  1. I got a few from a UK website for $17 each but I'd have to try and find it, it was an unknown site. My biggest problem with them was that they charged me the 3% PayPal fee which is against PayPal's terms of service so I never used them again. Recently I've been adding them onto each of my Limited Run Games orders, they're about $20 each and shipping combines with the rest of my order. Both were the same quality as one I purchased from VGA so no problems with neither.
  2. It was too hard for me to read the list so I only got part way through. I always find it easier to scan cartridge labels, that might help get more interest. If you posted multiple photos where I can quickly scan them, that would help and it would also help me spot variants which I can't see from the list.
  3. I've never heard of most of these, where did they come from? I only know of Timewalk, Retro USB, Rose Colored Gaming and Flashback Games.
  4. When I saw this posted I immediately wanted to ask you where you got these boxes because NES-City was no longer producing them. I figured you'd be overloaded with everyone on this forum asking where you got these so I patiently waited for someone else to ask and see what the answer is. I'm amazed nobody else asked this question but where in the world did you find these boxes?
  5. There is a boxed one of these units at my local game store for (I think) $400 CAD in case anyone here is looking for one. It's complete and in nice shape, looks unused.
  6. At one of my previous jobs I was speaking with a client and they mentioned Q Sound, I immediately stopped what I was doing and asked them about it. He gave me Dan Lowe's phone number and as soon as I got off work, I gave him a call. I spoke with Dan for about 30 minutes and he's a super nice guy, loved to chat about the Q Sound. He said the difference between NES / NEC and Atari was that NES had a chip in the cartridge for audio and the Atari contained audio driver with instructions coming from the game and processing done in game. Someone named Stolley hired Dan and he worked for Nolan Bushnell attempting to revive Atari but nothing really happened with it. Warner apparently failed to follow through with development. They also produced a number of games for Nintendo and Sega, they were slow to get going and were mostly inhibited by the consumer .Their purpose was for spatial audio in gaming and they presented it around the world but couldn't get much traction though they did have a deal with Capcom to do their chipsets in their arcade cabinets. Yamaha developed the stereo playback for Sega, Capcom and Konami in the arcade back then. Bell / Aliant and AT&T were silica partners. Dan left the company in 1993 and it closed down about 9 years ago. He often thinks about what it could have been. Before we left the call I got his email address and asked him if I could contact him periodically in the future if I ever had more questions for him and he was happy to oblige. I haven't contacted him since (this was around 2019) but I would if there were more questions presented. Side note, if anyone knows where this unit is right now, I would like to buy it.
  7. Good points, this is exactly the feedback I'm looking for. I will have some way of tracking extras that came with the game but it won't be print run specific. For example, Mega Man 2 will not show the sticker because only specific print runs came with it so I wouldn't want to confuse collectors that show the sticker as missing when their print run never came with it. If it's something like Mike Tyson's letter that came with all print runs, that will be selectable. It won't be part of the 3 clickable buttons but will be selectable somehow, I'm just not sure yet. I may go as far as listing all optional extras down below in a section where they're noted as not specific to any print run but you can check them if you have them and choose to include them. I'm just not sure about that yet but I am a variant collector so it will be included. Separating complete from CIB is tricky because you could include the dust sleeve and styrofoam block, then it starts getting too busy. And I also have to include an option for Sealed so that makes it even more busy but that may be a FAB, I'm not sure. I'm going to stick with B = box for now since it'll be a while before I expand into disc consoles but when I get there I have a few options. I can have a separate database table for the items certain games have, since games like Gamma Attack for Atari 2600 doesn't have a box. So that game would be just C (I'm not sure if it has a manual). I never noticed the I changes to Manual but I thought Instructions was too long for a portrait layout and I always say manual when I'm speaking, I never say instructions. How does everyone feel about a CMB standard for NES? That might enrage some people.
  8. I've been working on this every day but mostly took a break from the mobile side to work on the machine learning side for image classification. I built a model using Tensorflow that will automatically detect and recognize any cartridge, manual or box for a game. I just need to incorporate that into the mobile side so you can add games to your collection just by pointing the camera at them. Anyway, here are some updated screenshots of the application itself. Why purple? I don't know, I'm not a designer, I'll eventually get someone to work on the design for me but everything done so far was done by just me. The consoles I have so far, the rest will get entered on a regular basis: List of games with indicators of which pieces you own: Game screen, all of these links now work. The pricing information isn't fully populated yet because I wanted to get my image recognition model complete first so it can automatically classify contents of online sales instead of me categorizing them manually: No more need to load up eBay and look at recent sales, they're all right here in the application. You can see all recent sales of any game:
  9. This is the first I've heard of this. Are you actually writing this in Assembly yourself?
  10. Don't use Bestine. Use lighter fluid. I've been cleaning my games with lighter fluid for probably a decade, I just pour some on a Q-Tip, rub it on the outside of the sticker, it soaks through the sticker, dissolves the glue and the sticker peels right off. Give it another wipe with a paper towel and you're done.
  11. Wild Boys: Dragon Ninja: This is where the hamster in the microwave myth originated. You can't actually do this.
  12. I have loads of these NES advertisement files. Here's an unused The Hunt For Red October box art with the description referencing the novel instead of the movie. This one mentions The California Raisins and Rescue Rangers coming from Capcom: Putt Master, whatever that is: Ninja Taro, Predator and Pinball. Is this even NES? Road Runner from Mindscape: Barcelona '92. You'd think this is a PAL advertisement since that was its name in Japan but the code is CAP-NES-US-5 which means this is a USA advertisement.
  13. I guess it depends how much you like a sedentary lifestyle. I can't sit still long enough to ignore things, once a show finishes, I have to get up and start the dishwasher, take out the recycling, look out a few windows, put my controller away. Watch another show, look for more things to do. If you really enjoy sitting around and doing nothing, I can see how that can be hard. Do you suffer from anxiety? If you start thinking about everything that needs to be done, it can make you quite anxious and just avoid starting anything. It's hard knowing all of the things you have to do and knowing that tomorrow you'll just have to do them again.
  14. Oh, the upper R, not the lower one. That's why I initially asked the question, in case I was missing something. $200 should get you one of those.
  15. They don't exist. Oval seal R cartridges came out too late to be 5 screw.
  16. I don't know anything about Pokemon but Ken Goldin and some other guy broke open a $360,000 box. After they finished with this one, the guy went to his house and got his personal box which they also broke (not in this video).
  17. He could have a million dollars, it's not happening.
  18. How are you going to get a 5 screw R?
