  1. Got a bunch recently. Mostly shovelware but they are all shrinked & sealed so they get a +1 in my book. Happy to get Splatoon too - that's a keeper.
  2. Good question. Many of the repairs are around replacing the polarizing filter --- but just how does a polarizing filter go bad?
  3. Nice work. I've picked up a few flashbacks over the years but yet to actually open & play any. I just toss the up in the attic! I've got a feeling you are done buying them either. Gotta keep the collection complete!
  4. Not sealed but similar to Brickmans post above, I've got a little set of Godaikin and assorted others.
  5. If it doesn't work, I'd be interested in it. I like to fix these things!
  6. Here's mine. It feels sparse as I don't get to work in this space as often as I'd like to. Mostly do simple arcade PCB repair when I have the time. One thing I went for here was LIGHT. I tried to make this space as bright as possible!
  7. I'm at the point now where I'll pick up anything that's still sealed -- brought these home this week. Most expensive was the Paper Mario at just $50. These Blizzard battle chests are surprisingly cheap on Ebay. Just did a good BIN on a Warcraft version to balance these two out .
  8. I've got 6 cabinets and about 15 PCBs and I'd like to have original manuals to go along with each one. I'd be interested!
  9. I get all Nintendo systems at launch; everything else I'll wait until something unique is interesting. I didn't pick up a PS1 until parappa the rapper came out. Might have been Katamari for the PS2, can't recall specifically. Jet Set Radio for the Dreamcast. I don't have a PS5 yet but Goat Simulator 3 might push me over the edge....
  10. The green is printed; the yellow is a sticker. Is there a guide somewhere on the variants?
  11. Perhaps it has the wrong manual as well. All in all, good market opportunity for VGA, just grade & describe the games properly.
  12. Currently listed on eBay - What's going on here? Stickers left on the box and the cart placed in the incorrect position - on the one box where it actually matters!? Also seems strange they don't expect the map to be included in the box. I don't mind graded games, I even purchase from HA auctions - however this sloppiness really lowers my impression of WATA
  13. Are they accepting prototypes now? I can't find that they are anywhere in their website (and I've got one I'd like to submit)
  14. Picked up a few more PC games. I don't particularly collect these. Is there a big market for boxed PC games? Anyway to know details about releases/variants/etc? X wing is the 3.5 floppy disk version, which I don't recall at all. (Suggested CPU: 386 or higher!)
  15. One night last fall ( after a couple of beers), I pre-ordered one. I did receive some games but who knows what's actually inside the cases.
  16. Last that I recall specifically was Rygar for the NES, but picking one up on a Friday night was a regular weekend activity for a while back in the day. I also remember purchasing an "exclusive" copy of Indy Jones & infernal machine for the N64 from a Blockbuster (roughly '96 ish)
  17. but what is a 'third party seal'? Could I offer my services here shrinkwrapping boxed games and WATA would treat that as '3rd Party sealed"? Is there a period of time post-manufacturing that a game can be sealed and have it considered "third party sealed" (as opposed to being resealed)?
  18. Picked up some sealed CD-ROM big box games today. Glad to add them to my collection
  19. I use the Retro Game Collector app for no other reason than I can filter their "full" list of games to keep out ones I don't want (foreign, unlicensed) I can sort and show my collection based on publisher. So, if I want to see which Activision games I'm missing for the 2600, it's easy to do so. I couldn't find any other tool where I could do both.
  20. In this situation though, what's the difference between a reseal and a "3rd party seam". Telegames was the distributer. If the plastic shrink was wrapped after the game left Telegames, how could anybody be confident of its contents? Furthermore, what's to stop any individual from shrink wrapping a game and claiming '3rd part sealed' when getting it graded?? I'd like to have more confidence in WATA......
  21. The description on this game says "Third party seam" in regards to the seal. (Which apparently warranted an A++ rating) What does that mean? Is this a fancy way of claiming that he game was re-sealed at some point? https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-games/kung-fu-superkicks-wata-96-a-sealed-2600-telegames-1983-usa/a/312110-67007.s?ic4=GalleryView-Thumbnail-071515 Some background: Telegames warehouse was hit by a tornado back in the 90's and pallets of their games (I'm sure discarded through insurance loss) made it to the local collectors market in Dallas. I pulled many new-in-box Telegames games out of their factory shipping boxes and don't recall seeing any of them shrinked in plastic. I have a number still in my collection today -- all in excellent condition but none are 'sealed'
  22. Sealed 5200 Berzerk. This one is a bit ... interesting. No obvious holes in the seal but somehow these critters got inside.
  23. I placed 15 amp outlets each with dedicated switches around my basement in particular spots where I thought I'd use them (for pinballs) and then, naturally, we ended up organizing the room differently. So, don't stress too much because your plans will change. I also had built-in shelves built - shallow and just high enough for boxed NES & Atari games. Floor to ceiling! They look great but can't be used to store anything else.
