  1. The news is always filled with negative things, life is difficult, etc. Let's discuss and share stories of people or situations that inspired us to do better, to work harder, etc. I'm still out so I'll share mine later, but I look forward to seeing what other people post.
  2. @FenrirZero: Okay sure, whatever. You can interpret what I wrote in any way you find fit, that's the beauty of living in a free country. If you want to talk and discuss how you can move forward with your business, feel free to PM me and maybe something insightful will come from it, I mean it's been how many years since you first conceived the idea? Not trying to put you down at all, but after that duration of time you surely should be well on your way to getting it started. And if there's some roadblocks you are trying to overcome, maybe we can find ways around them @LeatherRebel5150 : My apologies that the thread was brought back towards the other topic I really tried to steer it back on track. So getting back to the original topic once again, there are a few folks over here in Taiwan selling AliExpress modern repros. I even had a local guy I know offer to sell me a modern repro TMNT tournament fighters 72 pin cart! I just told him it was too new, he understood what I meant and that was that.
  3. Now then, bringing the thread back around to the OP's initial topic, I've personally learnt just to deal with this new breed of collector. I don't think all of the 1:1 repros are really good for the collectors of original games, but similarly, how often have popular albums been reprinted, old comics, etc? Even souvenir shops in America sell replica American Civil War-era coinage from the CSA. I think such items probably do serve a purpose, it's just not a purpose that I personally find useful. Live and let live though, no need getting upset or trying to understand it, likely a different demographic of buyers.
  4. The above post didn't contribute much to the thread either bud, and something else that I've learnt over the years is people don't like being told what to do Edit: @LeatherRebel5150 & @Foochie776: Boys, eyeroll all you want, but neither of you brought the thread back on topic like I did. That's something you're just gonna have to accept.
  5. Unless the guy's waving his cock in the face of children, let him go. Taking a piss is a normal bodily function, I think everyone's been in the situation before at some point or another. IMO ending up on the sex offender list for something like this makes the list unfortunately a bit of a joke. Furthermore, not relieving yourself could cause internal damage to your body, having to hold it for such a prolonged period. I've pissed in public numerous times over the years, even shat once down an alley in Chiayi, near a 7-11 (which didn't have a bathroom). Wasn't wearing socks that day, had to wipe using receipts and other scraps I found in my bag. My philosophy is that if shops aren't offering public restrooms, then this is the result, what can we really expect? In Germany I used to always stop by a bar if I had to piss, I'd order a beer then head to the bathroom, the beer would be waiting for me when I got out. To contrast this situation, my friend and I had to piss after arriving in Munich, we were walking towards the Oktoberfest venue. We stopped into a Starbucks, they wouldn't let us use the restroom without ordering first and paying, and the line was huge. Left, took a piss in the shrubs dividing the road. A copy saw us, we both stopped midstream and did a legger, after pulling up our pants, before finishing elsewhere.
  6. @FenrirZero: I am honestly a bit disappointed with your rant post above, the baseless accusations, and the anger. At the end of the day, no one (even NTs) can relate entirely with others. At best, we can try to empathize with others, based on our own experiences and knowledge, and at worst, we just can't relate to someone at all. You mentioned earlier that I was disrespecting my brother's existence or whatever, but no, I wasn't - I'm merely trying to empathize with you, on a level some NTs might be unable to do. On a different note, we both know very well that people on the spectrum are all very different from each other, and to be honest, it's something that should be embraced. It sounds like you have experienced a lot of bad experiences during life, many sound similar to things my brother went through, and I'm sorry to hear it, I'm sure that everyone on VGS agrees that no human being should ever have to deal with any of that stuff. What I do strongly disagree with though is not trying to move forward and let those horrors in the past. I've never been engaged, but I was almost engaged once, and the cheating, lies, mental games all took a toll on me, physically and emotionally, it was something I hadn't been able to truly let go of and come to terms with until last week, almost five years ago to the day. i could easily sit down and make a grocery list of terrible things that happened in my life, but I won't, it doesn't change anything and it's just hindering my future. To be fair, no one on here knows anyone else truly, aside from those we know in person. So we can only form our knowledge of someone based on what they post, no matter how correct or incorrect that conception may be. I'm not trying to be condescending to anyone, so if you feel that way about me, then I sincerely apologize. With that said, I also have (finally) reached the point in my life where I don't care what other people think of me - I try to hash out my small corner of life in the way I see fit, and I hope others do the same for themselves. For me, at the moment, that means sitting outside a 7-11 drinking a beer, across from the park, while watching the cars and scooters go by, thinking about my future and how I can advance my goals to improve my own life. Sitting outside of a 7-11 in a pair of dirty shorts and a sweaty t-shirt, old rucksack on my back, the remnants of black nail polish dotting my twisted fingers. But I honestly wouldn't change anything in life, otherwise I wouldn't be here at this very moment, doing what I'm doing now Take care everyone.
  7. I had posted about this about a year ago, but things never seemed to materialise, a victim of covid-19. The wait is over though, for those interested in the English guide to Hungry Ghost Night, here you go! https://www.amazon.com/Hungry-Ghost-Night-Official-Guide/dp/B09KN4H67G I did the writing for the book, it's over 140 pages with full colour maps of all the stages. The warps are listed as well as the best way to go through each stage. The book covers both Hungry Ghost Night games, and also has an interview with the developer at the back. I haven't actually seen the final book yet myself, though I've ordered one. Enjoy!
