  1. I subscribed to CBS All Access for free and then cancelled it just so I could see the documentary. It was enjoyable. It was more specific to Sega than Nintendo. It actually seemed more fair than the book. Full of Nintendo signage all over the documentary which was quite cool to see. Peter Main and Howard Lincoln barely aged since the 90s. I believe the interviews were shot when the book was made though. Funny to see the "console wars" are still going on in some of these people's minds. Like Al Nilsen thinks the SNES looked "12-bit" when he first saw it. Fan boy until the end. You could see that Peter Main and Howard Lincoln were still emotional about it.
  2. Yeah this has to be the least impressive console launch we've seen. People just want a new system. Some of you may remember this. These games were available when the SNES came out. Can you imagine if this quality level of games came along side your xbsex or ps5?
  3. Ha yeah these streaming services are doing something wrong with this barrier to entry. At least with Amazon Prime you can just do the $4 rental.
  4. Personally I think this will be way more interesting than High Score. They interviewed actual important people. The book was interesting, but my understanding it pissed off lots of Nintendo people because it made them look bad. Hopefully, the documentary doesn't.
  5. Pretty neat. I always wondered how one rasterizes into a framebuffer on NES when it has none. Thought everything was done with tile tables or some such thing.
  6. The original Super Mario All-Stars was awesome and had an amazing amount of advertisement and merchandising surrounding it. Probably the most of any Nintendo game during their heyday. Seriously not even remotely excited about this. I'm not sure I would make an all-stars out of these. SMB/SMB2/SMB3 all had amazing visual and audio upgrades at the time on the SNES and were and still are iconic games. This just looks like the games running with the resolution up-scaled in an emulator. The best 3 and they pick Mario Sunshine? Um no... I guess they don't have any other choices though. Just goes to show how they still have not made many Super Mario games as iconic as the originals.
  7. Possibly just ebay full-filling their 100% satisfaction guarantee. They don't force the seller though due to their "mark delivered" policy. Or you could have some nice sellers who don't automatically assume you are scamming them and kindly give you a refund. If this policy wasn't in place eBay wouldn't last long as the scammers would take advantage of it and just claim everything wasn't received.
  8. So what you just said is technically the opposite of the truth. It's not the sellers responsibility and insurance doesn't cover stuff after delivery was made. The OP won't likely get anywhere with that. Insurance is only good if a package is lost in transit or if there is damage to the package. And the damage to the package must be judged by USPS (or whatever shipping company) to be the fault of them and not the sender. I'm shocked to hear eBay would send out refund requests. If it shows as delivered then the transaction is finished. I'm guessing these are the type of requests that the seller is not obliged to accept. My advice to the OP is to talk to the building manager. Also check if there was negligence regarding the security of that room. Seems like this is a building security issue.
  9. The NWC part was pretty enjoyable as there was video I hadn't seen before. Yeah they didn't interview the right people I feel for the Nintendo parts. But there was still a lot of stuff included that wouldn't really appeal to casual gamers which was nice. Most documentaries are very general and this had a lot of specific information. I think it would be interesting to see the extended interviews. All the pixel art sequences they should have completely cut out. Was really jarring to see modern garbage pixel art they made for the documentary and then switch to the amazing pixel art made in the 90s from say SF2 or Doom.
  10. Pretty interesting poster here. This was used to promote Powerfest 94 at retail. But the question is.... what is in the magic eye photo? I can never see these things, but maybe someone else can...
  11. You should probably send the seller some more money... It may be a "win" for you, but certainly not for the seller.
  12. Is there any documentation he released about how doom was created from the original source? Just thumbing through it really feels like this was rewritten from scratch.
  13. Ha I couldn't afford games! I got it from a friend or cousin I think along with a bunch of other games. They were definitely in stores. I assume the giveaway was because they produced too many (due to popularity in Japan). But I don't know if that's true or not.
  14. Me too. I already had it though, but nothing beats free at that time. Threw the game in a box and strangely I never opened it. I still have it sealed. Oddly it doesn't have a normal seal. Everyone keeps telling me its a reseal, but I got mine in the mail direct from Nintendo...
  15. I tried doing some research on this and was surprised to not find any info. Makes me wonder how wide of a distribution this got. Appears to be a bonus cd for pre-ordering the game (obviously) Any Starfox collectors run across this before?
  16. NEW in its original box and never opened. (SOLD!)
  17. I got it from a garage sale. No model or part number on it.
  18. Here is a Super Star Fox Weekend dangler I don't think I've ever seen before.
