  3. Looks like there are at least four variants of Game & Watches that came in blister packs. See these two links. https://www.link-tothepast.com/arrivage-game-watch-zelda-sous-blister/ http://www.intheattic.co.uk/carded_games.htm
  4. You edited in this, since I started writing my above post. I found proof for this, be looking for videos of tours of the Nintendo Store. Here's the first one I found uploaded February 2018 https://youtu.be/C_oJAEGzpI8?t=1104. Look there it is! The front looks identical to the regular Nintendo Selects version. I wanted to see if it's still there, so the same guy made one in January 2019, but they moved the 3DS games and it no longer had the red case. Looking a bit earlier, here's one uploaded Aug 2018, https://youtu.be/Oj24dJZZcnw?t=323. That has it in the same spot as the original, but now in a white case.
  5. I have a couple questions about where your table differs from mine. Keep in mind that most of my knowledge is based on ebay, and very likely to have some errors. You have the no Rev-A, new screenshot box start with the first three screw cart. Do you have a reason for this? I only saw the that box with MiJ carts and on last time I looked at ebay. Nice catch on the less saturated gold color. I never notice. I figured I'd make a gif with the photos you sent me, so here it is. Zelda 1 #06 on your table has a no Rev-A box with a Rev-A cart. Why do you think this is the case? Similarly, #08 has the last no code box with the first coded cart. I'm also interested in knowing why for this too. I've never seen the "Code -1, oval SOQ TM, 9-digit zip" box do you happen to have a picture? Hadn't noticed the glossiness. I would love to see a picture when you get the chance. I'm not sure about the -2 manual or PC 'E' cart for LA. Unsurprisingly, I was never going to catch the OOT "gray cart version" box on ebay, so thanks. I did find out that OOT carts have version codes. But, I forgot to go back and update my list. I'll be doing that in the future. I actually have all three prints for LA DX, I've just named them differently. The unlabeled is the second print, the [U/ Box and Manual] is the first print, the [SOQ] is the third print. The no-foil Skyward Sword is the unlabeled variant. I'm pretty sure the vertical CDi games are Europe exclusive. I haven't seen one that looks like it came from the US. If you see the variants on Zelda Collection (https://zeldacollection.com/philips-cdi/) all the vertical ones are European. Hadn't seen the blister pack for the Game & Watch, thanks. I found a picture here: https://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/vintage-game-watch-zelda-never-opened-1723678297
  6. There is. Look at the second link in the OP (the black box WATA guide) and go to the second post with the picture. There is a Super Mario Bros Oval R with a star
  7. While, I'm posting I'll copy over my manual information from the other thread. I don't care if you copy it to the first post or just link here. That thread is where I heard about the projection TV warning in the manual. Here's the quote from the_wizard_666, "The asterisk on the manual designated a minor addition - when projection TVs were introduced, a warning leaflet on the use of the NES with projection TVs was inserted. The warning was later added to the manual instead. Older releases that were reprinted with the warning inside the manual have an asterisk beside the code - usually after, but sometimes before. Later games didn't need the asterisk, because they never had a printing without the warning. As with anything else involving reprints, there are some titles who's * variant manuals are rarer, and some who's non-* variants are tougher to come by. But as with screw variants, etc, they don't really command a premium." Despite only owning 6 manuals (I'm a loose NES guy), I happen to have two super mario bros./duck hunt manuals one with the star and one without ( what a coincidence, I only own one cart. I got the other manual at an estate sale in a dust sleeve with a non mario game). I only found three major differences. Two are the Oval TM or R, and the © 1988 or © 1988,1989. But, below I have a picture of a Zelda manual that has the star, Oval TM, projection warning, and © 1987,1989 (credit for the picture goes to @rondy, I hope he doesn't mind me sharing). So, the only consistent change is the addition of the rear projection TV warning with the star. For Zelda 1, there are at least two revisions of the manual with the NES-ZL-USA-1* code. One I posted above and below is the other with the Oval R seal (again credit to rondy). Also, the Classic Series manual was NES-ZL-USA-2 (no star).
  8. There are actually two variations of the oval seal. One has a TM in the lower right (see picture below), the other has a ®. Which one of these do you boxes have? Also, Zelda 2 came with a star code. Picture from an ebay auction with Oval TM seal below (https://www.ebay.com/itm/264486988906).
