  1. Both games have traits of Saturn being the lead system. There is pixel dithering in the PS1 versions when the PS1 was capable of better transparencies. The Saturn versions have some extra animations while the PS1 versions do not most likely to having less RAM and had to be removed. Most of the other 2D Capcom games were developed on Saturn first and then ported over to PS1 so the same most likely applies to MM8/MMX4 as well. The Saturn was just better at 2D. I grew up with the PS1 versions so I have no bias towards the Saturn versions but there are several clues that point to Saturn being the lead system.
  2. And this is why I open sealed games. No, people don't know what mint means.
  3. No, plastic baggies are good enough unless it's a super expensive game. Then you might want to consider a box protector.
  4. Comparing the two, yes I'd say the Saturn version of 8 is better. It sounds better, looks better, and has extra content. I think I do prefer the controls on PS1 though. For X4, there is very little difference. It sounds the same, looks nearly the same, and has the same content. Again I think the PS1 controls are a little bit better.
  5. So what is the definitive console version of Mega Man 8 and Mega Man X4? Both were released on Sega Saturn and Playstation so to give a fair analysis I'd say it comes down to 4 things: - Graphics - Sound - Control - Content I'm sure this has been done before on other forums but I'd still like to hear everyone's opinion about this.
  6. I've always wondered if the limitation was not just to keep away shovelware, but for consumer financial reasons as well. NES games were $40-$50 back then which was alot of money. If publishers pumped out a bunch their games it might result is poor sales because people couldn't afford to buy several games a month.
  7. In this weeks video, I go through all of the Nintendo Power inserts that came with most NES games.
  8. I've never opened a sealed one of those but I imagine no. There was no reason to.
  9. 3 of those games I need to open. Are you going to record the process if you open them at TMG? It would be awesome to open a sealed game on stage just to hear the mixed reaction from the crowd.
  10. You can see the Mario 2's in their sleeves in the tray and the cut out is on the right. For Zelda II the cutout is on the left. They did this so that the gold cart would be visible through the box cutout.
  11. (waves hand) Hi, I'm one of those idiots that opens sealed Nes games. All Nes carts were put in the box facing forward with the label on top. All the sleeves were put in the box with cut out on the right except with the gold cart Zelda games.
  12. A very short and simple video this week talking about the Gradius Breakdown DVD.
  13. I agree, that looks correct to me. I want to say DT was printed up until 91? The cartoon was super popular at this time so it stayed on shelves longer.
  14. This week I unbox The Raiden Project for the original Playstation. Once again it contains something unique and is required IMO if you want your game to be CIB.
  15. I think it's safe to say Actraiser is considered a SNES classic by many. So this week I decided to unbox it.
  16. Anyone else not receiving ebay messages? I've messaged several people a few days ago and I haven't heard back from them. I usually hear back from at least one person by now.
