  1. Hey Megan! I wasn't around when you were active, but I'm familiar with you from reading the old contest threads. We're both big fans of Marble Madness. I hope you take part in the weekly contests next year.
  2. I was mainly only posting there for the weekly contest and that has been moved over here. I'm still staying logged in for the time being but it is dead.
  3. Gutsman last played in the Kabuki Quantum Fighter contest a few months ago, but he only posted a score of 300. No idea if he'll sign up over here.
  4. She was quite active in the contests for a few years and then *poof* disappeared. I think 2012 was when she last competed.

    Leg Washing

    I always stand to wipe.
  6. I remember when a new Star Wars movie was an event. Now it's like every five minutes there's a new Star Wars movie. I've only seen the original trilogy though.
  7. Good luck. I have no deathed Contra. Stage 5 is the furthest I've reached in Super C, and I usually can't get past stage 4.
  8. Guile handcuffs and gun in SF2. The handcuffs turned out to be somewhat true and based on a glitch in the original arcade version. Polybius. Tomb Raider nude code. If you loop Kung Fu 50 times then you would get to fight your girlfriend.
  9. I'm digging the beard. You kind of look like a skinnier Randy Quaid.
  10. When I'm out of practice I'll usually only have trouble with Macho and Tyson but I have beaten this game many times ever since I was a kid. For me it's Macho's spin punch that gives me the most grief. I've never had much trouble with Bald Bull. I'd give the game a fairly high difficulty rating just because of how most people struggle with the last few boxers especially Tyson. There seems to be a number of people who've been trying for years and still can't beat Tyson. Some of this is due to the lag from modern displays and emulators, but he was considered almost impossible even back in the day.
  11. It will probably be a puzzle game. I'm looking forward to Tetris in the finals.
  12. I just noticed that you changed your avatar for Halloween. Nice.
  13. I have a lot of nostalgia for MM2 because it was one of the games that I rented all the time as a kid. I never tried any of the subsequent Mega Mans on the NES.
  14. I definitely remember you from the other board. Welcome.
  15. Battletoads really should be played on original hardware on a CRT.
  16. Adventure Island is the only game on my list that I can't beat without continuing. I tried and I just can't. In that sense it might be the hardest game on there.
  17. They look so damn punchable in that picture you posted that I almost want to lower my rating.
  18. Here is a ranking and difficulty ratings for some of the harder NES games that I beat. 1. Battletoads - 10 2. Bump n Jump - 9.5 3. Adventure Island - 9 4. Mike Tyson's Punch-Out - 8.5 5. The Adventures of Bayou Billy - 8 6. Ninja Gaiden III - 7.5 7. Ninja Gaiden - 7 I'm not sure about the difficulty ratings. I guess MTPO deserves at least an 8.5 because of the legendary difficulty of beating Tyson, but I've been beating the game since I was a kid so it's not quite as tough for me as it is for others. And the hardness of Ninja Gaiden is helped by the unlimited continues, same with Adventure Island.
  19. Super Mario Bros. is outstanding for a 1985 console release. It was one of the first games to feel like a more modern platformer as opposed to Donkey Kong and the like.
  20. Ninja Gaiden 3 looks amazing. So much detail in the backgrounds as well as both vertical and horizontal scrolling and some parallax. And it throws a lot of stuff at you with no slowdown.
  21. They're a solid 7/10. I can forgive that they influenced a lot of crap.
  22. Also, Soda is quick so he's hard to dodge when there is any lag from modern displays. You'll find yourself continuously dodging too early in order to compensate for not being able to react to his movements. Not that Soda isn't tough on real hardware as well. I struggled against him as a kid until I got better.
  23. That was one that I never would have guessed. I also forgot that the original Final Fantasy was published by Nintendo.
  24. Block when Soda squats to do an uppercut. He'll get confused and freeze so that you can get a star off him. Star punches knock him down. You can get two quick and easy knockdowns this way before he starts dodging star punches.
