  1. Grain of Salt time: According to a post on GameFAQS (the "Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light" Switch forum), the game went up for pre-orders twice yesterday on GameStop and sold out instantly. Again...grain of salt...don't know if the guy is trolling or it was legit information.
  2. Just tried the fire trick on the gravestones, and yeah, the magician comes up instantly, but I am so ineffectual with my flame tossing (with zombies sprouting up everywhere) that I just resorted to lances and daggers to trigger. I will practice more today and see what kind of scores I can get!
  3. Well, yeah...and I could also emulate Windows with Wine or run Bootcamp! But not worth the hassle just to play this game. If I do decide to play Among Us, it will likely be on the old iPad. And, for some reason, I can't get Bootcamp to work on this particular iMac. Which is strange, as I just got it last year and it refuses to partition part of my HD for a Windows install.
  4. Kinda leery about using ROMS to games I don't own. That's just me.
  5. Depends on if I have the games in my collection! I have nowhere near a complete NES collection...but I will certainly try!
  6. Got it! Well, it definitely doesn't help that I decided to start playing on the very last weekly contest of the year.
  7. I assume the tournament is only for those high up on the leader board?
  8. The Messenger (Switch) I haven't even gotten to the 16-bit/Metroidvania part of the game yet and I am absolutely loving it. A bit of Ninja Gaiden in the 8-bit section (with more air acrobatics then the original NG trilogy), but looking forward to the Metroidvania part. Very funny and self-referential. I highly recommend it! I have a phyiscal copy, but of course, those are sold out. You can get it on the eShop, however.
  9. Bump...welp, already got a slightly better score to post in my initial post.
  10. I am surprised Killer Queen Black for Switch has not been mentioned yet...or has it and I just missed it?
  11. Looks like Among Us is not Mac compatible. I have an old iPad Mini 2. How does it play on mobile/tablet?
  12. Ah, I didn't know this! I have to check this out as well. And, "Would you like some punch to drink? Ha, ha, ha!" Welcome, fellow Punch-Out!! fan.
  13. 74,200 46,300 38,800 34,300 23,500 This is my first time participating in any event...just joined last month. Hopefully this is the right way to take the picture. Bad score...I never had this game growing up and only recently got it for my NES. I will keep trying throughout this week:
  14. For the better part of this year: Star Wars Battlefront II. This game got lots of flack when it came out due to the loot boxes, but I got it a year later and, really, it seems the loot boxes are no longer being utilized, as I have yet to see how to buy one and have been playing all of 2020. I love the Star Wars theme and the multiplayer maps and scenarios are damn fun. I love flying around as Boba Fett (when I get lucky to have enough points during the game to select him and there is a spot for another Hero/Villain) and pissing off the other team with "death from above." I play it on PS4. Other than that, I finally started BOTW for the first time last week. Its OK so far...not as mind blowing as I thought it would be. But, I am sure it will open up soon. Just got done with the lab where you get your extra tablet powers. Also playing Super Mario 35 and The Messenger on Switch!
  15. I got that one too on my YouTube algorithm!
  16. ^Yeah, you are probably right. Though, like I said, there are some exceptions. My wife and her parents from Iowa never had it until we moved here in 2011/2012 and they like it just fine.
  17. I gotta agree with Doug here, Daniel. I love the Cincinnati-style chili...and my wife who had never had it until 2012 likes it quite a bit too!
  18. For the Reds, yes. My dad is actually first a White Sox fan and then a Reds fan second. I am Reds first and White Sox second. With that said, my dad and I did attend Game 2 of the 2005 World Series when the White Sox swept the Astros (back when the Stros were still in the NL). Konerko hitting a grand slam in a soggy game lit up the dreary ball park and the hearts of every South Sider after the Sox were ho-hum during the first part of Game 2. The joy continued two games later when the Sox brought the World Series title back to Chicago. My dad was so overjoyed that the Sox won...he has been a White Sox since the 1950s and was heartbroken as a teen when the Go-Go White Sox lost it in 1959. I am glad I got to share that moment with my dad in Game 2.
  19. Tetris 99 and Super Mario 35 to start with. Breath of the Wild is good...but you can also get Skyrim for Switch, which BOTW seems to take after and is richer in detail than BOTW. Super Mario Odyssey is a must...best 3D Mario I have ever played.
  20. It was before the digital TV switchover. I watched the 2005 ALDS up in my office in downtown Chicago while at work...the year the White Sox won the World Series. Everyone in Chicago was hoping that would be the year (even many Cub fans). We didn't have a television in the office, and the ALDS games were starting in the mid-afternoon while I was at work. I brought along the TE with the TV Tuner and everyone thought it was awesome we could watch the games! I really don't think I have touched my Turbo Express since the digital conversion...I mostly just used it as a handheld TV, as I would rather just play TG16 games on the actual system. I have it (the TE) stored away somewhere in a box...I guess I should pull it one of these days and see if it still works. As an aside, has anyone "Frankenstein-ed" a TE TV tuner with an adaptor box? That would be cool (yet inefficient) to see.
  21. I was about ready to sell my TG16 and Turbo CD along with all the games, as I hardly play it and my Turbo CD is busted (probably the crappy little gear that disinegrates). But, with this announcement, I might keep the TurboChips and CDs and just sell the systems. Love the look of the Analogue Duo, too. Looks almost like a Turbo Duo. I like my original NT, but wish it looked more like a NES (though that probably would not have been possible with top loading).
  22. Saturday Supercade DK show says it's a-Mariooooo...and the Saturday Supercade is infallible. Q-Bert also lives in an alternate 1950s and fights snake Greasers.
