  1. I use a crt, this isn't relevant to me, hahaha
  2. Well...yes you have to farm for the weapon later, a royal pain, but it allows you to have double the weapon, making it easier for children, imo. I agree though, my brother and I also both hate this boss, it's annoying and the game would be better without it.
  3. https://megaman.fandom.com/wiki/Boobeam_Trap I'm not sure what the official name of this event is, but we all know the boss. Growing up my brother and I would destroy the walls first, then die and destroy the enemy second. Now I try to do it all on one go. What about everyone else?
  4. Also, I'm curious on others' take on playing games on easy mode
  5. What about the "pause" technique in Rad Racer?
  6. Was talking with the "owner" today. The furry guy is snipped, they actually hoping I can take him in. I said if he gets along fine with my other cat, I'd more than willing to snag him after Chinese New Year. The one other requirement is he'd have to get used to the indoor life, I'm not willing to let him out.
  7. I typed the initial post out early this morning, I'll try to elaborate a bit now. A few people mentioned that if it's in the game, it's fair play. What about using passwords to avoid something? Or playing the game on the easy mode? I started a thread earlier about me trying to beat thirty games in thirty days. Although it's my personal thing (so my rules), if I were to use passwords to advance to the final stage, then completed the games, I don't think it would match what many people here would think I was doing (i.e. playing through the games, not skipping most of it). That's why I was curious about the items / weapons thing. Yes, they sometimes can allow you to cheese it, but at what point would it slide into the cheating category? Exploiting glitches?
  8. My brother and I sometimes have an argument while gaming, playing games such as Super Mario Bros 3 or the Mega Man series. I generally will not use the special weapons or items, aside from in few situations (such as maybe a difficult boss or something like that), as otherwise I feel they can make the game too easy. My brother will generally use (not abuse) the weapons or items quite liberally though, and feels that it's part of the fun. Do you guys feel that using the special weapons and items is basically a form of cheating or not?
  9. I've decided to try to complete thirty Famicom games within thirty days. I started this goal Sunday night. Ideally I'd aim for one game a day, but due to life, I might skip a day here and there, and then do multiple games a different day. Progress (26/30) : 01. Panic Restaurant 02. Time Diver Avenger 03. 10. Does anyone here collect for the original XBox? In the past I've toyed with the idea of trying to document and also collect all of the Taiwan region games for this machine. I think it would be interesting and is worth documenting; however, I don't have unlimited money or time, and I'm not particularly interested in the Xbox, having never even properly played one. I do happen to own the rarest game on the machine though, Daemon Vector, which was developed by a local company here. Apparently it is exclusive to Taiwan only. So does anyone here collect XBox? For a bloke like me, is it worth picking up even as a gaming machine?
  11. I'll try to post some Famiclones and a bunch of non-Famicom bootleg / unlicensed / import / obscure stuff next week, so please check back then (I'll let you guys know when I update). Because this sort of stuff is generally not well known about in the west, I'm more than happy to answer questions about anything listed here, take more pictures, etc. I just love chatting about this stuff with anyone, so don't be afraid to ask. Likewise, I'm always open to offers, especially if someone wants to purchase a bunch of items at once, so don't be shy.

