  1. At this point let's just get back to life. Those who are concerned will continue with extra care and those who don't won't. I doubt we'll see mass attendence concerts or sporting events anymore in 2020 though. They've already documented the mutations so this is probably going to be a recurring thing for the rest of our lives. My daughter had Flu A this year and I won't be surprised if we come up with COVID19 A, B, C in later years. Those hoping and praying for a vaccine with 100% effectiveness are in for a rude disappointment.
  2. Aha and my old copy now comes to eBay at $6100 BIN OBO. I distinctly remember that tear on the top. Don't blame the guy for trying to sell at all, but I doubt we'd get a repeat of the sales price here. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Duo-Pack-Nintendo-GameCube-2003-Brand-New-Super-Monkey-Ball-Sonic-Heroes/202982381464
  3. Eh my advice, just don't take it personally. I don't understand the whole mentality of buying it for the collection but then immediately listing it for sale (even if price is obviously unreasonable) but people can do as they wish. Just ironically enough, people want what they can't have. You can have the rarest item in the world, but if is it always listed as available for sale, interest does diminish over time. You make the rare item appear a lot less rare by having it up.
  4. I beat it too... kinda meh, maybe 8/10 for me. I never played the first and I only play remakes when I missed out the first go around. It holds it's own even if you aren't familiar with the story, but not some mega RPG that it is hyped up to be. My thoughts: Pros: Combat. Very fluid and easy to follow. Character development. They push the stories of mid / minor characters and make the story more appealing. Music. Definitely engrossing and catchy. Cons: Quests are average at best. Downright brutal fetch quest at one point. The kill the random monster quests are the best ones, everything else is forgettable. Weapons / upgrades. I didn't get a real sense of excitement or accomplishment in finding weapons. They look a little different or add a unique skill but you could beat the whole game just using the standard weapons. Summons. They're powerful and cool, but only a few to choose from and only in certain battles. Neat but I'd like more of a variety or more frequent using. All in all, I'd say worth a play but not some epic game as I expected. I'll play through the next version whenever it comes out (I think), but this one is shelved permanently for me now.
  5. I suppose it depends on your definition of shilling. Shill bidding as I understand it is when the seller himself (via an alternate account) or an extremely close friend / family member of the seller is intentionally bidding on the items and boosting them to the max extend possible. Now if there is some completely random bidder who maybe owns a Gamecube set and is trying to boost the value of all the items, but has absolutely no affiliation with the seller, then that is not shill bidding. The effect could be the same, but this is completely outside of the seller control and unfair to cast him in a bad light. Shilling is a serious accusation and has a distinct connotation with a seller who is untrustworthy. There is no conclusive evidence here that is the case.
  6. For the record I also don't think the seller is shilling, actually disappointed someone would accuse him of that. When you run a lot of like items, as he has about 100 Gamecube items up, of course many people are going to bid on several. This is quite literally the best run of open auction Gamecube games to ever hit the market simultaneously. You're watching history and the seller timed it absolutely perfect. Gamecube hype is absolutely insane at the moment.
  7. One ended on eBay around $2-$2.5k IIRC about 3 to 4 months ago. Seller was member on NA maybe even here if he wants to chime in. That was your chance though, these items never go to auction and are always held at BIN OBO by a seller who wants to move.
  8. Nice stuff, didn't you just have a birthday too? GL with the move, my collection was in storage for a solid 18 months between moves and I know how it goes.
  9. As someone who owned this item in the past, I would bet a lot that this never dropping to $1000 again. It's legit rare and should always be at or above Pokemon Box pricing as a comparable. When I had one I spoke to multiple Gamecube collectors who needed it for their set, yet everyone drug their feet on pricing because there were "no sales to go off of". I sold it under $1k but most people I spoke to thought it was closer to $500 at the time. I can't say whether or not the current price level is legit without shills, but I would have expected at least $1500-$2k before bidding even started.
  10. That price is crazy already. I sold one maybe 2 years ago? Offered it to legit Gamecube collectors at the time and most of them were around $500 on it. Took an offer above that but nowhere near the current prices. I'm not yet convinced it is above and beyond the rarest of the 3 packs. I'd say Sonic Adventure is certainly the most common but Monkey Ball Duo is not easy either. All it takes it a bit of a drought and it will spike up too.
  11. About 45 left now... anyone got some available for sale?
  12. I'm going with W shaped recovery. Already up from bottoms but I expect to fall again, significantly, before we come out of this in 2021.
  13. I just got Animal Crossing to play through with my 5 year old. We had been playing Pokemon Yellow together and that worked well. Same thing applied on that one. Easy for them to walk around and battle but hard to upgrade Pokemon, use items, etc. Child can play but parents have to help for completion!
  14. You misread Bronty's post then. Your game isn't flawless. It has more than just corner pokes too, it has corner dents (more damage) and whitened corners (more damage than just a tiny corner poke). I think Bronty was slightly too generous saying the game in question could be 85 if flawless otherwise... I think the amount of creasing looks more like 80+ or perhaps 80+/85 borderline "if the rest was flawless". A VGA 75 game has a LOT of wear, a LOT. Corners matter a lot and your Breath of Fire has signfiicant corner wear on almost all of the visible corners.
  15. GVN has been a joke for the last month or two (at least, likely longer). Crashes all over, lists not loading and now this is icing on the cake. I only use PC and eBay completed these days. PC algorithm wasn't quite as good as GVN but it is infinitely better than the site these days. Also use watchcount for the actual sale price of a OBO item if it was within the last 3 months.
  16. I said I was done buying them mid last year and stopped around $8 or $9. I only bought at $3 ($3.27 to be exact) because of the double bottom with the recent $3 low. I expected support there. When it dipped into the $2s and broke that support there was no clear buy signal, you were just either on the ride or on the sideline. It is impossible to predict an exact bottom, you just pull the trigger when you feel comfortable getting in.
  17. Man GME is going to be the bane of my existance. Dumped my $3.27 shares from last week at $4.50 yesterday. Happy with that week return, and offset the gain by dumping some old $11.50 shares I had. Just wanted to reduce my GME position and put that into FDX. Then today GME is up around $5.80 at the time of this post. I still have a lot of shares averaged around $10 or so and believe in them long term but with so many things to buy these days I want to diversify more. I really thought GME was doomed to channel between $3 and $5 for awhile but with it breaking through $5 who knows. I should have doubled down a lot harder around $3 but didn't want to put more money into a loser than necessary. Even in coronavirus I still think the stock is a strong buy around $3-$3.50 if anyone gets another chance there.
  18. I missed FFVII the first time around as an N64 kid. A friend had it and I saw him play it sometimes but obviously not the same as playing yourself. So far I'm about 5 hours into the remake and it feels pretty amazing to me. It's more of an action RPG than turn based and I'm finding that very enjoyable. I definitely recommend it so far.
  19. Had both as a kid and DKR Is by far superior for 1 player, agreed. Overworld, more of a story, the infamous boss battle at the end, etc. But in terms of nostalgia appeal and what made more of a lasting impact on me? MK. The multiplayer in that game was second to none for whatever reason.
  20. I've dipped in my toes over the last week or two, established longs in KSS, BUD, CAKE, GME, SPY and XOM. I fully expected the market to go lower but all of those are up since I bought. At some point you just start dipping in your toes gradually and see what happens.
