  1. ah yes, enjoy your 3D, Superman 64 (aka Flying Through Hoops Simulator) while i play my action platforming games on my good ol' pixely 8-bit system : ) as for the actual point of this thread, OP is forgetting and or not taking into account the fact that us 30+ year old folks, got everything a little bit later over here in Europe.
  2. for the record..... not all codes mean that carts were ONLY sold in said country.... over here in The Netherlands, we also had NOE and FRG releases, as well as the Asian (DMG-TR-ASI) version, just like with the NES releases. for NES, we even had some ESP releases in stores as well, such as Rodland.
  3. that is the Dutch/French/Belgian release...... in that condition it's worth anywhere from 148-236 US dollars depending on the inserts and state of the cartridge.... this white round seal quality version should have: - code on inside flaps of the box NES-ZL-FAH - 3 screw cartridge white round seal of quality with code NES-ZL-FRA (FAH code on back) - dust cover with red Nintendo letters - Manual with code NES-ZL-FAH* (or NES-ZL-FAH-1) - Zelda Map with code NES-ZL-FAH
  4. it's okay, most people would never go for that..... even us Europeans DON'T count that one as part of the set, even though there are a few people who might want it. for me, when i started in 2012, i NEEDED to have a complete copy of Stadium Events (PAL version) , because it felt like a great show off piece to have, and has some fun history behind it. my other obsession was to have a complete PAL B copy of Monster in My Pocket, as i found it a nice challenge to try and get the plastic monster for it that came in the box when you bought that game. i don't know what it's at now, but just the loose monster alone cost like 90-120 US dollars back in 2013? ish........
  5. corrected your list, as this is more accurate, Snowboard Challenge is not as rare as you Americans think it is.... Ultimate Air Combat, the Spanish released version (not the UK release) is almost NEVER offered, The Miracle Piano cart is also almost never offered, if you want that one, you need to buy the complete piano, just to re-sell the piano again, afterwards......
  6. you are saying that as if you expect them to know EVERY GB collector in existence.....
  7. the only weirdness i got, is that i swear i used to play and have Shadow Warriors (Ninja Gaiden) on the GB, why? because i DO have the manual.... but somehow i don't have the game itself? where did it go? did i ever actually have it? if not, where and when did i ever get just the manual then? i have it since the '90s too, so it's not like it was a later bulk lot i got it in or something, as i was not even aware until 2007ish that people even collected old video games such as NES/SNES/GB.
  8. always ask questions before buying though.... especially for high priced lots or items. buying blindly from just looking at the pictures, is never a good idea. often people don't even know what they are selling, so they just tag it with something. i've seen lots of sellers who offer loose NES games as CIB ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. i'm going to stick to old skool titles..... as a kid i beat Super Mario Land & Kirby's Dream Land on the GB, the most times of all the games i had back then....
  10. back in 2014? or so, there was a Scandinavian poster/seller on NA he seemed legit, and we agreed on a price for 2 NES games that were only released with the SCN codes. Gold Medal Challenge '92 & RC Pro-AM II which at that point were way more difficult to find here, after paying, he kept making excuses one after the other regarding on shipping them out, always things like "i had someone else go the post office for me to ship em to you...bla...bla...bla" 4 or 5 months after constant complaining that i still had not received them, i FINALLY got a package randomly delivered, it was 1 of the 2 games, badly wrapped in sturdy brown paper with an adres on it. i was shocked that the game itself was not damaged during shipping. and it was indeed in the promised condition. but in the end, i NEVER received RC Pro-AM II.
  11. sure, the graded stuff might be in cases that you need to break open if you wanted to, but the normal buyable CGA acrylic cases have a slide on the bottom, otherwise how would you even put your game in?
  12. so a PAL cart with a USA label? it's possible though.... does not have to be fake or anything. same thing here with Athletic World on the NES. which also exists over here with a USA coded front label, and a HOL coded backlabel.
  13. DuckTales on the NES........ people always praise this one, and yet, when i play..... - the bees in the jungle stage keep respawning, even on easy mode. - the snow goats...... impossible to not get hit... i keep turning that game off, because of these reasons... i didn't grow up with game, so i also have no nostalgia for it...
  14. another that never got released is Tengen's Police Academy for the NES
  15. my first CIB or rather NIB game (as it was newly store bought) was Lolo 2
  16. as a European, i can vouch for Astérix a good platformer, that can be beaten in less than an hour. but still has a good difficulty.
  17. when i started collecting and seeing all the games i never knew existed back then, i made a list of all the games i remember having played when the NES/SNES was still in stores etc... and the games i owned myself. not counting GB games, because i had/have around 30 now, but even back then, i had 2 nephews of similar age to me who had like 50 GB games......which at that point seemed amazing to me, as i only had around 10 games in total.... which was pretty much: myself: Nintendo Entertainment System - Action Set , SMB/Duck Hunt , SMB2 , SMB3 , Donkey Kong Classics , The Addams Family , Ghostbusters II , Shadow Warriors II , Adventures of Lolo 2 , Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles , Mega Man 2 neighborhood friends: SMB 2, Gremlins 2? , Blades of Steel , Arch Rivals , Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles my aunt: Nintendo Entertainment System - Action Set , SMB/Duck Hunt , Tetris , ?NES Open Tournament Golf? nephews (brothers) : only remember playing Super Mario Bros. 3 at their house, and seeing World 8 for the first time. guy from school: Donkey Kong Classics , WWF Wrestlemania Steel Cage Challenge some random kid i don't remember: Super Mario Bros. 3 neighbor: Sega Megadrive 2 , Mortal Kombat II , James Pond, X-men , Sonic 2, Street Fighter II , PlayStation 1, Mortal Kombat II? for PS1, Resident Evil PS1 game other nephew: Super Nintendo + Super Mario World friend: Super Nintendo + Super Mario kart old PC games i played when they were new: Commander Keen? , Duke Nukem 2? , Castle of Wolfenstein 3D (normal and christmas version) Doom II , Lemmings, The Lion King, Supaplex , Grand Theft Auto, Grand Theft Auto 1969
