  1. Its a gimmick from an old school worker! Living the gimmick. I mean I see right thru it and how great it is. Someone who's just riding coat tails about how great he is. Read his IG captions, its phenomenal and so entertaining. He's also being managed (or was) by Eric Simms. At one point he was a teacher in Pittsburgh where he's from and apparently a really nice and straight laced guy. Right before I went to go talk to him a family came up and gave him some money for a pic and he spent a lot of time with him and the kids just being very genuine.
  2. DK and DK Jr were all re-printed in late 87 for Xmas. That should be the source for ALL 3 screw DKs. DK Jr. Math was NEVER reprinted AFAIK. Every 3 screw DK Jr Math has had a date code of 86 which is where they were all printed the first time.
  3. I met Virgil at wrestlecon. I gave him $10 just to say I gave him money. I didn't even ask for anything. We BS'ed for a bit and told him I love the gimmick and only if he could have used it back in the day haha. We had a nice convo then he started working me a bit and that was that. Nothing crazy but some over the top tales about Vince. His gimmick now is money, literally.
  4. Im impressed! As I said I beat some really tough games because they usually 'click' and I just chip away at it. Like Silver Surfer, Ninja Gaiden 3, and im sure a few others I can't remember. That game just NEVER clicked with me. Usually a game doesn't give me a ton of challenge and I can put it away within a week. So I chose that one as I SHOULD be able to beat, as its not as hard as others that I haven't beaten but for whatever reason it just doesn't click with me. Heck Mega Man 1 I beat a few months ago on a Playchoice-10!
  5. I agree with this. I've beaten plenty of NES games and either I thought it was 'fair' or a really difficult learning curve. Sometimes the game is really easy up until the end and you basically have to be perfect in X Y and Z in order to have an easy time at the end. There ARE a few games that IMO take waaaayyy too much time that I feel its not worth it to invest that much time memorizing these games. As a kid I figured out everything in Manaic Mansion because I only had a handful of games, so with some of those difficult games if you got it as a kid, thats all you had and all you had to do. But IMO thats the ONLY way you can do it. Ikari Warriors, Adventure Island, Battletoads all come to mind as games that take an EXTREME amount of memorization in order to beat and when you can beat it, you look like a god. Games like Contra, Ninja Gaiden 1 2 3 etc ALL have these elements but they're usually very few. "Wait a second here cuz a bat flies over a pit", "At the beginning of this stage jump immediately to the left". That kind of stuff.
  6. Im really surprised a lot of people are saying Mario. TBH I couldn't beat it until I was in the 6th grade. Yet I know two people that beat TMNT and Battletoads respectively as kids and that just BLEW my mind. I don't find those classic "NES" games hard as an adult personally, but as a kid who they aimed those games toward... hell yeah they were hard.
  7. Ghost n Goblins for NES. It just doesn't click for me. But I love Super Ghouls n' Ghosts for SNES and i've beaten it. I think it might be by favorite SNES game so far.
  8. Had I seen this I wouldn't have created the topic on my bands Castlevania cover.
  9. One of those chips was made in 1984, the other was 1986 so I doubt it was 'faked' (Although not impossible). Id say it was a good chance of being refurbished.
  10. I just realized I never posted this here. But maybe some of you'll dig this. IMO it doesn't suck. We've been playing this live a LOT and always gets a good response. PS All game footage was captured directly from my games. CV 1,2,3 were from my AVS, SotN was from my Xbox One and Super Castlevania is from my SNES Classic.
  11. Difficulty is such a weird thing. If its something that I know I can do, but don't want to spend hours and hours memorizing and practicing, i'm not into it. Id rather let my 'skill' do the work. Which is why I haven't TRULY beaten Adventure Island (I did with a game genie, just to get to level 8 after playing for 2 hours and getting tired), or Ikari Warriors or Battletoads. So for that I salute you all.
  12. I haven't missed an NWA episode. I dig it every time. Also they're coming out with a retro video game? Thats awesome.
  13. I don't mind that TBH. A lot of it is trying to get over in some way and usually the easiest way is the cheapest or most 'controversial' way. But if the product is treated serious I'm into it even though I know whats going on. It seems like a lot of wrestlers are using the cheapest way of getting over with controversial, 'disrespectful' gimmicks, over the top moves or spots. Im not into it.
  14. Its a fad and it'll go away until he 'sheds' it and becomes normal. The issue I have with all that stuff is the entire business was built on respect. Ask HHH during those Tough Enough tapings. Guys like Race, the Funks, Brisco, Piper, The Sheik etc, went out of their way to protect the business and the next gen had to come in and not only do the same, but show respect to the people that came before them for what they gave and had done. These kinds of things to me spit in the face of all of that. Guys were stabbed, beaten, families threatened all to protect and respect the business of wrestling. Id love to see those guys now talk about whats going on. It didn't hurt that those guys were real freaking tough guys. Im not even a huge fan of that older stuff but as a fan I respect it cuz I respect wrestling. Is that weird?
  15. Beating Metal Slug 3 with 1 death, or not dying on level 5. That or beating Mutant Virus but thats just an endurance test.
  16. I wont be watching but i'll follow on twitter haha. Also I skimmed thru the Saudi show. Its real odd because for all the fucked up stuff there, there ARE people there that just want to have fun and entertain so seeing the womens match was great. Id also reckon for the wrestlers THEMSELVES, they must be thrilled that they get the reactions they WANT from the crowd, instead of the smarky ones going against the grain (Heels being booed, faces cheered etc). Also makes sense what happened since it WAS halloween.
  17. That doesn't bother me, thats their business. The issue is that the WWF is in a weird position where they're trying to cater to young fans AND smarks. When I was a kid it was all Hogan and I loved it. When I was a teen it was all Austin and I loved it. Now they're PG for the kids who buy merch, but are trying to also cater to smarks where AEW is all smark. You really can't have both. I think the best thing they should do is not to micromanage talent so much and let the ones get over on their own with their promos. Give more power to the wrestlers like how it used to be. Thats what I like about NWA. The wrestlers seem so natural and not overproduced.
  18. It should be a sound everyone loves to hear and hear every time
  19. Interesting. Ill have to see it! The WWF network is the greatest thing because I can watch everything I want from 83 - 99. But once and a while i'll pop on something big just to see what happens.
  20. You're totally right. I was at that WM and the place BLEW UP. Wrestling fans are the worst and they're the ones killing it and I dunno if they even know it. I just watch what I watch and enjoy. I dont put in my two cents and wanna see how things play out. I dont follow the WWF or any show except the NWA but it just baffling to me how everyone thinks they know what to do and what they wanna see. I think its a respect thing. I went to wrestlecon this year and talked to Jerry Lynn for like a half hour (who's such an INCREDIBLY nice guy BTW) and I told him how awkward it was for me to use 'wrestling lingo' to a wrestler, and the only reason why I did it is because he was using it first. I told him it was just out of respect. I think thats whats missing, but I dunno. I really hope good things come out of this whole thing and I think it will EVENTUALLY.
  21. I agree. Me though, I dont know who to 'blame'. I think the flashy moves are ridiculous and its tiring every time. But who do I blame? The wrestlers or the fans? The fans want it and the wrestlers give it to them. I love Vince, and once he goes, I think you'll see the WWF back to prominence. I call it the WWF cuz thats what I grew up with haha.
