  1. Oh yeah this is interesting. I have seen the press kit a few times, but not this. Sent you a private message.
  2. Actually it was the house for a demo station. Though not quite exactly this same thing.
  3. I missed this one when it originally came out, for some reason. I think I was too busy playing PC games. Considering how big of a fan of Zelda I and II I was I really can't explain why I missed it. I was also very excited to see it in the early EGMs before the snes was launched in the US. Anyway I played it on SNES9x and ZSNES back in the late 90s and a few years ago played it on the original hardware all the way through a couple of times. I'm still not sure if I would say it is better than Ocarina of Time, but it was interesting to see that it had a lot of the same storyline. If I had played it back in 1992 I think I would've thought it was the best Zelda game.
  4. You got that from me. Glad you are enjoying it.
  5. I've accumulated some store displays I am interested in trading for any other displays from the same era. Cash offers on the high end of value would also be entertained. More pics available upon request.
  6. Ha! Might be time to retire that 20mi per gallon f150 for a PHEV. Because you did that. If the end result of this is less parking lots full over oversized trucks just to get a loaf of bread I'm all for it. $4.55 here in central Illinois. Still way less than I paid in Canada and every where else in the western world. $5 though and the town burns!
  7. the bottom left one is the only display only one and is white-ish. The rest are unfolded retail boxes.
  8. They definitely made them back then, but who they were sent to and what were they were used for is what I am unsure about. I do know I have never seen pictures of them in-stores so that is interesting. But I did get some from a former Nintendo merchandiser awhile back. The KI box had the For Display only, but it looks different than usual, And the box is definitely whiter on the inside. Some of these boxes had an actual "Empty Box" sticker that was applied. These boxes were generally used for displays and the normal unfolded boxes were for damaged boxes to make them look more presentable (and the store would re-shrink wrap it or leave it unwrapped). I think they are pretty cool, but its definitely a niche item. That techbabe account on ebay has like a million of them they've been selling for years.
  9. Facebook is a horrible company and service. And it motivates bad behavior. Same with Instagram. But let's not pretend the video game collecting community didn't have it's problems before it moved to Facebook. Facebook just magnified it by 1000x. I left all the groups for the same reason you mentioned, and I would delete my Facebook account if I didn't need it for communication with people who are on Facebook only. Watch The Social Dilemma on Netflix (another wonderful company) if you want to be able to understand it a bit more. Here is a hot take... No one actually "Likes" your posts. No one actually cares about your "pickups". And last by not least "PM sent! How much?!"
  10. https://www.thelightphone.com/ This might be what you are looking for. Considering getting one myself.
  11. I posted this in the Display Club, but I noticed it doesn't show up on the latest postings. So reposting here. I thought people would enjoy this. Its a laserdisc that was used in the M181S. This is an upgrade to the M181 with the SNES retrofit topper on it. This was the Laserdisc interactive that was a precursor to the Nintendo Power Previews interactive. I clearly remember playing with these in stores... wishing that I could play the games. NES was at its prime and SNES was really on it's way up. With the retrofit topper on it and replacement keyboard:

  13. yup called my Discover and they said ok try again and this time it worked. I guess they just unflagged them.
  14. I'm getting this same issue. Tried a Discover and Mastercard. I went on my Discover account and I see a tons of attempted transactions. This reminds me of trying to order from Terraonion. You have to call your CC and give permission for the charge because they are not in the US. I will try that now.
  15. The cart is not a super nintendo cart. It is just a fake shell around a pcb that has an eeprom on it which has the program the microcontroller runs. C33 is just an empty slot that was never used (for additional keys?). I do have the rest of it, and actually a fully working one. And it doesn't need to be connected to run. Normal operation is that the lights will blink searching for the laserdisc player. This board won't even do that. Just single light on. The cart works fine in a working PCB so that is eliminated as the problem. Something must be wrong on the PCB. I'm just hoping to get attention from someone who has embedded experience. My understanding how this works is that the keyboard is interfaced to the microcontroller from the latches on the left. As you press the buttons it sets the input pins high on the microcontroller and that is being read by the program run to switch to different tracks on the laserdisc. It's actually fairly basic, but still beyond my understanding on how to debug this to see where it is going wrong.
  16. I've been trying to get this Power Previews PCB working for quite some time. I've basically replaced every component, and checked every trace, but only one light will come on. I was going to paste a big post here, but I feel like pretty much no one will know what I'm talking about. Hoping a competent engineer type will be interested in helping with this. Also in the even more unlikely event that someone has a power previews PCB they want to get rid of... of course let me know.
  17. Yes, this is not a new law. You are always supposed to claim business income. And ya'll can just write this off as garage sales funds. (ie: sold at a loss) So just just lie your ass off like you've been doing this the whole time when you didn't claim this income in the years prior. Warning this is not considered legal advice and I am not a tax professional.
  18. It takes awhile. At this rate 5-8mo turnaround time. Prices change by then. But yes, I would just send it to Heritage directly, they will handle it all for you.
  19. Sorry this happened to you. This hobby breeds greed and bad behavior like this for some reason. People will do anything to save a buck especially if there is no consequences. You are probably wondering "why would someone screw me for $25?". I've come to understand that the whole "omg I just got a $100 game for $1 at Goodwill" slowly degrades into "omg I just saved $25 on a mistake I made!". Feedback on eBay or anywhere else, doesn't mean much. Especially buyer feedback. Always protect yourself even if the person seems nice and has high feedback. Just remember you did the right thing and it only cost you $25 to maintain your dignity.
  20. I got to go to the E3 when Pokemon was launching. Got the press kit, demo cards, etc. It all seemed special at the time, but I was like oh what is this shit, wtf is nintendo doing? I was done then. So we are now in the same boat. I think it was just beyond my generation, obviously, because I was an adult. I can see the appeal, but still surprised it continues to last. There is just something about the cute factor that latches onto each generation which is why it continues to flourish I'd guess. It doesn't matter how bad the games are.
  21. Yes there are two main reasons to build a time machine. #1 kill Hitler #2 buy classic video games
  22. Nintendo used to have their own museum/showroom at NOA headquarters. I believe this was all torn down after Reggie came into power. Woulda been a sight to see in-person.
