  1. Not from the catalog, but I acquired this Secret of Evermore jacket awhile back. Thought you might like to see it. It says "I made it happen", which I believe refers to being one of the developers on the project. I think most likely this came from a former Nintendo employee who worked QA and had sold stuff on Ebay awhile back.
  2. What did you mean by this then? You mean you can choose from 6 super worlds to upload? I see how to string them together now. I missed that part of the interface. I thought it was only uploading a single world, and saw World/Super-World as the same at first. Yes that makes sense it's like Mario 3 overworld, but with SMW art style. That is more like a full game you can create and certainly better than I thought. I wonder why they went with the Mario 3 overworld. Go and read my original post I was saying you can't make SMW. At that point I didn't see how you could string worlds together. Now I see you can definitely make something more like Mario3, but in a limited way of course. None of the crazy logic that would require scripting of some sort.
  3. I'm not sure why you are getting so upset. I went back and read what I said and I guess I could have been more clear? I was confused when you said you could upload 6 worlds and then string them together. Felt like I was missing something in the interface so I doubled checked the reviews I read and tried to make multiple worlds. If you go back and read what I was saying its that it's limiting in that you can't make Super Mario World. You can only make what's circled below and not the whole image... I was probably using the wrong terminology. I consider "levels" the little dots and "worlds" whats in the squares. Like Yoshi's Island is a "World". If there is a way to do something like in the image above. I'd like to know how to do it. I think that's what everyone wants to be able to do. I mean I guess you can kind of do that by making 6 worlds and then playing them in order locally. But then that's not really sharing the same map, and you can only upload and share one of them. It completely makes sense for Nintendo to prevent you from doing it. Just was disappointing is all.
  4. I suppose you could download 6 super worlds from 6 different friends. That's probably what you are seeing?
  5. Someone with my exact name was profiled in an early issue of Nintendo Power. He looked a lot like me and was even doing a lot of the same stuff I was doing at the time (amateur game development). Totally freaked me out back then.
  6. How do you upload more than one world? And how do you "string them together" ? All the press confirms what I've said...
  7. You are using their IP, so I would say yes they own it entirely.
  8. Yeah imagine if someone made some mario game better than theirs. I assume thats why the limitations are there. Certainly there are no technical reasons.
  9. If only. You can only upload one world. It's still neat though.
  10. Yeah this is what I was hoping for, but its extremely limited. Basically you can recreate the first overworld screen of Super Mario World and thats it. You can't even upload multiple worlds. Nintendo doesn't want to allow this for obvious reasons. Too bad.
  11. Just tried the Super Worlds feature... Not all its cracked up to be. You have a very limited space to place your levels. There is no making of a Super Mario World or anything like that. It's just a fancy way to string together your levels, which certainly is nice., but disappointingly limited.
  12. oh sorry, should be fixed now.
  13. Yes there was a framed award given for 15 years of service around 2002. I can confirm that at least.
  14. Unfolded boxes were used in creating custom displays, but also to replace damaged boxes (for things that were not sealed, like systems and accessories). Here are some pics of some I've acquired from various places over the years.
  15. I don't think there will be any conventions of any sort until there is a vaccine... which is 12-18 months. Even when we flatten the curve you still have to maintain social distancing until herd immunity kicks in (via a vaccine or everyone gets it).
  16. Must feel amazing for Jason to start to get some closure to this. To all the "It was tweakers" vs. "it was a heist!".... It was tweakers then?
  17. I have one of the Mario awards for sale. This was given out around 1995. A fair amount of corrosion is present. Send me a PM with offers or questions. Thanks!
  18. I made another thread about this but I hope that someone can clear up what this is from. I went to all the E3's during this time period, but I can't remember if this was from E3 or if it was mailed with my Nintendo Power Subscription.
  19. The picture quality is really good on the M80c's RGB monitor if its calibrated properly. The tube is just better quality in general and a flat screen. These are built internally more like PC monitors of the time. The JVC's aren't really consumer TVs. They are the model of TVs that would have been in hotel rooms. Specifically made for displays that need to turn on without pressing the power button and other features. There actual tube is pretty standard consumer level though. Also RGB is far superior to s-video or there wouldn't be an entire sub-culture dedicated to it so I'm not sure what Aaron is on about. I find the RGB quality on the M80c's Zenith tube to be on near the quality of a 14" PVM that I have.
