  1. Just added some unlicensed original Gameboy games. $150 shipped takes all four!
  2. We've all purchased dozens of second hand items, whether from thrift shops or online. Anyone ever find bugs inside? Spiders? Roaches? Let's hear some stories, then I'll share mine.
  3. Surely the guy can post an enticing screenshot from the software, otherwise it's obvious it's nothing too special and he's just baiting for a sucker. I wouldn't be surprised if this belongs to a community member, too.
  4. @Tanooki thanks for the kind words my friend. I've got too much of this stuff lying around in my apartment, I need to start auctioning off some mystery boxes I think.
  5. Yes, I know about this trick / glitch in SMB. Great for showing off to friends.
  6. I've always thought this was interesting, how the game handles it if you and the boss die at the same time. Some games that call it a win: 1. Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers 2. Gun Dec / Vice Project Doom 3. Super Mario Bros. Some that count it as a loss: 1. Battletoads (I think)
  7. Very cool, I was always curious why it would sometimes be there but not always!
  8. @DoctorEncoreno idea, it's still sealed. I think I've heard that it's not particularly good, though @OptOut and I hope to try the game out at some point.
  9. His name is Nemo, like the fish. I stalked him the other day while he was on an adventure. I just happened to see him while taking the garbage out.
  10. I think we've all been there at some point. You purchase or trade something with a prominent seller or collector, but when it arrives there's a problem. For example, I received a parcel today from a guy I've bought from and chatted with dozens of times over the years. One of the carts this round has its PCB swapped, I'm quite sure. Although the game is right, the PCB and case design mismatch, thus making the game valueless to me... What to do, stay silent or speak up? I'll personally stay silent, I doubt the seller is trying to scam me, and even more important, if I speak up, I could potentially find myself on the blacklist, losing this valuable source. On the other hand, it's frustrating at times, feeling that you can't or shouldn't speak up, when there's an issue at hand. What do you guys do? If it's a random on eBay it's one thing, but a valuable source or respected community member, how to handle it?
  11. Oh! I forgot about that, yeah I had remembered hearing it was an exclusive but couldn't remember who told me, as I was quite busy around the time we were talking initially. Sadly, this game truly seems to be rare, as Optout and I've been searching high and low, for ages. Truly doesn't seem to be many around.
  12. Maybe I'll start trying to document these then, and also get an Xbox and start playing!
  13. Yes, Grant on the Famicom version makes the game almost too easy, with his regular attack. I used to have a Game Genie code so I could play as two of the helpers, ditching Trevor.
  14. Yeah , eventually we'd just skip the clocktower as well to avoid the whole thing (plus we both like the beginning sequence of the forest stage, which gets skipped if you do the clocktower). Same as you, my brother and I preferred the other two helpers, him with Sypha and me with Alucard.
  15. What about games where there is no difference, other than difficulty, between easy and normal mode?
  16. @Sumezwhile that might be true, imo taking the hit, losing the life, and farming is more valorous than using an E tank
  17. I've been lifting weights. I want to start cycling again , and also to complement it with walking for 10k a day. I've also been trying to eat more healthful recently, large dosage of veg, etc. Hope to cut back on beer, then I'll really shed the pounds
  18. Let's get a bit more specific. For the no die crowd, do you use E tank or not?
  19. @@Sumez : Fair enough, but most wars consist of more than one battle. So you lost one battle, but you kept fighting and overall achieved and won the war
  20. As a child, my brother and I always played through Castlevania III, one of the greats. As we all know though, there's a flaw. If you go through the clocktower and take Grant, you then are later required to tell one of the special partners goodbye, basically tossing them off as a has been or an ex. How does everyone feel about this? Am I just too soft, or does anyone else feel bad turning down one of the helpers?
  21. @Sumezthe problem is I grew up in that same era, you're preaching to the choir bro. For you it may be 1CCing a game, for me it's completing every panel, getting every item, for the next guy it's not using weapons or whatever. Which all goes back to my main point, which was partially inspired by a dude on a different forum who only counted a victory if he 1CCd something.
  22. Yeah, I think by pausing and unpausing, it slows down the timer
  23. @Sumez the point is simply for us to chat about this topic I personally feel no need to 1CC a game or whatever it's called, though I've personally completed some games (like rescue Rangers) getting all flowers and items, never taking damage. But I personally just play games for fun, and imo stuff like that is not particularly fun. So I'm just curious about this topic, how everyone feels. I'd reckon that if I mentioned using save states or a game genie, everyone would agree it's cheating, why not ask about other situations?
  24. This is where I'm confused though. So a stage select isn't legit, a glitch isn't legit, but a warp in Mario "1" is or isn't legit? It's only legit if you can complete it without? If you only skip one level? Etc. The whole thing seems extremely slippery to me. For the record, I personally feel you need to play through every panel in Mario 3 to beat it. Even with alternative paths, still gotta complete the other stages.
