Yeah I've got a box of like 45 new SFC games that I need to log into my collection spreadsheet. If I opened all of them to check the boards it would take quite some time.

I can't spend all of my time worrying that some crazy soldering psychopath is going to counterfeit a $3 game. If I find out I have a counterfeit common I'll just go buy another copy.

I don't open every game. Who is going to fake a copy of Super Soccer 97 or some crap like that. But if it's a more desirable game I will definitely check the board. I've actually never found a reproduction in any game I've bought so far. I guess I've been lucky, but I do check for most games that go for more than about $25.

To be honest, we can't pretend to have the slightest clue how many protesters have died in Hong Kong, considering how many of them have simply disappeared. The story of the people of Hong Kong seems to be generally more relatable to western audiences, considering that it was a pretty stable region in comparison with Chile, Ecuador, Haiti, etc.

Apparently they have just announced a new console - The Xbox Series X. They say that all accessories from the Xbox One will be compatible with it. Anyone else think of a PC FX when they look at it?

I feel that a lot of people miss this fact. James is a filmmaker who plays games, not the other way around. Unless he has done research for an AVGN episode, he almost never delves deep into the internet to dig up facts about games. He usually just talks about his own personal experiences with various games.

This is true but his auctions have been getting bid up a lot more lately. Its getting harder for me to find good deals from him these days.

I sometimes actually wonder what Mike's place is in the videos outside of James and Mike Mondays? He doesn't seem to know a lot about film, which is a large part of what James does with the channel now. He also doesn't seem to do a lot with AVGN aside from editing. Is he basically like James' manager or something?

I've never used an OSSC or upscaler myself, but I know CarcinogenSDA uses one on his stream to great effect. The issue I run into personally is my TV constantly resizing the image of my old consoles. It's hard to explain but mid game without changing any settings the picture will change resolution and sometimes cut off text. I hate it.

Nintendo - SFC It has almost all of the good NA releases save a few like Sunset Riders, but it also has access to many great Japan only releases like majyuuou, GS Mikami, the Firemen, etc. NEC - Easily the PC Engine Duo. no reason to choose anything else. Sony - Backwards compatible PS3. There aren't a ton of games from the PS4 era that I super care about. Microsoft - PC I guess. Is that cheating? If its cheating then I choose an xbox one X Sega - Genesis. There are probably a ton of games on the Genesis that I would enjoy. Atari - 7800. It is backwards compatible.

I have listened to people complain about the AVGN and Cinemassacre videos on NA for years. I never really understood all the hate. I get that James isn't really great at games, but he is really entertaining to listen to. Personally I am more interested in listening to their relatable experiences and thoughts on games than I am in listening to someone no-life a bunch of video games. If I wanted to hear about how much better someone is at a game, I would just go watch speedrunners instead. I have heard that Mike Matei isn't a very good person, and in some of the James and Mike Mondays videos you will occasionally see him snap at James. For example, in one episode when they were playing a castlevania game, I believe, James tells him "Get the key!" and Mike screams back "I cant get the fucking key!" Which seemed uncalled for. Moments like that are kind of off-putting. I believe there were other similar moments, but that one stood out to me.

Do any of you guys have experience using OSSC? How does it compare to using a CRT? I had a Sanyo flat screen CRT television when I lived in the US, but if I used it for more than a few hours it would get a green spot on the screen.

I've had some people offer to teach me how to play, but I guess I've been too put off by the playerbase. It kind of feels like one of those games where the people who play it are the people who have played it forever. Kind of like FIFA or Madden or MTG, except in MTG I'm the one smacking people.