  8. I know I'm likely to end up on the "blacklist" for what I'm about to say next, so I'll apologize in advance for it; with that said, I think there's a lot to be said and if you want, I can also reach out to you after I've finished my life guidance book, in a few months time. As some here know, my brother is also on the spectrum and whilst being a brilliant guy, he does terribly poorly socially at times - therefore he's also on disability, trying to pass a job interview is a nightmare for him, and even if he did miraculously pass, he likely would run into other problems on the job, unless it were some sort of place that catered towards providing a job to people with such disabilities. Talking about trying to achieve a sense of "normalcy" and what not: my brother tried it back in high school, failed at it anyways, and felt miserable. Just try to be yourself in the world that you live in. In terms of games, collect what you want, within your limitations, and just try not to get caught up in the rest. More importantly though, start dedicating your time (if you haven't already) to improving your lot. I'm NT, but I've got my own share of problems, ranging from being half illiterate to health issues, but only I can work to make myself overcome that. Demanding apologies from people and playing the victim card isn't going to help your situation though, to be honest. If you want, send me a DM, we can set up a time for a video chat and I'll gladly help you to discuss your strengths and weaknesses, and any possible ways to help you get off disability, move on from the past problems, and get your business (or something else) up and running.
  9. It needs to be heavily customised, or else it's useless to me. I generally track the item, status (box, manual, etc), where I got it, date i got it, price paid, etc. But as I collect for obscure machines and unlicensed carts and stuff, general NES full set databases and stuff like that are useless to me, especially as they're western centric
  10. I just use a series of spreadsheets, and I log everything in that I plan to keep before moving it to my game room.
  11. I picked these up tonight from a local guy I know, reseller. He took a trip out east after his girlfriend dumped him, I think she might have been the catalyst for his greed as this time around his prices were more or less spot on. First, a large batch of (bootleg) Chinese language version GBA games. All are brand new from the shop, maybe I should send them to Wata? A few of the Pokemon games are hacks of the telefang games. Then there's the famicom cart, it contains several hacks, one is a near hack of Rad Racer where the hero is skiing down a slope, set to the tune of Jingle Bells. Then there's the Famiclones. I only wanted the green one, never saw one like this before, but was required to buy both. They seem to be a later (or even bootleg) version of the Super Giant / Bitman clones.
  12. Yes, a lot of companies would just mix up parts like that when they ran out, it's weird for us but commonplace in Taiwan. I think the "realistic" art box is harder to find, but then again, it could just be because it was sold first so the cartoon box is more recent.
  13. I think it's just GB/GBC games, but as they aren't designed for a GBA, when played, you can either have them at a smaller ratio with blank space around it, or stretched to fill the whole length of the screen.
  14. I got some GBA games recently, was playing them on my AV GBA. Some of them actually seem like they'd be worth playing outside of the handheld sphere, haha. That leads to the question, do you prefer a stretched screen that's larger, or a smaller screen in correct proportion? Since I'm playing on a TV, I honestly think I prefer stretched, especially if there's text, otherwise it's just too small to be any fun. But on a GBA screen I generally went small yet in proportion.
  15. I just bought all of these tonight, I guess somehow I'm punishing myself or not experiencing joy?
  16. Thanks, I'm in! Looking forward to this round with the new rules
  17. It was only implemented as a way for Nintendo to gain control of a market that had just suffered a few years earlier from a video game crash. The rule didn't prevent crappy games from making it onto the platform - heck, about 80% of all NES-exclusive games are utter crap. Similarly, there were tons of amazing games that never made it out of Japan due to the rule. So yeah, it was all about control, and as such, it was definitely not a good move.
  18. Videomation. It was *unlicensed* on Famicom, though the publishers had the official rights to publish it. The license and seal of quality are the biggest lies in terms of Nintendo and its mythology - it was never about quality, it was all about money and control.
  19. Damn bro, you soon be out of sealed. Definitely gotta grab some more on our upcoming weekend out! Gonna message my contact in that region ahead of time about the best places to visit
  20. All the talk of blue Chillers and Hellraiser and unlicensed NES shit got me in the mood to do something Hellraiser-inspired for Halloween. Not totally satisfied with the face, wanted to modify the mask more but didn't have the time, I'll do that for next year though. I never buy my costumes, I'll just buy a generic mask and start modding it, that's a lot more fun. Interestingly enough, only one kid out of the 300+ I saw that day realised that the screws were real, haha. I know I'm opening myself up to trouble again, hopefully Dr.Morbis has grown up a bit since last time and won't try to use these pics against me when I'm fifty
  21. If I were an average gaming bloke, I'd probably go repro, especially if poor.
  22. Divorce is no problem, as you already have your new lover right there, lol
  23. @Dr. MorbisTotally unrelated, but are you going for a NES full set? Just curious
  24. The interview source you keep referencing is actually an article written by the author of NES World, who even mentioned that the guy he spoke with before writing his article had left the company by Febs of 1990, right before the time that what we are interested in occurred. For the ebay auctions, surely you can find them on Go Collect's NA archive without much trouble, you've already shown your elite skills earlier.
