  1. I don't trust VGA's expertise across everything they grade or case security. I don't trust Wata's quality assurance, their higher seal grades can be dicey, and their cases are often like twice as big as they need to be. Everyone is too expensive and takes too long Sight unseen, I'd trust a high VGA grade to be actually near mint and displayed in a nice case if it was the condition I cared about. Sight unseen, I'd trust Wata to authenticate some obscure unlicensed NES seal variant if it was the authenticity I cared about. Obviously even then, neither is perfect. In either case, I try to evaluate the game best I can myself rather than rely on the brand. Grades are overrated. All these scales and psychological 9.0s and A+ grades and VGA 90s are literally all just made up.
  2. Saw is my favorite. I look forward to the insane retcons, dumbass characters, and dramatic flashbacks overexplaining the twist even. They're sure not all good movies (the first one sure is!) but I love 'em.
  3. Show us your pet dressed up for Halloween Here's my chi Ponyo wearing his sombrero for Halloween. I told him adopting a stereotypical ethnographic icon as a Halloween costume is cultural appropriation and he told me to shut up, he's from Chihuahua so he's gonna wear his cool sombrero to celebrate Halloween.
  4. That Chucky blu-ray set was released before the 2019 reboot! It's no longer complete. Banned.
  5. Some cool data from Gixen showing the most popular categories to snipe. Trading cards alone are quarter of Gixen's snipes. Records which beats out video games which I thought was surprising. Comics bringing up the rear below wristwatches! https://www.gixen.com/blog/what-buyers-buy-on-ebay/
  6. oh my goodness. oh no. my life.
  7. 9/10. I can't beat it, but it's innovative and fun. I love old games that don't neatly fit into a common genre. Sure it's a boxing game or pattern recognition game, but there aren't 100 other NES games that are virtually interchangeable with it. The graphics are also crazy good for NES, with the most expressive characters on the system. I also think part of the lasting appeal is the mix of muscle memory and reaction speed needed. As a kid I used to think MTPO was like Dragon's Lair where you learn a screen/opponent then just go on autopilot going through the correct motions, but after playing as an adult I realize the game is much deeper than that. Tiny bits of RNG mean you can't be completely on autopilot and learning when to obtain and use star punches gives lots of opportunity to improve your scrub strats on earlier stages.
  8. How crazy is it that on Wikipedia's list of games notable for negative reception there are only 5 games from the 80s. Out of the horseshit released in the 80s, Friday the 13th is on that list?? Really???
  9. Castlevania II has the most views. Officially the most hated game of all time! I'll say I think ET is not great! It's like the opposite of Little Samson. I think LS gets some undue hate for being a default beloved NES game and ET has its jankiness over-defended for being the default worst game ever. Since Atari fans generally don't hate ET, maybe it's not actually the most universally disliked game. Even N64 fans who have actually played it know Superman sucks. I might go Superman? I would rule out so bad its good stuff like Action 52 or Plumbers Don't Wear Ties since people play those for enjoyment. Just like The Room is one of the "worst movies ever", but everyone watches it because it's so enjoyable. A paradox!
  10. They gotta print those boxes before they can sell them.
  11. Excuse me, I know styrofoam variants go deeper than this. Can you clarify?
  12. You're not excited for the hot sellers list?? Better get those GTA trilogy variants on PS2, the hottest video games on the planet!!!
  13. Are they finally adding the concert poster price and variant guide or are they going to pivot to VHS already?
  14. Just like SE, the right time will be a few decades from now when everyone who cares is dead, lol. My game collecting strategy is going to be living forever so I can finally cash in on cool rare 80s junk. I also would guess it's worth more than $3k loose, but at the same time it boggles my mind the price increases we've seen and that Sachen lot continues to not sell. Even multiple Sachen bros I talk to are like "Oh yeah yeah, I'm gonna get that"... yet there it sits unsold with some of the absolute rarest Nintendo games ever made while Day Dreamin Davey has apparently become a 5 figure game. Stuff without shrink wrap is just garbage these days.
  15. 9/10 from what I remember but I haven't seen this movie since I watched it on VHS 20 years ago so take that for what it's worth. A horror benchmark for me. I love the whole trilogy and would quote them while playing any horror games with my friends.
  16. I've had a saved search for this for YEARS hoping for a clueless BIN to pop up. This is the only hit it's ever received, unfortunately an auction! Very rare Saturn disc. Good luck to any serious Sega collectors out there https://www.ebay.com/itm/324813578623
  17. International Superstar Soccer and Hagane I gave up on and just found the best I could. I remember looking at a while for a King of the Ring on NES. Are all the Acclaim games junk, is that a thing?
  18. I'm down for a "trade" event but I imagine there will be a bunch of hoarders like me who just want to buy rare things
  19. I mean I’m playing on PC at least, I’m not a monster
  20. Same. I ruined my wrist playing these games so it's nice I can play D2 with a controller now, even if I prefer a mouse. I've tried setting up scripts and tools to play Diablo II with a controller in the past, even just the gameplay parts, but all of them were pretty limited. The controls kind of work! Although inventory management is slow.
  21. With that awful spine fading? I literally don’t believe it
  22. Kirby 64. Not as good as Adventure or Dream Course. Not quite as boring as Dream Land or Epic Yarn. Just an in the middle Kirby game.
  23. Haven’t Madden and FIFA turned into this weird blob of monetization, advertising, and gacha mechanics as time went on? That would be like if AC/DC morphed into Kiss. Dizzy follows a similar path to Mega Man with a modern throwback game and unchanging style. The eighth Dizzy game that came out a year ago is on ZX Spectrum like the first 7 main games.
  24. The items don’t matter in this market. The grades do.
