  1. Contra: Legacy of War has hidden mini games. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/ps/196978-contra-legacy-of-war/cheats It's weird, but I want to say I remember a hidden arcade in the first level. Probably a false memory. I could have sworn you got into it by blasting at a certain wall for little while.
  2. 10/10 I played this game so much it's boring to me now. I beat the whole thing again a few weeks ago. The really incredible thing is just how much this game is still hacked and played today over 30 years later. I guess you could say the same thing about all the old 8bit and 16bit Mario games.
  3. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure for the PS1. It's loaded with insane mini games.
  4. The only one I'm losing out on is the first one. Not a Gunstar fan.
  5. It's awesome. Go play it. Also a lot of people call it "gleylancer" for some reason, which is dumb because "gley" isn't a word in any language. (Actually it is, but I don't care.) It probably got spelled that way because the Japanese pronounce "L"s and "R"s the same apparently. As for the poll, I'm pretty much in line with the popular vote. The only place I varied was with Shinobi III, but I'll concede that one because Shinobi III is awesome and it was a tough choice for me as well.
  6. I feel like it's comparing apples to oranges in a lot of cases. A lot of them are too different to make comparisons. I don't think Operation C is better than Contra or Super C, but it's definitely great. I have similar feelings about other series offshoots made for the Gameboy. The Gameboy library is like a smorgasbord of tasty finger foods.
  7. Go play Mega Man X for DOS. I refuse to let the others exist in my mind.
  8. I think the original GB game is awesome, but I wasn't really impressed with the GBC game. Maybe I'll give it another go.
  9. 2 will always be the best. Now go play the RockMan CX/ MegaMan CX romhack.
  10. Same. I got mine at Toys R' Us BITD. Just another classic NES game that needed a SNES sequel.
  11. I would get the Mega Everdrive Pro for the Sega CD support. https://krikzz.com/our-products/cartridges/mega-everdrive-pro.html
  12. I think this is a nice debate about grading games objectively or subjectively. Just to be clear about my own point of view, I do think Pitfall is a fun game. There are plenty of games the world loves, however, that I don't. I'm not a big fan of Pac-Man for instance. I probably wouldn't give any traditional Pac-Man game a score above 6.
  13. I'm not comparing it to anything that came later. It's a 9/10 of Atari 2600 games. The mechanics are good, the graphics are excellent, and I think it was ahead of its time in terms of gameplay and goals. Its one of the few 2600 games you can actually beat.
  14. I gave it a 9/10. I'm grading it in the context of the 2600 and what is on that system, and I think it's one of the best games on it. Only a few, like H.E.R.O., might be better.
  15. Just saw the new video. The game looks great.
  16. I played it till the framerate started tanking then quit.
  17. Awesome game. It didn't disappoint when it came out. The wall jump mechanic was novel and well used throughout. 8/10 Some of the enemies were stupid. Why am I fighting model trains?
  18. The game looks awesome, and I'm down with it. I think the name is confusing though. The game is enough of an obvious homage without the cumbersome title.

    Stupidman (NES)

Played the latest build and beat it. Everything seems to be working as expected.
  20. @a3quit4sI know this is a little old, but I've had good experiences contacting support@retrousb.com The shell on my Powerpak started cracking and falling off, and they replaced it for free. They may be willing to help you with your game also.
  21. I forgot about Wii U. It is a great option for Wii HDMI.
  22. If you want the best, both the PS2 and Wii have internal mods that can be installed that will give them native HDMI output. If you just want a converter box, you can't beat a retrotink. Both the Wii and PS2 can output component video.
