their music tapered off in the 80s but they will always be legendary. The Discovery box set is one of my treasured music possessions, right up there with the Beatles Stereo box set from 2009. 9/10 for me.
  24. I admit I loved Joe's video with the Carole Baskin lookalike feeding scraps of meat to the tigers. Fucking insane!
  25. Picked up an SNES game and everything went perfectly. Arrived really quickly as well. Thanks again!
