  1. No to the original question. I have a BIOS-modded AES and a TurboCD (albeit non-functional), and it is still the NES for me. This is not including any of my arcade cabinets, of course.
  2. It's my second oldest's 5th birthday tomorrow and she wants McDonald's for supper. My dad was right...try to keep your kids away from Mickey Ds as long as you can. After they have it one time, that's all they want.
  3. Seems like people are wearing masks where ever I go in Northern Kentucky and in downtown Cincinnati. Don't know about other parts of Ohio since I just spend time in downtown for work. Around the neighborhood last night, however, for Halloween, it seemed like "back to normal."
  4. Halo 1,2,3 Unreal Tournament 2004 Star Wars Battlefront series (old and new) And of course, original Doom and Wolfenstein.
  5. Well, Nintendo finally shipped my pins out yesterday! They met their "Late October Shipping" deadline by the skin of their teeth.
  6. Count me in as well. Of the four generations of PSes (all Slims for me, by the way), the PS2 has gotten the least amount of play...even compared to the PS3. I got the PS2 Slim late, though, as I was into GameCube and the Original XBox back then and got a Slim pretty much when the PS3 was already going on sale...so my library of PS2 games is small. Of the cross console games of that generation, I mostly played them on Xbox since I had that first (due to Halo and Halo 2), and occasionally on GameCube. My PS2 Slim does look purrrrty on its special stand...being all vertical and collecting dust.
  7. Even though I probably could not make a Halloween night session, I doubly can't make it since I am one of the few people with a Switch yet no MK 8 Deluxe! I guess I should get it sometime.
  8. Just looked up the logistics...they announced the discontinuation last week, but you have through December to get some. Production will stop at the end of this year.
  9. Also gotta have that nice, smoke-filled smell to go along with it too!
  10. It definitely has its own distinct taste, thanks to the saccharin (which they still used in the formula until its end last week). I can definitely tell the difference between a Tab, a Diet Coke, and a Diet Pepsi. I guess I could liken it somewhat to Diet Rite, but even then its not a close match. Speaking of obscure diet pops, @Bearcat-Doug, last time I was at a Cincinnati Cyclone hockey match, US Bank Arena was only selling that for diet. Must have gotten a cheap deal to go with RC Cola and Diet Rite for cost savings. Gotta love minor league sports!
  11. Funny you guys were talking about Tab a month before Coke finally decide to discontinue it this month (October 2020). Yes, they still sold it up until now...I used to drink quite a bit of if when I lived on the southwest-side of Chicago near Midway Airport. They would sell it in specific demographic enclaves were the older generation of diet pop drinkers still had a taste for it. I started drinking it in the mid-2000s because I was amazed myself it was still being sold in Chicago in 2005. But, alas, Tab is no more as of last week!
  12. Old, used up loveseat for the NES and part of the basement arcade.
  13. What was it...20 frickin' straight completions for Mayfield? How????
  14. Nothing in particular. Maybe fire up the basement arcade and get some World Warrior going on. Maybe some Metal Slug. Kids will want to stay up later after Trick or Treating. My oldest loves our lone pinball table.
  15. I bought my first LRG stuff this year too. First was Monkey Island for Sega CD and that seemed like a LOOOONG time to fulfill. I also did the Streets of Rage 4 and that came a week after Monkey Island, even though it opened a month after that game. I now have gotten two of the four Toplan games (Truxton and Zero Wing) and also the Mummy Demastered. Hoping those come right before Xmas!
  16. Wow, didn't know VGS had a Minecraft server! I haven't played the game in over 2 years, and even then, I barely played it and don't know much about the intricacies about the game. Looks fun. Not sure if I can make it Halloween night (kids and all), but maybe in the future!
  17. Gotta go with Tyson's Punch-Out!! for mine...as you can see from my avatar.
  18. Nevermind...I went right back to it after I posted above and increased the score by 30,000 somehow!
  19. You guys are unreal. I finally just broke 40,000. Posted my new score in my original post. I guess I will try again tomorrow sometime to even get close to 50k or 60k.
  20. This, definitely. Like I mentioned, I never had this as a kid or played it on the NES back then. I did play the arcade game, just never the NES game. I got the game years ago in a lot and haven't really touched it until this week! By the way, posted a new score in my original post. A bit better, but not by much. And that is with killing three magicians this time around...I stink!
  21. Yeah, I sorta knew the history to that, but still...Coleco getting away with that is still amazing in my mind. I had the Gemini-branded one, not the Columbia House one. I asked my dad recently where he got it at, and he can't remember even purchasing it!
  22. So awesome you got it the year it came out! I got my the Xmas of 1987. And, to this day, it is still the best Christmas of my lifetime (even including the SNES Xmas of 1991). I had a Coleco Gemini (Not Colecovision, but the Gemini. Atari 2600 knockoff...how the hell did Coleco get away with that one?) and a ton of 2600 games to play on it, but something with the NES... I got the NES right when my parents were divorcing, so the console quite literally saved my childhood and took my mind off of what was happening. Don't get me wrong, I love playing 2600 games still, but the Gemini couldn't do what the NES did for my childhood. Super Mario Bros was a revelation first in that arcade (Vs. SMB), and then bringing it home that Xmas...boy, that Xmas sticks with me. Besides SMB being the pack-in (we got the action set...sans ROB or Duck Hunt), we also got the Legend of Zelda (oi!), Legend of Kage, Kung-Fu, and Rush 'n' Attack. I mean, when you have a Christmas with both SMB and LOZ for the first time, its gotta be good. My uncle lived with us at the time, and I remember him making hand drawn maps for us of the dungeons...this was before we got the Fun Club sent to our house! EDIT: Oh, by the way, I voted for SMB. I mean, the game literally blew me away as a kid when I played it on a Vs. cab in a crappy Mexican restaurant that we would occasionally go to and I fell instantly in love.
  23. I gave it a "5." I played it on my Mac about two years ago, and the first day or so I played, I enjoyed it. But then it just got boring to me, as I was not willing to commit that much time to the little world that was generated for me. However, I assume it can be very fun with friends on a private server. Having others to play with and pass the time and work together may take some of the "bore" off of MineCraft for me. And, real Legos>>>>>>>>Virtual MineCraft "Legos" always and forever!
