  1. That's possible but I can only imagine this would only be for low print Nintendo releases. I would imagine every third party publisher would print as much as they felt they could sell and reprint if needed. If this IS the case, it would be extremely hard to figure out which games could be refurbs or legit releases. I like to think of games that were 'legit' releases because it makes it easier to track, then have oddball 'one offs', which I would include this in that group. Just my two cents.
  2. Im not saying it doesnt exist, im saying that it could just be a one off, or just like the others some kind of refurb because if it has been reprinted, there would be way more. The other rare variants all have multiple copies all with corroborating date codes printed. The only thing I could believe is that they DID have extra chips and boards and put them out again in late 87 and use whatever parts they had available.
  3. I dunno, I don't feel confident on it because there has been no evidence ever of a reprint from its initial mid 86 release. If we could get those date codes id be more than happy to eat my words. Anyone want to lose thousands of dollars for a minor piece of evidence? It could just be a one of a kind. EDIT. I guess theres no way one can get any pics from the 3 screw DK Maths from NA? I can't recall if it was a PM or on the boards. I know I had him message me about 3 screw Stinger so I could be confusing which one was sent as a PM and which one was uploaded to the board. Who wants to do research on NES Gansta?
  4. Stadium Events absolutely makes sense as it was printed in that transition period. Being its so rare obviously there arent any copies but since SE has one print run I could see it being both 3 and 5. I dont have the pictures for DK Math but I had NES Gansta send them to me on the old forum. I was able to verify it since he couldn't read date codes and every 3 screw was from the original print run in mid 86. As ive stated a few times already, all RARE 3 screw black box games (Gyro, DK, DKJr, Volleyball, maybe one more?) all were reprinted in late 87 for xmas time I believe. So I would say if 3 screw Soccer, DK Jr Math exist, it should have been printed around that time and since none have popped up at all, I would assume they were not as they were either low sellers or there were quite a few out there already. Volleyball certainly is the oddball though.
  5. All 3 screw DK Maths were from the original mid-86 print run. 5 screw RC pro am was printed in early 88 and would make it the only 5 screw game printed in 88. I think there was only 1 found so that tells me refurb, personally.
  6. No but I had a little green book I wrote every home run I hit in RBI Baseball 3 with who and how far. I was at about 550ish when I stopped I think. Id hit plenty in one game cuz I always used the AL all stars haha.
  7. I only watched the wrestling one and it was FANTASTIC. I loved it so much I wanna see other episodes even for toys I never cared for.
  8. I think any scale would be fine if the limits have been defined, like you said. R1 - found in 50, R2 - found in 100, R3 - found in stores, R4 - one or two in stores, R5 - Found in stores once a year, etc. Something like that.
  9. Ah ok cool. BTW I feel any of the 'rare' games that got a full page spread in Nintendo Power should be bumped down a bit compared to others. Here's my two cents on anything that sticks out that should be higher or lower, starting from the rarest: Swamp Thing - Higher (There was someone that made a list of all the games mentioned in Nintendo Power and this one was one of the few that ever even got a mention anywhere.) Stanley - Higher Shadow of the Ninja - Lower Monster Party - Lower Volleyball - Lower Ultimate Air Combat - Higher Three Stooges - Lower Space Shuttle Project - Higher Last Ninja - Higher Gumshoe - Lower Championship Pool - Higher (Pretty sure this was a nov 93/jan 94 release)
  10. I gotta look thru this but Volleyball and Ultimate Air Combat a 5? Volleyball should probably be like a 3 and Ultimate Air Combat a 7. Its not expensive but its really uncommon. I think in 7 years ive seen only ONE in a store.
  11. I thought it was something small like it didnt have the copyright date or something. Next time quote me so I know you replied! haha
  12. Just remembering now and need some clarification on this. The GOLD Punch Out came first without Tyson. THEN the US version with Tyson, THEN the japanese version with Tyson correct? And the japanese version is a bit different than the US on the title? It seems awfully strange when all the black box famidapter ones are identical to the US releases, even after the xmas 85 fiasco.
  13. There is some debate with this because IIRC NES Gansta was the ONLY person to find 3 Screw Stingers and they all had the same print code date as the 5. BUT someone said they had sold a rev-a sealed Stinger, or something like that. We couldn't find pictures but it seems to be INCREDIBLY strange it would have such a low run. Any of the rarer 3/5 screw games they are more 'abundant'. Im always suspect with any game where theres only like 3 known copies. If it was reprinted there should be PLENTY more. Just like the Mike Tyson with the fami adapter. It just DOESN'T make sense at all there is only one. There should be at least a few more. Also would be easy to spot because it would be impossible to add the screw in the middle since it doesn't have the space for it unlike all the other fami adapter 5 screw games (Hogans Alley, Pinball, etc)
  14. I got one of these at my job. I was so disappointed because I was hoping it was colored like the store with a purple bell button :(. The one they have is so... boring.
  15. Im surprised they dont have a section where there's one level or element of the game that has shmup elements like Vice Project Doom and Dragon Fighters last level.
  16. Maybe, dont know that one off the top of my head but I'll take your word. I should clarify that if any 5 screw game was reprinted, the reprints were not done in the 'active' 3 screw era (late summer of 87 I think). Also those are the earliest 3rd party published titles which also make sense they're dipping their toe in the pool for the new game system.
  17. All those 5 screw games should have only had one print and were never reprinted later (Stinger, Gumshoe, MUSCLE, Stack Up, Sqoon, Chubby Cherub, maybe one more?). All the rarer 3 screw games (Volleyball, DK, DKJr, Gyro) were all reprinted very late 1987. I think a 3 screw Soccer was found but either it was a refurb or Canadian. I can't recall. But if it was reprinted, you should be darn sure one would have popped up by now, as they all would be 3 screw and at least a few thousand.
  18. Its been 'theorized' but not one has ever surfaced. Id say after this long, it probably was never made. People also think theres a 5 Screw RC Pro Am but im very positive it was a refurb. I think only one copy exists.
  19. You should know "never" NEVER really means "never".
  20. I didn't but my friend did. I did call that finish, it made the most sense.
  21. Haha those women would even look at me. Pretty good job though, nothing really flashy just playing the parts well.
  22. Just a side note, if you can get this I would love you forever.
  23. Ah ok I was confused looking it up. They must of moved quick cuz I think it was only a year ago? Nov of 18
