  1. There is no reason to enclose it unless you want to protect it from dust or something. It's plastic so should be fine. Put games in and display it. You can buy little brackets that go in the slots in the bottom to put it on a peg board or hang it from the ceiling.
  2. So I didn't let this go. I called up eBay and Paypal several times. They kept telling me it was the other one's fault. EBay said the couldn't open an appeal since it was Paypal who made the final decision. That makes no sense, of course. EBay then gave me the Paypal case # so I could talk to Paypal about it. Paypal said they can appeal but there was nothing they could do since eBay was the merchant (I use managed payments) and eBay would need to file the appeal. Of course eBay keeps claiming they can't and Paypal says the opposite. Very long story short I eventually put eBay on a 3-way conference call with Paypal so they could deal with this themselves. Well once that happened Paypal changed their tune and said there is no way to open the appeal. WTH? The Paypal rep said he will give me a $100 voucher for my trouble, but can't send me the full $250. I just didn't want the buyer to get away with his scam, but at that point I ended the call because I got the damaged items back from the buyer and I can recoup my money I think with the addition $100 voucher. What a broken system and a fabulous loophole. Here is the scammer's eBay if you want to block them. https://www.ebay.com/usr/crishman Cristhian Welter. This is the reshipper address in case you want to be on the watch for these types of addresses: 472 Amherst Street Suite 7399603 Nashua NH 03063-1204
  3. Talked to eBay rep tonight. They refused to help me. I had to shell out the $250 to the buyer. Ebay had an extra $20 charge for the dispute which they kindly waved. After some research Paypal apparently does cover not-as-described disputes for someone who used a reshipper. This is why they went straight to Paypal and did not go through eBay. I really was not going to post this because I hate seeing people say eBay is a horrible place to sell. Because really, it isn't. This is the first time I have had a case decided against me because I am very careful to follow the rules. But yeah it hurts a bit when it does. I will try to call ebay again tomorrow to explain to someone with a better command of the English language. If eBay wants to let this shit continue, fine, but they can cover the refunds.
  4. Ha that's a little too low brow for me. I will not stoop so low so I can maintain my moral superiority. Besides his wife or kids could open the package and I don't have any ill will towards them.
  5. Yeah I had a long talk with eBay on the phone on Friday and they said we have to wait for the paypal case to be decided. Well Paypal decided in favor of the buyer today. Couldn't believe it. Even though it is clear he used a reshipper. EBay told me I'd be able to appeal the case after it was decided, but I don't see a button to do that. I'll be calling up eBay tonight, obviously. Here is the only photo evidence he provided (besides the crushed games). What you are looking at is a sturdy box that is in a large poly mailer. He claimed this a padded envelope, and his only pic since he threw out all the packing materials. And from this lone pic it kind of looks like one. So this is all you have to do now to scam someone when you are international... Claim something is damaged, contact paypal directly, and supply bullshit photo with a story about picking it up in person from the reshipper. I miss the old Hall of Shame thread.
  6. There are 1 or 2 single digit numbers impressed into the upper left part of the warning label on the back of the cart. I think these numbers (or range of numbers) match a regular Super Metroid cart.
  7. It was the first thing I did when he threatened to open a paypal case. They said I have to submit my evidence to paypal. Here I was thinking managed payments was going to be managed by ebay...
  8. Some guy recently opened a case via Paypal for an item that was damaged. On eBay I only ship within the USA and the global shipping program. Well this person, without me knowing, had me ship to an address that reships things to Europe and elsewhere. They did not use the global shipping program. Well it was damaged on its way to Europe. They sent me pictures of the damaged games. They never opened an eBay case. They went straight to Paypal. The person went as far as to claim they picked it up from the shipping center in the US which was a lie because I called the shipping center and they said they shipped it to him in Europe. He didn't even pay for them to repackage them for the overseas journey. He claimed I shipped CIB games in a padded envelope, which I did not. I shipped them in boxes and I put the boxes in poly mailers. His only evidence is a very close up picture of the label on the poly mailer and pictures of the damaged games. And claimed he threw all the other packaging out. Amazingly, Paypal told him to return the games (from Europe), and I guess they plan on forcing me to give him a refund. They haven't yet though. So those of you who think you are safe just shipping locally... might want to think again.
  9. No matter what people can still take things up with Paypal and totally try to screw you. I thought I was protected by only allowing the global shipping program. But buyers can use external shipping centers without you realizing it.
  10. Ha well at least it has a chance of hitting the floor. All of our Goodwill's make sure the valuable stuff and video games go right in the crate that gets shipped to shopgoodwill. Well with the exception of the junk that is.
  11. You know the person who donated this probably will never know. But that person who gets paid minimum wage to sort through the donations surely knows and is having a lot of regret right now.
  12. That SNES Interactive looks like it is taking a dump. I'm gonna say that one did not get a huge production run.
  13. The answer to #5 is yes. They deal with everything as far as I know. Not 100% sure on the Canada factor. They even have their own insurance service for shipping high value items. Just email them from their website. There is no point in sending anything to WATA if you are selling it on Heritage.
  14. I suspect a lot of people don't know that. Or how the process really works.
  15. I don't collect graded games either. Would just grade to sell if I was doing that. Are you planning on sending it to HA? Not sure if you are aware, but HA does all the grading for you at no additional charge. Sending a game to wata and then sending it to HA is a waste of time and money. But maybe you plan on selling them on eBay which gives you a quicker turn around time as stuff gets listed on HA at their leisure.
  16. Maybe change your rule to "look it up in Nintendo Power". Those of us that could beat games like this back in the day did it with a lot of practice and knowing tricks from video game mags or friends. Just watch a speed run of it for each level and you will know all the tricks in no time. It really is my favorite Contra. But yes very hard. No way can I beat it on hard. The Japanese version has the 30 lives Konami code. They decided to torture us for the North American version.
  17. Wait until they ruin the Moon with the moonbases.

  19. First game I ever played that I realized I could grind to level up my character and then blast through the palaces. I spent hours at a time in the same screen over and over getting more and more xp.
  20. Yeah, but some of the unfolded boxes are production ones. Here is some of the ones I have:
  21. They were used for a lot of different things. I know they were used to setup store displays. Like imagine a tower of empty Super Metroid boxes in a store for the promotion of the game. Also they were swapped out to repair boxes that were damaged to make them more presentable in stores. I have a bunch and keep them unfolded. I've seen people frame them. Certainly a rare and niche item.
  22. Tanooki, if the IRS ever needs evidence you've been not reporting income for years then they just need to come look at the 3 threads you've posted in about this.
  23. There is no new law here stating you have to pay more taxes. You already were supposed to be paying these taxes. As long as you didn't buy stuff to make money then you don't have to pay taxes. This qualifies as a garage sale fund. But if it appears you are buying to flip stuff, that is income and you are now and were always supposed to be reporting it. I'm sure turbo tax will have a little button you click when you enter your 1099K that lets you specify you didn't actually sell stuff in order to make a profit. So most people will be fine. But it is annoying because likely every one of these +$600 people will be clicking that button. They should've made it like $6000. However, if you do have to do the schedule C and report the extra income, remember you can write off what you paid for the item (including what you paid in tax). You can also deduct tons of other things like your mortgage (home business), lawn care, repairs, all kinds of stuff. All that being said, places like Facebook marketplace and Paypal F&F payments are about to get a lot more popular in 2022.
