  1. Same front I'm experiencing, I assume. 80 does sound nice, so long as it's not to muggy.
  2. I'm not being rude, but at this point I'm highly thinking about exporting and deleting all of my collections. Why should they know what I own, and send target emails my way, or even reach out to me to curate sales based off of my high-dollar items in my collection? There's nothing saying they will do that, but there's also nothing saying they won't.
  3. I'll try to play it as cool as possible, but what GoCollect has just done to NintendoAge is... tragic. I actually remained over there, even after the switch. I've camped/read through VGS much more often than over there, but I saw no need to not be a part of two communities. Well, after now seeing their "big changes" it's obvious that its... well, 100% self-serving. I can't see how this will work well in their favor. I mean, it's leaving a bad taste in my mouth and I have no interest in using their services. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but the fact is they've ripped the domain, and NA is buried under multiple links and the formatting is so horrible that you'd rather not even go there. If I didn't know any better, I'd wonder if the archive is setup that way so they can mine the data in the back-end and others would have to come to them for research. Yes, that's a bit cynical, but as a general optimist, today's transition of NA to the New GoCollect site is far worse than I assumed or expected. I'm not mad, really. It's just sad and a bit heartbreaking. For those that were around longer than me, I'm sure the feelings are even worse.
  4. To many posts to read through to see if this has been said, but if they've done this to NA (I honestly didn't think it'd be THIS bad, but they sure blew away my expectations) then what's next for Game Value Now? I could see it being modified/rebranded/reformed to push numbers that support GoCollect/Heritage Auctions. I could also see them nixxing the collection manager so... I'll be exporting my data and looking for a new tool. It's a shame. It was nice seeing values tide to items. I'll admit, I've done a bit of "investing" so I could leverage value increase with time, for better stuff in the future. If they kill the collection tracker, that will really, really suck, but I guess I should play it safe and assume that's going to happen anyway. Man... R.I.P. NintendoAge. They really did kill you.
  5. Welcome aboard! You don't have to collect to enjoy this place. If you love video games in any form or fashion, there's a place for you here to connect!
  6. Remind me, where do you live?! Here in the North Carolina foothills, we've had a warm-spell come through a couple days ago because we're having about 2-3 days of rain. I think the high is going to be in the mid-70s. But, just a straight-shot 50-75 miles away into the mountains, they are expecting snow tonight. Weather is weird around here, yall.
  7. The club. I didn't know I had the power/rights to make a private thread. Maybe within the club manager. People are posting though, so I assume it's public.
  8. Sorry guys, but I couldn't see a "Good Deals" area, so I just put it in the Online Auction Limelight. Please move it and let me know where these should go in the future. Anyway, SquareEnix has just reduced the price of Collection of Mana. I know that when we discussed it before, some people wanted to pick it up when it went down in price. Feel free to wait longer because I could see this being discounted/discontinued down to $20 by SE, and you might be able to get it for as little as $15 on eBay shortly after that but, for now, I still think this is a fair price. I've really enjoyed this collection. Big props to M3 to making the GB emulator which I wish Nintendo would pick up and possibly use. There OG Game Boy filters perfect. 9. Wait, is this the Zao from the late-90s, early-00s? I freaking use to love Zao in college!
  10. I got a box of about 10 games I want to send off. Sucks for me, but I get it. They've had such long lead times, even at their top-tiers, it makes sense that they'd increase price. Supply and demand--they can only spend so much time and effort grading their backlog, and if they have thousands of submissions that may take months to grade, they have to track all of that inventory (hopefully) in a climate controlled storage location. By increasing prices, demand should go down a little (which means the market will also not be flooded with sub-par games, which is good) and WATA might get additional revenue and can higher and train more graders. In the long run I think it's a win for everyone, but it just sucks because until I sell a few more high-dollar items, looks like I won't be getting anything graded for a while.
  11. Well, I posted this to reddit and cross-posted it a bit. Feel free to upvote and possibly comment. I think there's a large lack of functionality in reddit.