Lion King 2 - $45 Original game based on the Lion King. Poker Club 6 in 1 (18+ game) - $80 One of only two unlicensed games that Sachen would develop for the Sega Mega Drive. This title includes six different card games in it. Power Rangers - $25 Power Rangers is an original, unlicensed game for the Sega Mega Drive. It comes with the box and cart, and is new old stock. ASIAN VERSIONS: Evander Holyfield's Real Deal Boxing (Asian version) - $25 This one is new old stock, from a local shop. It's pretty funny, Sega decided to take manuals and artwork from some European PAL games, then pair them with a Japanese cart shell to craete an Asian version release "on the cheap". This is one of those releases. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Asian version) - $40 This is the Asian version release of Sonic the Hedgehog 3. This package has the Chinese-translated manual, the box, and the cartridge. Ambition of Caesar (Taiwan / Hong Kong version) - $80 OBO Ambition of Caesar is one of two games localized for the Taiwanese / Hong Kong market. The game has been translated entirely into Chinese. 14. Hello, and welcome to my shop! I try to list things as accurately as I can, but with so many items sitting around my house, it's easy to miss something along the way. So please ask questions if you have any. Also, as a lot of these items are not common to find, it is hard for me to price them. As such I am willing to consider offers should you be interested in some items, but feel the price is too much. Trades can also be considered. Shipping of 1 - 2 carts is about $5, worldwide. You even end up travelling into hell, all the while girls make suggestive passes at you. You're even collecting Mary Jane in one of the later stages. 15. Recently bought some Japanese N64 games from @OptOut, when I received them I saw that they didn't include the baggies, a detail he forgot to mention. Oh I'm so angry!!! On a more serious note, always a pleasure to deal with this guy, he's honest, fair, and a great guy to hang with.
  16. Just received a bootleg of Ike Ike! Nekketsu Hockey-bu today! Another one scratched off the list.
  17. I remember I was banned for two weeks, it was right as an auction or two I was hosting was ending too. The mods were more than willing to let me finish business before taking a brief vacation.
  18. Imports (especially Famicom) are on the rise, the prices here are finally starting to get stupid!
  19. It's a clone, RadioShack used to sell them up through the 2000s. Some had problems with overheating and the like, at least the one I had did. No idea on value by now. Fun fact, these were made by Bit Corp, I got a poster for this hanging in my game room.
  20. Hik that's not jy company original has little value. People prefer first print I guess
  21. Yup, that's probably real prices. I've lived in Taiwan since 2011, the parcels my mom sent me from then until now decreased in both size and frequency, due to postage. She just sent me a parcel for 103$ . On the other hand, I sent a friend a large box to Holland for $30, so cheap. The guys not trying to fleece you, shipping internationally from the USA now is just insanely high.
  22. A lot of really expensive and hard to find stuff on there. Good luck!
  23. Id give them a 7. Quite liked the first two or three albums back in the day, really hated the stuff from infinity on high going forward.
  24. There's probably less than a dozen titles on that list that I can confirm to actually exist, which I don't personally own. Likewise I reckon that a lot of the titles remaining on this list were never even released as bootleg cartridges. That's part of the fun though, as it's neat discovering titles that you never imagine would have been bootlegged, such as the original Family Basic. Likewise it's fun to see how the rarities definitely do not correspond 1:1. Recca on Famicom is rare, the bootleg is not so rare. On the other hand, Family Pinball is very rare as a bootleg cartridge I'll post some pictures of some of the (imo) rarer carts later, but I think this will be a fun topic to watch, for those interested in bootleg games.
  25. About three years ago I had stopped by two different shops north of where I live, and in each shop, I had managed to snag about forty or fifty different bootleg Famicom cartridges. There were some titles there that I rarely saw on bootleg cartridge format, and since the condition was so nice, I decided to casually start collecting bootleg versions of official Japanese Famicom games. Since that time I've managed to obtain a little over 40% of the full set, the games I am missing in bootleg form can be seen below. Before you take a look at that, I just want to establish some rules I had set for myself. 1. "Whirlwind Manu" bootlegs don't count towards this. The reason is because those carts all have their own unique identification numbers and are part of their own series, hence they count towards my Whirlwind Manu collection of games and not this. 2. No modern day counterfeits / reproductions. The carts must be from the late 80s or early 90s, I also don't include the cheesy Polish carts from the mid or late nineties. Likewise no fan-made items. 3. The software version must be the same. So I have a bootleg of Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA version), for example, but it is in PAL format. This doesn't count as Super Mario USA despite the fact that the bootleg cart's label reads "Super Mario USA", since the software is not the same. Here is the list of what I'm missing: '89 Dennō Kyūsei Uranai $1,000,000 Kid: Maboroshi no Teikohen 10-Yard Fight 1999: Hore, Mitakotoka!
