i have no problem with the for sale thread. i just thought it was funny that my avatar was taken down but SELLING porno (actual titties, sex and the such) is ok lol. but again i have no issue with that thread and hope it stays.

i understand your angle though. i also understand you guys cant stay on top of everything perfectly fair though and are only doing your best and i appreciate that.

i do wonder how you all decide whats ok and whats not. i mean is it possible if i report an avatar, i have to live with your decision if you guys think its ok even though i may find it uncomfortable?

I feel uncomfortable that your avatar looks like a bootleg Fantastic 4 logo. Can you do something about that?

I found a serious rarity in a local craft beer store. A 2009 vintage Schneider Aventinus. I have no idea when I will actually drink it. What I will be enjoying shortly is an Ayinger celebrator. A fabulous doppelbock, one of the finest in the world.

Any other fans of Belgian or German beers?

@Kguillemette wow nice find! I haven't had aventinus but to find an 11 year old bottle at the store is super cool.

I love celebrator, haven't had it in years. Definitely a fan of belgian and German stuffff.

With the virus, finding good Germans has been tough. And American craft breweries distributed around here tend to not make German styles outside of hefeweizens and basic lagers, so I can't even get american takes on German beers. I've been able to find Kostrizer, which is a lovely Swartzbier, but that's been about it. No paulaner, Hofbrau, Ueridge, none of them goodies!

On the other hand, Belgians are everywhere! And many north American breweries focus on Belgian styles. You have Ommegang, Unibroue, and allagash to name a few. It's fun to take in creative american takes on Belgian styles.

Problem is I don't often want an overtly complex beer with tons of different flavors with blended hops. I like Germans because they are specifically brewed to style. In fact, there is only one brewery in New England that focuses on German styles, Von Trapp out of Stowe, VT. Then of course you have Rogue Dead Guy, which is a Maibock made from Ale Yeast, and Long Train Double Bag, which is an Altbier. I miss Virginia breweries where they all took stabs at fine German styles.
