  1. People overlook the PCEngine/TG16 chip tunes and it's a shame. 17:15 for one of my favorite tracks.
  2. Could heat even round a chip like that? Weird, It's like they put it in one of those rock tumblers.
  3. Mega Man Zero's main guy looks like he's wearing a diaper.
  4. I've been using a MiSTer for my HDMI gaming, but the DE10 Nano board is also getting hard to find. I would say the marked it primed for HDMI solution if someone out there is willing to put a decent product out. I would be nice if someone came up with an HDMI mod using the raspberry pi, like they did on the Amiga.
  5. It's good, but I don't think it's better than SMB2 or SMB3.
  6. I think using the Time Stopper in Quick Man's stage and item 2 in Heat Man's to get over the massive pit are good examples of this. I don't think this is the case in every stage, however. The game has good balance, but it could have been even better. I think the devs were pressed for time on it from what I've read.
  7. Talking about the platforming designs, I think it's interesting how the NES's limitations influenced those design choices. MegaMan's sprites already took up a big chunk of the available sprites per scan line, so placing enemies on different levels was a good way to mediate flickering. It was almost good design by necessity, but I also feel like they put a lot of thought into it as well.
  8. Comparing Capcom with Konami is like comparing brownies with chocolate chip cookies. Just give me both. OT: The first MegaMan is pretty rough around the edges, but still fun. That said, it's probably the last game I would go to when needing a MegaMan fix.
  9. I recently beat Donkey Kong on gameboy/super gameboy again. I love this game. It reminded me just how much fun video games can be.
  10. I got digital copies of the first two games with my PS4. I tried playing the first one, but the awful, awful Wheadonese dialogue drove me away. I never bothered with them afterwards.
  11. I have a 2x pro. They're good converters, but don't buy into the filter hype. The image quality you're going to get out of it is pretty much going to match what you put into it. In my opinion there are cheaper converters out there that will do just as good a job.
  12. Here's a couple I picked up recently. I just haven't had the chance to post them.
  13. For markers, I usually just let the spot soak in a few drops of alcohol. This gives the pigments from the marker time to dissolve. I then gently scrub at it with a q-tip. I'll repeat the process until all the marker stain is gone. I've had good luck with really stubborn marker stains using this method. Patience is key.
  14. 2 and 5 are my favorites. I wasn't as impressed with 4 as others seem to be, although it did have it's moments. 6 is also great while 3 didn't really impress me that much.
  15. Just saw this! https://www.indieretronews.com/2022/07/alwas-awakening-highly-anticipated-nes.html#more
  16. Nice work. I've fixed a lot of stuff myself also. One of my favorites was a TG16 that wouldn't work and after opening it up I found that someone had replaced all the electrolytic caps with ceramic disks. Obviously it was attempted by someone who just didn't understand what they were doing. A good youtube channel to check out for this kind of stuff is RetroRepairs. I've learned a lot of cools stuff watching his channel. https://www.youtube.com/c/RetroRepairs
  17. I wish there were more games out there that weren't great, only when you compared them to SMB3.
  18. It's a great game. I recommend it, especially if you liked Tropical Freeze. 8/10
  19. Of course, part 2 was just the first one I was exposed to.
