  1. One more question .. how about taxes? Do they report that as income? Do you have to claim 'long term capital gains'??
  2. You pay them 15% of your sold game price (separate from buyer's premium) Just to be clear: Just to be clear: If the hammer price is $85,000 and then the buyers premium is $100,000. You, the seller, would receive $72,250 ? Not a bad pay day for HA!

  4. My Pokemon yellow with sun fading (on the side of the box, where it was exposed) This was not in direct sunlight but in a bright room for about 2 years. Not in a WATA box though but even so .. don't risk it!
  5. Here's a question - The Odyssey shipped with like 6(?) games as "pack ins" When were the other games released? Were they all at once at launch or did the concept of 'purchasing a new game' come later? And if later, then what title would have the honor of being the very first 'cartridge' sold for a video game system?
  6. Nice stuff guys. Didn't the Odyssey only sell in the range off 100k units? Successful for the time but in comparison to the numbers that later consoles sold at, there can't be too many to have survived intact for 50 years. I think, in the long run, the Fairchild F is going to have more demand on it from collectors. The Odyssey is just too ancient & obscure
  7. Here's another, pretty crazy comic. This is from inside the Super Mario USA guide
  8. How about this comic. Anyone seen this before?

  10. I like plastic bags and twist ties myself but apparently not as much as some other people out there.....
  11. Another nice Deluxe set just went for a high amount. Anybody here? https://www.ebay.com/itm/275287593734?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=McwVTjdZRsm&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hMVZmt5QQMy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  12. The oldest that I have from something I personally purchased is the receipt for Metroid (NES). I was collecting Atari pretty hard in the 90's and I knew that eventually the current consoles would be collectable. -- I held onto everything!
  13. I pre-ordered Ocarina of Time and I think that was the first time ever doing that for me as well. Largely I did it because they promised 'extras' which, naturally, I still have. This is what the pre-order from EB games got you in '98. (The t-shirt is aging poorly!)
  14. Found it. They sold it to me a few days before the launch date - that was a great weekend with SM64. and also, apparently they printed your CC number on receipts back then! :0
  15. Was anybody watching this auction? https://www.ebay.com/itm/154942029852?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=F-gI7stpT2i&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hMVZmt5QQMy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY The story here in my head is a couple of ladies found a mint, unused Deluxe Set and inadvertently split it up into two auctions. First one went for about a grand...
  16. Yes, that was actually my line of thought -- "Did they really get it right the first time?" I've only found this difference -- and this may be a bit too obscure even for people here. The top controller in the image came from a "red bar" NES Controller box and the below came from an earlier "Control Deck". The later controller's plastic baggie is more cloudy.
  17. The console changed slightly over it's lifetime but how about the controllers? Did they? I've pulled controllers from later 'red bar' themed consoles and from early '86 consoles and the controllers all seem the same to me. (Note: yes, I'm aware of the dogbone)
  18. I did find one other difference - there was a typo fixed in these manuals on the final page (and extra carriage return on the final page near the end of the Warranty and disclaimers section. Could the TM manuals be Gameboy 'launch' versions? Never knew about the asterisk meaning on the NES manuals. Good to know.
  19. And then, I found it again with Tetris manuals. Anyone have any idea?
  20. Just sorting some things tonight and I came across this. Both manuals have the same code (DMG-TN-USA-1) however one has a TM SoQ while the other is a (R) SoQ
  21. Digital Press was legendary back in the 90's. That copy there was something like the 4th edition of their Guide (and I believe their last) Before the guides, they were a fanzine - and that's where they first started to attempt to compile the Atari 2600 NTSC release list and rarity/prices.
