  1. Okay, so I haven't played every N64 game (yet), so there may be worse, but I have a couple that I know are absolutely garbage tier. For starters, Batman Beyond is a shallow, underdeveloped game, which may not be as outright BROKEN as Superman 64, but it is incredibly lazy, poorly designed and criminally lacking in content. It's a VERY straightforward beat-em-up with ZERO original ideas or ambition, but even then it's very poorly executed. At least Superman had ambition for greater things, even if they didn't pan out. However, the absolute worst games on the system IMO are Elmo's Letter Adventure and Elmo's Number Journey. Now, I know what you're thinking, hold on, those are kid's games, of COURSE they suck. But seriously. Not only do they suck, indeed, each being a small collection of REALLY basic and boring minigames (which wouldn't be fun even if you WERE 5 or whatever), but the simple fact that these TWO carts were released for FULL PRICE EACH with content that TOGETHER would be considered sparse really takes the cake. I think that abuse really needs to be called out, even if you don't need to pay full price these days. Other than that, there are a lot of games I would consider bad, like Starshot or a bunch of the sports and/or fighting games, but they aren't OFFENSIVELY bad like the above examples. Some of these may or may not be as bad as Superman. Actually, once I REALLY give Superman a proper go, I'm kinda hoping it lands somewhere in the sweet-spot of "so bad it's good" territory, like Carmageddon 64, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue or Monster Truck Madness. What I've played of it so far, it has potential for me to hit that spot, I DO actually really like playing super bad games now and then, lol!
  2. I intend to stand off at some distance, alone, wearing a black brimmed hat, and carrying a mysterious briefcase. As the rain starts to pour down and the priest and rest of the mourners disperse, I will slowly stride towards your grave, black umbrella held aloft. Once I am upon your final resting place, I will check that I remain unobserved before placing a single red rose on your gravestone along with an unmarked envelope. The note inside the envelope comprises three words: "Morby did it." RIP in peace, friend.
  3. Although I HAVE played this game for maybe an hour or so, I haven't played nearly enough of it to make a judgement. I intend to fully playthrough this game at some point, so I'm going to hold off on my judgement until then. However, based on what I HAVE played of the game thus far, it's definitely NOT the worst N64 game IMO.
  4. Wait, there's a game on DS about fucking horses? Asking for a friend...
  5. Alright, let's see it then!
  6. I don't believe so! How's it going?
  7. IMO, if you're not self-motivated enough to keep going with the project without the vague support of a bunch of internet randos, then you've basically got no shot at finishing it in the first place. I say, just get on with it and do it, if you can, and show us your progress. If you produce something worthwhile, then you can attract people's interest. Right now you're basically blowing smoke.
  8. Nah, I'd say the biggest hurdle is actually making a new videogame system from scratch. It's, like, very hard, and OP has not provided any evidence of his ability to do so thus far. People talking about marketing, and sales volume and this and that, and the dude has nothing on the table other than a photo of a famiclone and a crack pipe.
  9. Can you post some screenshots of some of the games you are working on, so I can get an idea of the style of game you're talking about? I really want to see what you have in mind here.
  10. Have you got a game up and running on the spec hardware yet? Are we talking the kind of 8 bit style graphics, or something more advanced like we'd see from SNES, MD or even higher?
  11. Do you have a fully working prototype of the system, or is it entirely theoretical at this point? There seems to be many aspects of this system that are still undecided. How long do you think it would take to produce a full working prototype of this system?
  12. Nice little pick-up today! I don't have a particularly large collection of CIB N64 games in the NTSC-U format, but I saw a really good deal on one of my favorites, so I figured I'd treat myself!
  13. Creating your own hardware is going to be a big challenge, I'd reckon. Is this going to be like a Raspberry Pi or Android box sort of thing? Getting everything you need together, from the motherboard and outercase, to the pin connector and controllers, as well as designing and manufacturing bespoke cartridges? No way on Earth a system like that comes in between 50 and 80 bucks, that's a pipe dream.
  14. So, in conclusion, the Xbox 360 loser in this instance is @skinnygrinny himself! Amazing plot twist, lol!
  15. Um, what am I missing here? That is a pretty good deal for 50 bucks, as long as the system works fine...
  16. I have a couple full sets, but I draw the line at paying 1000 USD for any single game. I've never paid even half that for a game in my collection at this point, and I can't see myself ever leaping that hurdle... So, while I would like to complete a couple more sets, in addition to the ones I have unless I get extremely lucky I doubt I'll ever complete anymore. But that's fine, I guess, my backlog is bloated as it is!
  17. My kids are CRAZY about Ultimate Chicken Horse at the moment. I played a few rounds with them myself, and yeah it's pretty fun, so I'd definitely recommend giving that a go!
  18. I don't own the system myself, but I respect what they're going for with it. It seems like a very good entry point to retro gaming for a younger and/or more casual audience, as well as a nice little addition to the collection for more dedicated retro gamers/collectors. I also appreciate the fact they just get on with things, they make their systems and put out the games and stuff, and it's just what it is, you know. They aren't trying to hype anything or try to big the system up as the second coming or nothing. It just is what it is and does what it does, and I respect that.
  19. I was thinking about these 360 test discs I found a while back:
