  1. Very happy to see you all keeping it around, even if I only had a chance to visit for 5 minutes.
  2. Glad you thought it was the coolest thing. It will be there again this year (but a different year).
  3. That's Canadian only store display. And French, not Spanish.
  4. Thanks to everyone who supported the 1st volume. The 2nd volume is being kickstarted now (along with a reprint of the 2nd volume): https://www.videogamesage.com/forums/topic/13527-fs-the-world-of-nintendo-book-volume-2-and-volume-1-reprint-kickstarter/
  5. So in case you didn't know, I created a book about The World of Nintendo. It's a visual history of Nintendo's early merchandising efforts during their heyday. The first print sold out, and so I created a Kickstarter to reprint the first volume, but is also to fund the creation of the second volume! So get on ordering volume 2 and volume 1 if you missed it. Check it out below: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wonbook/the-world-of-nintendo-book I have to fund it in 30 days and hoping people share this as much as possible to help me reach my goal. Thanks! -Andy
  6. No sorry. However, I just updated the thread with what is still available.
  7. Thanks for saying that. It took over a day to setup and 5 hours to tear down. But watching people enjoy it was rewarding. I noticed 3 kinds of people who visited: #1 Those who had no idea what was going on, but loved looking at it. #2 Collectors who knew what everything was and shared a common interest. #3 People who haven't been in a store like that since 1995 and didn't know if they ever would be again. And were happy to have their kids enjoy it. I was really trying to cater to the #3 group of people, but did not expect such a positive response. I lost count of the people who got down-right emotional. Saw tears in many an eye. One had to leave when talking to me as he couldn't hold it together. Here is are some pics on imgur with some comments. Sorry they aren't good. I should've brought a DSLR. https://imgur.com/a/IHOROTi
  8. Thanks for asking. There are always hiccups, still on track to ship it in estimated time-frame.
  9. Covers other aspects like Promotions and the World Class Service. But yes this is merchandising. The reason it doesn't go past 1990 is it is sequential and I wanted to cover as much as possible without making a gigantic book with information overload. There is a clear breaking point at the end of 1990 where SNES starts to pickup. And the company goes through some changes. The World of Nintendo program goes well through the SNES era into around 1996. The next volume will be about that too.
  10. I added a USPS medium flat rate box shipping option. Now max should be $14.99 in the US if you choose the economy.
  11. I noticed some high shipping rates, not sure what is up with that. I am looking into it.
  12. Volume 2 will be snes era, And Volume 3 n64 era (if I do a 3rd).
  13. Excited to announce the release of my book! Check it out... www.worldofnintendobook.com I think anyone interesting in Nintendo history, seeing nostalgic photos from the 80s and 90s, and collectors/admirers of this stuff will really love this book. A limited print run so pre-order now! Go to the website to read the FAQ FAQ – The World of Nintendo Book And subscribe while you are at it!
  14. This is a clip from a VHS tape that 'twas an invitation to Nintendo's 1993 company holiday party. Back when Nintendo was Nintendo. Goes live tonight, 8pm CST Dec 24th, so click the notification. You will enjoy it. More videos will follow on this channel so feel free to subscribe.
  15. I am looking for someone who has pictures of an NES M8. Most pictures online are pretty bad for what I need them for. I'm not asking you to post the pictures here, just message me if you can help. Thanks!
  16. I heard Ask Iwata was more business oriented, but maybe I should read it anyway. I find Nintendo's heyday much more interesting. Howard Phillips wrote lots of stuff. Never heard of Cthulhu? Seriously though Howard is writing a book:
  17. I'm sure it is interesting, but Arakawa is the one who needs to write a book. That is a story I want to read.
