  1. Eh, I just did a search for ANY news whatsoever on progress on Glover 2, and came up with absolutely nothing. So, I figured I would just order the Glover rerelease now, just to make sure I don't miss it, and then wait and see on Glover 2. I'm not massively excited about it, but I know I would be unhappy if I waited too long and couldn't get it, so there we go.
  2. Alright, I just put the order in, the checkout process was very convenient as I could use my PayPal balance to pay! If you hear of any more N64 games coming down the grapevine, please continue to update this thread! I am also thinking about putting an order in for that Glover rerelease, but it doesn't really seem worthwhile ATM. I already have the regular OG Glover and played through it quite recently, so it's not a huge priority to me. I did hear rumours that they are polishing up the unreleased sequel to give that a proper release, so obviously I would pounce on that the moment they announced it. But, I haven't heard any updates on that for a long time, so maybe it isn't happening anymore?
  3. Oh wow, that's cool! It says pre-sale, so does that mean it hasn't released yet? I'll definitely be putting my order in for this one!
  4. This isn't really my experience. I might go a few rounds of practicing and just trying a few things out without necessarily trying my hardest. Then I'll get into a bit of a rhythm where I'm getting used to the game and developing my skills and strats. Then there may indeed be a regression, as I'm devoting less attention to the game and relying more on muscle memory and honing that, so there may be a dip in performance there. But, after that all you push through till you really starting getting good and that's when I have some of my best scores coming through. Of course, the next time I turn the game on, my minimum performance level starts off higher than before, and then it's possible to push things even further with more practice. Not that I'm especially good at High Score style arcade games, to be fair, but I certainly find them fun!
  5. Having already collected all the legit officially licensed N64 games, I often find myself pining for further collecting opportunities on the N64. Unlike the NES there currently isn't a HUGE aftermarket/homebrew scene on the N64, but there is certainly more and more activity on this front as time goes by. I have already managed to collect a small number of aftermarket N64 games, and I'm really hoping there are some more out there, so if you know of any please contribute to the list below! Here are the ones I already have: Limited Run Shadows of the Empire Limited Run Pod Racer Piko Interactive 40 Winks Remute R64 music album Xeno Crisis Another that I am aware of but haven't purchased yet is the Piko/Limited Run Glover (apparently there are plans for Piko to finish and released Glover 2 at some point, so if they do I'll probably pick up that and this one together): Big2small contributed by @Scrobins Oh, here's another Limited Run game I missed, Worms Armageddon: So, these are the ones I am aware of. I'm not including any games that are ROM-hacks, unreleased prototypes, Alibaba bootlegs or any other games that infringe on the original copyright and trademark holders. They have to be either fully original productions, such as Xeno Crisis and Remute R64, or fully licensed reproductions, such as the Limited Run and Piko interactive games. If anyone is aware of any other games that fit these criteria, or are aware of any coming out in the future, please help out by contributing below! Thanks!
  6. Another good tip for saving wear on your disc drive is to install the games you want to play on your hard drive. After my 360 started running into issues reading discs, I install all the games I play now, and not had a problem since!
  7. I never really consider the resale value of my collection, other than as a kinda "security net" argument that whatever money has been put into it I could theoretically get back if I NEEDED to. It's hard to argue that money has been "wasted" on something if the value remains intact, and in most cases increased. Any games I own that have gone up significantly in value, I bought because I wanted them in the first place, and so selling is just not appealing to me. There's no guilt in it though, because my game spending is entirely discretionary and amounts to only a small percentage of my income. Even if I were to sell my more valuable items, I don't think I own any that are valuable enough to noticeably impact my bank balance, and even if I sold my ENTIRE collection, I would only want to buy most of it back again, because I really care about the games and items I own. Other than that, if anything I wish there were MORE games around for me to spend my money on, rather than thinking about selling any. I have a few collecting focuses, but I would say the majority of what I want I have by now. There are still things I want, but they aren't really available to me locally, and I don't see the value in buying a lot of the higher ticket items I might want, because I am far more concerned about COST rather than VALUE when it comes to collecting. All of the lowest and closest hanging fruit to me have been picked at this point, so other than little surprise purchases here and there, or just buying cheap crap on a whim, I don't really have much more left to do. These days I would far rather have more TIME and energy available to play the games I have, and having a huge library to choose from feels amazing, that's a feeling I wouldn't give up for the world!
  8. I picked up a Pink Analogue Pocket on the previous round of restocks (with a great deal of help from our great pal @spacepup)! I've played through the GBC version of Donkey Kong Country, Super Mario Advance, and I am currently working my way through the original Japanese version of Pokemon Green. In all cases, I can say I am immensely impressed with the sound and picture quality, the screen on these things is absolutely stunning, a real pleasure to play. I also picked up the obligatory clear-case, which is really nice and feels very secure, and the Game Gear adaptor, which I haven't tried out yet as I don't own any Game Gear games, but it's only a matter of time! So yeah, top marks once again for Analogue. Here's hoping they get the N64 version right, credit card on standby for that one!
  9. Just replayed Star Wars Pod Racer on N64, and now I'm playing through Shadows of the Empire again! Not regretting my choices right now, that's for sure!
  10. A Link Between Worlds is incredible. It's like Link to the Past if it was good.
  11. Lul, why the F does the Super Mario RPG remake boxart look like an Amazon preorder mock-up??? Is that seriously what they went with? WTF?!
  12. Pretty sure most guys involved in this around here were filling bank accounts, and not bags. Perhaps try Go Collect and various comic book and baseball card forums to find the heaviest bag holders!
  13. Oh noes! My gains remain unrealized! UNREALIZED I tell you!!!
  14. Alright, Hitler, whatever you say.
  15. Better question, does that mean that Yoshi's Island is in fact Super Mario Bros. 5?
  16. Boom. Awesome game, definitely the best if the NSMB titles. A bit easy and short, IMO, but full of, indeed, wonder! So yeah, gud game.
  17. Powermon? Powermon. POWERMON! Looks like Pikachu's hillbilly cousin could do with a new electric ear hair-trimmer for Xmas... All our favourites are here! This game legit looks actually fun, lol! Too bad it's sealed, and designed for an obsolete Windows OS that I will never own or use. Gotta infringe 'em all, right fellas?!
  18. Shadows of the Empire on N64 is a good one! There's like at least 3 different genres going on in there.
