  1. I'm also doing Atari 2600 which eats a lot of my funds so that slows me down a little bit. If I sold my Atari collection, I'd probably be done NES. And then there are the prototypes I can't stop buying. As for variants, I buy them as I see them as well, though not so agressively on the black box because there are about 13 of each of the 30 games. I'd be broke if I bought every black box variant I come across. I do have about 9 copies each of The Legend Of Zelda and Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! though, only missing a few of those. I do but I only have about 500 NES boxes, somewhere in the low 400s for unique boxes and non-homebrew. That means my list of boxes would be almost 300 which is too much to post. And some of these cartridges and manuals I need are for boxes I already have, like Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers 2, Swamp Thing and Bonk's Adventure. I already have the boxes for those.
  2. I thought it would be fun to put together a list of what I still need for NES now that it's short enough to be manageable. I'm not necessarily looking to buy these at the moment but I will remove them as I get them. Is anyone surprised by some of the ones I still need this far down the line? 3. Thanks! I will add an about page but I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to settle on the name Kodani Code before I get a logo. I don't know if it sounds good enough, my name is Dan so it kind of fits but I'm not sure if people make the reference. What do you mean by transition from wide to narrow? Did I miss the video size changing somewhere? These are games. These are variants of games. Any questions? Subscribe now. You have no idea how hard it is to avoid fact based statements like this but I manage teams for work so I've had no choice but to be more personable, even if I'm faking it. One thing I'd like to do is laugh more like Mat does in his videos but he just has a much goofier personality. I just like how I find myself laughing when I hear him laugh and I don't feel like we get enough laughter in our lives. It's really good for the soul.
  4. Video is now public. Thanks for all the constructive criticism.
  5. I've been selected 2 years in a row so let's see if I can do it again. How about the bat from one of my favourite Atari 2600 games, Demon Attack? Here are 2 screens, the long bullet is what the player shoots up, the multiple small ones are droppings coming from the bat. When you destroy a large bat, it turns into 2 small bats.
  6. You're selling these for $100? Are they tapes or games?
  7. The game was released in 2017 and the physical version was released on Switch in 2022. It wasn't just more than a year. Too little ........... too late. I can't discuss it with my friends, I can't see everyone playing it on Twitch, people aren't discussing it on forums. I'm just not interested anymore.
  8. If I offered you a game for $5 that would be worth $1,000,000 in 5 years in unreleased form, would you release it? Question 2, how are you going to fund raise for $1,000,000? The $5 isn't the problem, it's the perceived future value loss.
  9. I'm not paying double price for a game from a company that can't get organized enough to release both at the same time. Ideally they should give a discount on the physical version to anyone that bought the digital version, or provide the digital version for free to anyone placing an order for the physical. When I buy a DVD, the digital copy of the movie is often included for free. When I bought tickets to see Jay-Z live, I got a free copy of his latest album emailed to me. Charging the same price for digital and physical releases is bullshit.
  10. It's too little, too late for Cuphead. I was excited for it 4 years ago.
  11. 69 boxed NES games I still needed for my collection. I actually managed to find someone selling 10% of the entire NES set.
  12. Let's give this another go. I edited the video, took out most of the car and uploaded it again. Please take another look and if there is still criticism, I'll take the car completely out. I appreciate the honesty so far and please keep it coming. I'm trying to make a go at this so I need to know what works and what doesn't. Thanks!
  13. Interesting concept, that's a good idea. I like the criticism, thanks. I find YouTube has to be more focused, I collect Transformers also and my original intention was to show off Transformers and video games, two things from the 1980s. I'm actually afraid now to start showing Transformers, I feel like it has to be more focused so I'm sticking to just games. I've removed most of the car so I'll export this new version and post it here once it's done. Might be tomorrow.
  14. Well their 1977 release of Space Invaders probably outsold every other game they made so you could argue they got worse after that even if their late games were bangers.
  15. Probably sticker sealed Mario Bros. or Soccer. Stadium Events is probably the rarest game but there are rarer variants.
  16. Multiple pallets of games with 3 cases of Stadium Events, each containing 6 games. The first 12 games were sold with accompanying NDA and he is holding the last case of 6. I know he got quite sick a while back and sold a large chunk of his games but the Stadium Events is not the rarest game in his collection.
  17. Not a scam, lots of people buy portions of things as an investment. https://rallyrd.com/ Two of the three cases were sold. One remains sealed.
  18. It was super awkward standing around 1-2 customers and just trying to hype myself up to just take out the camera and start filming. What really did it for me was when I started extending out the stick with my phone on it, the owner walked by and a customer asked, "Are you filming another commercial?" The owner said, "No, he's just getting some YouTube content." And the guy replied, "Oh, that's cool." That really helped me out that I was doing something that was more normal than it sounded in my head. My best advice is to just get out there and do it. I know I'm making mistakes and I tell the people helping me out (the owner) that I don't really know what I'm doing but as long as I'm trying, I'm better than when I started. The more mistakes I make, the more I learn. I appreciate the feedback, thank you. I'm also curious how everyone else feels about music. I also got that from Mat Armstrong's videos, though he uses it during montages.
  19. I never understand this question, you should collect whatever you think would be fun. Do you want NES games? Then buy NES games. I don't get it. If you're asking someone else instead of just doing what you want, I can only assume you're asking what to buy as an investment in which case the answer is nothing. Video games are a terrible investment compared to bonds, metals and technology companies. It just seems like a strange question to me, it's like me asking you what I should have for supper tonight. It all comes back to whatever I like to eat.
  20. I think this was already established in later posts but it's a type of estrogen which the body can treat similarly to estrogen. I'd be curious to know if it doesn't have the effects I thought it did. Or at least the effects it was reported to have 10 years ago. Here's an article from Harvard, though this really just proves what has already been established, that' it's plant estrogen. https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/soy/#:~:text=Soy is unique in that, estrogenic or anti-estrogenic activity. I was under the impression an increased level of estrogen can cause an increase in testosterone in women, causing their breast sizes to decrease, similar to female bodybuilders taking steroids. I just looked for papers to verify that and I'm having trouble, maybe that's not true. That's interesting. It was impossible to read grey text on a grey background, I had to highlight your post in order to read it. Once I did that, it seems like the posts are more focused on whether it causes cancer, I was more focused on the hormonal imbalance, unrelated to cancer. Still interesting people did think there was a correlation to cancer though.