  12. Currently at 18 Yes, 0 No... guys, we need fresh blood.
  13. Honestly, I think it’s a mix of people being pro-active looky-lues and those who just got to do something to feel “brave” or macho. Of course, there are also the workaholic managers and single moms working at Pizza Hut who are threatened with a loss of their job if they don’t come in. Yeah, that happens, because we all know that when you’re snowed in, that’s the perfect time to order a delivered pizza.
  14. There might be a fellowship but some *one* still has to carry the ring. So, in this context, who's paying the bills? I had assumed it was Gloves. Regardless, I'm glad to hear you're keeping this as community driven as possible.
  15. Congrats to him! A while ago (10 years or so) I heard that he was very well known by us in the US and a bit of a rock start, however, in Japan, they supposedly didn't idolize workers for companies and, supposedly, he could walk down the street and go completely unnoticed. I have no clue if that was ever true but if so, I wonder if it's changed in the past 10 years or if this might affect people recognizing him (literally) in his home country.
  16. I started with the GB because that was mostly the sole system I played during my gaming "dry spell" which was the SNES era. But, after collecting for 4 years, I tend to have the most fun hunting and collecting PS1 titles. I have no clue why. I guess it's because there's a TON of them and they are easily hidden amongst audio and software CDs at thrift shops. Most that I find at those places are $1, and if the case and game are in great shape, I'll pick up anything at that price, even if it's a sports title, so long as I don't have it already. Game Boy collecting is fun, but so far it's mostly been an eBay hunt type of thing--digging through poorly documented lots, looking for images of games in the middle of many. Now that I have under 25 to get, it's full price for these or waiting fooooorrreeevvveeeerr for one to show up at a cheap price, and praying I hit the BIN before someone else. Game Gear is also awesome. I think I'm about to pick up the two heavy hitters and I already have about 30 games, so after my GB set is done, I probably hit that one the heaviest. If I wasn't playing my Game Boy as a kid, I was playing my Game Gear. I didn't get my own TV in my own bedroom until I was about 13 of 14, and I wasn't able to use it for gaming until the N64 so, that system is on my radar too. Fortunately, that's suppose to be an easyone to complete, even with Sculptor's Cut.
  17. Xenogears, that's actually a Xenogears sequel and not a spiritual successor. Mech-heavy would be awesome too. There are a ton of racing games out there, but bring back the Cruis'n series. One of may favorite. I'm pretty sure we're going to get a new Octopath Traveler with time, but I'm going to throw it out there. Axiom Verge. I sound like a broken record sharing this one, but it's definitely my favorite indie game. Tom Happ has mentioned he'd like to make more, but his social media threads have been dormant a while, and that makes me sad. Turok could be cool. Maybe with the LRG re-releases coming out, it will get peoples attention. I could probably list 100 more if I thought about it. There's a lot of dead IP universes that need a reboot or new game and it's criminal that they've not seen one in 10 years. Oh, for me, I'd love to see a killer remake of Altered Beast. It's not everyone ones cup-o-tea, and many people consider it to be just a "meh" game. Regardless, I can't picture any arcade from the late-80s/early-90s without an Altered Beast cab. It's like it was your standard purchase when setting up a game section in any arcade/pizza joint/skate rink. If you had 3-5 games, or more, you had Altered Beast. I'd like to see it renewed.
  18. Regards to Dane making the NA community but this place is so much better. That's so easy.
  19. Another interesting metric is that we have 45 members online right now. It's the middle of the day and many of us are working and 45 people are posting/lurking.
  20. Actually, I made a minor change, this one below will only show new/unread content, and not just content topics like NA. I actually like this better: https://www.videogamesage.com/discover/33/
  21. Aha, that's it! I see how it works now. Thanks for that. I've added to my views. I'm not sure how to view them, but I can figure that out. Can I make it the default "Activity" view?
  22. I'm 141?! That's really crazy to me. I couldn't make it in on the first day, but I was hear around the second day it was made public, I think.
  23. Friendly reminder that I tried to kick-off r/gamecoasters on Reddit. The reddit crowd would cringe so hard at this if it caught on. (It didn't.) Because, they are... different. I love them, but they are different.
