  1. Yeah, you can play REMAKES of old games, as long as they haven't changed too much. Graphical overhauls are okay, full reimaginings are not, according to the wizard's whim. Rule of thumb would be you could play the Switch version of Metroid Prime if you had already played the GCN version. BUT, you couldn't play Metroid Zero Mission if you had only played the original Metroid, because it's too different, and the wizard doesn't like that... He doesn't like it. It makes him mad. And when he gets mad, things get all froggy up in here, AND down there.
  2. Does anyone know if the Analogue NT mini is fully compatible with PAL titles? And does anyone know which PAL games are NOT compatible with the AVS?
  3. Oof, tough luck buddy. No takesie-backsies, I'm afraid the wizard is a real stickler on that! Nah my bedtime tastes are for me directly just elaborating that making a choice to participate in your fetish fantasy thread doesn’t mean a total irl rejection of the path not chosen for your sadist wizard, and I don’t appreciate words being put in my mouth so to speak (or be spoken by others.) Let’s extrapolate this challenge to its extreme. If I could only play one game for the rest of my life, would I choose a known favorite, or whatever is a hypothetical next and previously-unheard-of-by-me-today game that I pick up? The answer would be the latter by what I intend my next new game to be, but if I don’t have said very specific choice, yeah I’m gonna choose the former. I dunno what the hell you just said, sounds like ribbits to me!
  4. I think someone's talking himself up into taking the frog-dong! Oh he is thirsting for the FROG, THIRSTING I tells ya!
  5. Hmm... I never noticed before it says it's compatible with MANY PAL games, but not all of them? As primarily a PAL gamer for NES, would this system suit my needs?
  6. The last 3 years or so, I've put in something like 10 orders to Japan with a couple different consolidation services. You can't call it cheap, as the fees, postage and import taxes add up, even if the per-item price ends up cheaper than eBay would be. However, there are just things you simply can't get reliably and affordably outside of Japan, and if there are a good number of items you truly desire, I would say it's well worth the effort. I would say a decent number of items to make the service worth the cost and hassle is between 10 and 20 items. Fewer than 10 and you are probably not making back the taxes and shipping in savings. Over 20, depending on the size and weight of the items, you start running the risk of excessive postage fees. I haven't put an order in this year actually, seeing as I actually went to Japan this year. But I am definitely starting to feel the itch, might start scoping out some of the Mega Drive listings again soon...
  7. I usually buy a couple every time I put a Japan order in. I usually get a good several hundred bucks worth of stuff at a time and consolidate shipping, so a couple of boxed like-new controllers for 20 or 30 bucks each is basically a drop in the ocean for big orders like that.
  8. There's a simple trick to getting good N64 controllers with good sticks. Buy 'em from Japan. They are WAY cheaper than anywhere else and near new controllers are listed on Yahoo bid all the time. I have a stockpile of like 10+ N64 controllers with new or near new sticks, it's lush.
  9. Oh, I just thought about a feature I'd REALLY like to see! Onboard storage for game saves, so you don't need to use memory cards anymore! That would be SUPER useful!
  10. It supports original controllers.
  11. How is running the cutting edge of retro-gaming technology a waste of money? You clearly don't seem to understand the benefits of the Analogue systems, they are fantastic. Has the price been revealed yet? The Mega SG and Super NT I own were 189.99 each plus shipping. I'd happily pay that again for this, or more if necessary.
  12. Having a brand new, factory fresh FPGA design that can play US, Japanese and PAL games all in system is enough to sell it to me alone. And, this is coming from someone who already owns TWO UltraHDMI modded systems.
  13. Dude the market for N64 is HUGE. It's one of the most popular retro consoles, they are going to sell a shit-ton of these.
  14. Who's been questioning Analogue quality? They are best in class for aftermarket console hardware IMO. I'm pretty sure that is a popular opinion all round.
  15. If they get this right, I am 100% doxing @Jeevan again. Let's go.
  16. They max out at a certain point, you may already have reached the max number of trials per character. It's the first few you only have a couple of trials, and then they get more until at a certain point they all have the same number, like 15 maybe? I can't really remember it's been a long time!
  17. Each character has a different number of trials, and different trials to beat, and various options and win conditions etc. change. So, none of the character careers are identical, but yeah, it's a lot of repetitive content. I finished the whole thing because I found it fun, and I enjoyed the challenge and figuring out various battle strategies, etc. I wouldn't have felt I'd gotten the most out of the game if I HADN'T completed all the trials. I don't wanna influence any decision on how a game should or shouldn't be completed in the thread here tho, especially as I am largely just a spectator this year. But, I'm just relating my own experience of the game.
  18. I guess it depends how much you think with your dick... It's possible that for many men the consciousness would carry on through the frog!
  19. I've beat Turok Rage Wars before, a couple years back. I'd say it's possibly the best Turok game of all, although as it's death match only it's a little too limited to definitively state that. It does take a while to unlock all the characters and play through all their various trials, but all the trials are SLIGHTLY different so you haven't really seen everything in the game till you've done them all. That's the way I felt playing it anyway, but then again a lot of the content in each character's trials ARE repeated content, so I don't know if you wanna do them all.
