  1. Having dogs is nothing like having kids. I love my dogs. PS This is a joke, pease don't tell my wife.
  2. Last week I had the urge to buy stuff, some of the same stuff as you, but then I just decided not to and I'm ok with that.
  3. I took a break from the Dragon Quest series and played LoZ: Link Between Worlds on the 3DS. Technically it's only the second Zelda game I've ever completed. I was ok, not much of a story, and pretty easy. Next up, DQ III on the Switch.
  4. The Game Boy was the first gaming system I ever owned, so it will always be one of my favorite systems. I was super jealous of my cousin's Game Boy Pocket, despite the major ghosting issues it had. I went straight from GB to GBC. While I completely agree with your list, I'd have to move Link's Awakening from HM to #1. More of my absolute favorites would include Kirby Pinball Land, Motocross Maniacs, Pokemon R/B, and Donkey Kong.
  5. I finished DQ IX last night and am moving on to Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. I think this year I'll be focusing on using my 3DS XL to catch up on a lot of both DS and 3DS games.
  6. I beat Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies last night. I liked it, but not as much as DQ VIII (which I beat last month). It's lacking a main villain and makes a lot of the game feel a little aimless. DQ games do this a lot, where most of the game is built around smaller vignettes, but the stakes felt much lower in this one. The final boss's name is first mentioned about 75% into the game and you meet him for the first time about 2 hours before the credits. It only took 37 hours, which is pretty short. This one has no set roster, you create your own team like DQ III or FF I. I modeled my team after specific characters that required specific weapon choices that probably took an extra 5 hours of grinding, so it could have been even shorter. I'd like to play it again someday on an emulator so I can upscale the graphics and mod in the orchestral OST.
  7. Pokemon Crystal, Zelda Oracles, and Warlocked. I'm an RPG fan and was 13 when the GBC came out so I love it. Unfortunately my hands can't handle it for more than 20 minutes now.
  8. I finished Dragon Quest VIII on 3DS yesterday and am considering playing DQ IX next.
  9. I exclusively pee sitting down, makes it kind of weird to use urinals, but whatever.
  10. Some more games from the Japanese direct that are expected to get a western release A remake of the very first Atelier game slated for this winter Horror adventure game also releasing on steam 3/8/23
  11. I just finished The Handmaid's Tale ny Margaret Atwood last night, not sure what's next.
  12. Fatal Frame II: Director's Cut The original released on PS2, but a year later they released the DC version on Xbox. "The director's cut added in several updates, including a first-person play mode, a survival mode, a new ending, enhanced graphics, and a greater number of alternate costumes to unlock." Plus it looks better and the audio got bumped up to 5.1 Dolby surround for extra spookiness. I think it's enough new content to warrant a look, and it hasn't seen any kind of updated/release in the west.
  13. I've been meaning to play it on Game Pass. I was looking for a shorter game a few weeks ago as school was starting back up, but Chained Echoes just came out and I started playing that instead. It's 40+ hours, for figure. Maybe spring break.
  14. A demo was released on the eShop yesterday for DQ Treasures. It's pretty short but you get some bonus items and your save carries over.
  15. I'm about 8 hours in playing through game pass on my steam deck and completely agree.
  16. A. Keep it simple. As all the extra editing seems like a quick way to get burnt out. B. I think YT likes 10+ minute videos so I'd shoot for 10-12. Maybe for more in-depth topics you could do 15-20, but bloated videos are a quick turn off. I typically watch videos at 1.25x speed because people talk so slow possibly to pad the runtime. C. 1-2 videos a week. D. I'd be most interested in Taiwan related stuff, but try out a couple different formats and see what clicks with you and your audience. E. Yes.
  17. Maybe that's why they shadow dropped it. I've haven't picked it up yet but I've seen lots of other people complaining about similar issues.
  18. Cool, I was hoping to get Codenames. Never played any form of it but I know people love it.
  19. I'm playing it on Game Pass right now, looks great and plays great. The running speed is so fast, which is great for exploring but it's easy to miss hidden paths.
  20. Them's the good old days. I first got into collecting around 2005 and I printed that whole guide up, threw it in a binder, and would take it with me whenever I went out into the wild.