  9. I think you're pretty much right with the start code on boxes denoting the addition of the "For sale and use in ...". However, Zelda 1 provides a small exception. The star code and the for sale label both were added at the same time to the Oval TM box. But, when the box was updated to the Oval R, the star was removed from the code (see pictures from two ebay listings below). Additionally, the Classic Series rerelease also did not have a star code (but the box code was changed to NES-ZL-USA-1). I'm curious to know what seals are on your MTPO and DW? If they are both Oval TM, I'm guessing the star code only came on boxes with that seal. EDIT: I looked at the Wata thread you linked, and they have a picture of a Oval R Super Mario Bros with the star, so there goes that theory.

  11. Oh, yeah I remember finding that thread last time I looked this up. Thanks for posting it. That thread is where I heard about the projection TV warning in the manual. 12. I'm the guy that has put together a list of all known Zelda variants. Braveheart's list was a great source that I used to start out, it gave me an idea of what to look out for. But, it is far from complete. My current list has 10 box variants, 11 cart variants, 6 manual Variants, 14-16 total variants. But, I know even my list is missing some stuff. Below in the thread, rondy posted his list that has some stuff I'm missing. I do plan on updating my list when I get the time. Here's the link to my list:
  13. I don't know at to believe anymore regarding the star on boxes and manuals. I've heard of the promotion thing, last revision, and for manuals I've heard it means it has the rear projection TV warning. For Zelda 1, I think the star code only was on the Oval TM seal, but there was an Oval R seal after that without the star. The star code manual came with both the Oval TM and R seals. Even after that, the classic series came out with no star code. Although it was kind of a re-release thing.
  14. @ThePhleo I've updated my list to include all North American Zelda games, not just US ones.
  15. The box has the standard for sale and use in the US, Canada, and Mexico. So it probably has a USA code.
  16. Seller: TylerBarnes Buyer: 0xDEAFC0DE Summary: Moonfall: A Legend of Zelda Compilation (https://www.moonfallcartridge.com/) Feedback: Positive I bought the cartridge off the linked website. Ordering was easy, shipping was fast, and it arrived in good condition. Also, I've enjoyed listening to the compilation and finding the hidden secrets. I've posted pictures here:
  17. Since I helped with the back label list, I figured I'd post my notes. I've also included pictures starting with label 1. Labels 1 and 2 were Zelda 1 only. There are two revisions of Zelda 1 with 3 screws and label 1, but no Zelda 2s. The last one has "Made in Japan" but no cart code. As there are several revisions with label 1 and a rare few with label 2, I would think that the 1/2 switch would be Spring/Summer 1988. The 2/3 switch was probably in Summer 1988 to get ready for Zelda II. For the 3/4 switch we can start using bootgod (http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/search.php?region_op=%3D`%40`&region=USA&class_op=%3D`%40`&class=Licensed&battery=Yes&select_fields[]=20&field=6&order=asc&rows=400&rfa=2+11+3+6+47+7). Ultima: Exodus (February 1989) only comes with the oval SOQ and label 4. The 3/4 change happened one revision before the SOQ change on both Zeldas. It seems the SOQ change was also in February 1989, so this change was probably Winter 1988/89. Bootgod lists the change for 4/5 as between Wizardry: Knight of Diamonds (April 1992) and Baseball Stars II (July 1992). I double checked ebay, and all Wizardrys had label 4 and all Baseball Stars IIs had label 5. So, the change seems like it happened Summer 1992. For the 5/6 change, the next earliest game after StarTropics II is Kirby's Adventure (May 1993) which I found with and without the "-1". So, the change probably happened sometime between Fall 1993 and Winter 1993/94. Going through the back label column on the Bootgod list there is one outlier (excluding prototypes), "Overlord" (January 1993). It has two different labels. The first is Label 4 which is a bit strange since the 4/5 change happened half a year earlier. The second one isn't even gold, it's gray. It's text is similar to Label 5, except it only has the english text, there is no "Rd.", and the "NES-USA/CAN-1" now says "REV-A".
  18. It's also day number 2 of snow here in Chicagoland.
  19. Maybe eventually, but only US stuff for now.
  20. I've started collecting Zelda NFRs. I mostly just have the common ones but I'm slowly looking for more. Here's a picture of what I've got.
  21. Wow! That's really cool. That's a lot of work for a small bit of convenience.
  22. If it was something promotional for the Gamecube, it could be for The Collector's Edition. That might explain why it has the logo from the Zelda 1 title screen. It was released in the US on November 17, 2003 as well.
  23. A bit of a change in pace compared the rest of your instruments.
  24. I've updated my list to include all North American Zelda games.
