  1. Only if it puts you into a lower tax bracket. Otherwise you're losing thousands of dollars to make back 30% of that loss in tax. If it drops you to a bracket with 6% lower tax, that 6% applies to everything and could be a huge savings.
  2. I have a very convincing personality. Tengen Police Academy and a shitload of other NES games advertised in the backs of manuals. I wouldn't trust someone else having a copy of the dump and it not getting out. What about a rogue employee? What if I bought The Video Game History Foundation and effectively owned all of the dumps? According to Frank they apparently have Police Academy but it hasn't been proven. I haven't messaged him. I posted here and in the high end group on Facebook, he knows I want it. If he'll sell, he'll come find me. I would be quite aggressive with this one, it's very cool.
  3. I have 3 Super NES and 2 Analogue Super NT, the medium isn't the problem. It's just the time to set up the old console and get into it, I'd rather just have it on a modern and portable console for convenience.
  4. Chrono Trigger I started it on an emulator around 2005 and then started again on the PSP (also emulator) around 2010. Both times got about halfway through and never finished. Then I bought a complete copy on eBay for $109 (remember those days?) with the intentions of getting to it eventually but then sold it recently for $800 before I even played it. I'm hoping it comes out on Switch so I can actually play it all the way through.
  5. Is this a computer issue? It sounds like something going on with the game. Which game is it?
  6. I don't disagree but I can understand it. I'd rather have the first release of Optimus Prime rather than the actual first Microman release of the same toy in Japan. The Japanese toy means nothing to me.
  7. Two different people, both named Bryce, both known on this forum, both died last week?
  8. Rutledge? My primary collection is Transformers and he was one of the biggest collectors in the country. I spoke with him a few years ago about buying some of his prototypes and Japanese exclusives but we just couldn't come to a deal. Another local member here ended up buying it and this morning that local collector offered Bryce's old pieces to me. I went to Instagram to make sure I was spelling Bryce's name correctly and to my surprise I found out he had died. It affected me quite a bit, I wasn't quite able to think right for the rest of the afternoon, it's a pretty sad blow to the collector world and anyone that knew him. He seemed like a good guy.
  9. Apparently there are other functions to this website other than a forum. People jumped on me last time I asked why. There's a weblog and some other things.
  10. I don't collect sealed games and I have no interest in sealed games. I prefer to collect complete, opened but along the way I have gotten the odd sealed game in a lot or for $5 at a flea market. I don't care if the market turns to dust but if it does happen to go to the moon, the 20-40 sealed games I do have will sky rocket so I don't care either way. Sure, nobody talked about sealed games before 2020 but everything starts somewhere. It wasn't an organic growth but I think video games have a lot of room to grow to align with comics. Everyone wants a Superman comic and everyone wants issue number 1. Not issue number 2, not 3, they want the first one. It's the same with video games, people want the first printing of a game. I bought a family member a book for Christmas a few years ago and instead of paying $20 at the book store, I bought a 80 year old first print for much, much more. I do think a sticker sealed Super Mario Bros. is worth at least 1/3 a Superman issue 1 which sold for over $3,000,000.
  11. I feel like nobody understands the reason why prices blew up which lead to the reason why they crashed. Bitcoin blew up in 2020 with the halving and that caused all cryptocurrency to explode. That made a lot of people rich overnight and they started spending more on collectibles including video games, art, toys and cars. I bought a car in January 2020 and 6 months later similar cars were selling for 50% more than what I paid. You couldn't even get a used car for less than it sold new, it was insane. Once all those people made a bunch of money, they sold off and the market crashed. Those that didn't understand the wave were left holding the bag wondering why it wasn't still going up. It's no surprise the prices crashed because of this and it'll happen all over again next year.
  12. On NES I have every letter. On Atari 2600 I'm missing U and X.
  13. He made a game and named it the same as an existing, licensed game?
  14. Why does your Road Fighter box look different than this? Did you make it?
  15. Some more NES / 2600 paperwork as well as a single 2600 game I still needed somehow.
  16. I would love to have my Demon Attack. Thanks!
  17. I think it's disrespectful to completely disregard Remembrance Day, they deserve their dues. I start Christmas after that.
  18. Saw the video, looked like an accident. It also looked like he would have been gone before he made it to the bench, it squirted out all over everything like a garden hose in 3 seconds. What a tragedy.
  19. It's impossible. If you turn a garden hose on full blast and cut it open, are you going to be able to sew it back together with water pouring out and someone moving it around? With the pressure on this artery / vein, it can't be put back together once it's cut so it's a death sentence. And even if you manage to put enough pressure on it to cut blood flow, you're starving the brain of oxygen so then you have brain damage after 7 minutes.
  20. The Quintesson Judge, same here.
  21. They aren't unique, someone already made new, indistinguishable copies using old period correct chips.
  22. I see Hot Slots way more than the other two, in fact it's the only one of the three I own and it's complete. It's the only one I've ever seen for sale locally but it's possible that was a fluke. I would disagree with Ultimate League Soccer but maybe that's also a fluke for me. I accidentally bought a second complete one because I didn't realise I already owned it, now I have two.
