  1. Graphic designer. We make licensed merch for the automotive industry
  2. Awe man such a tough choice. Gen 2 is my most nostalgic, and probably the one I've gone back to the most. But I also have really fond memories of Gen 3. Beyond that I've played and enjoyed most of them but not as much as 2 and 3. I did like Sun/Moon and X/Y. Sword/Shield I played a little but stopped before getting too far. I'm going with Ruby/Sapphire. For no reason other than timing. I was young for Gen 2 and played the crap out of it, and I vividly remember the upgrade from GBC to GBA and how excited I was at that age. Of course the new games look better but I cared a lot more back then.
  3. You can use analogue products to play on a CRT if you wanted to though. You can also do that with MiSTer FPGA. But I think that's a minority of users, though options are always nice to have. Even if you don't get why they exist, at least take it as a sign of a healthy market for these old games. If a company like this can exist and be profitable, that means a lot of people must enjoy playing these games right? Thats pretty cool.
  4. Welcome! I too am curious what work you have done in the gaming industry
  5. Don't eat it all the time, but dammit sometimes you just want to indulge in some nasty greasy food. Usually I'll go with a Popeyes, Taco Bell or Wendy's. Big fan of the Popeyes chicken sandwich
  6. 9. I thought the game was really fun and novel at the time. But honestly this one game is why the wii was so successful, its hard to knock it with that historical significance
  7. I freaking love CTR. I'll happily play the PS1 game over Mario Kart any day. Haven't checked out the remake yet
  8. I chose 64 because I played it a ton when I was young. Snes was one of the first games I ever played, but I didnt play it as much as 64
  9. I've heard people talking about gratitude journals, which sounds like a bunch of horseshit at first but all you gotta do is take 5 minutes in the morning to write down a couple things you are thankful for or excited about. They could be the smallest things, but seeing these little triumphs on paper and starting your day by thinking positively can have a great impact on your mood and avoid the negativity thats weighing you down.
  10. The first step is probably try to find what the source of stress is and if there's a way to resolve that. I think its important to keep your mind sharp, learn new things, experiment and get creative. Just find things that you enjoy doing that help you grow as a person. I find the biggest cause of stress and anxiety for me is stagnation and complacency. I am always thinking about the future, my goals and what I'm doing to achieve them, and to me if I am seeing progress that reduces my anxiety tremendously. Also, don't be afraid to talk to your friends and loved ones. They'll be happy to help anyway they can and sometimes just venting is the best way to clear your mind of all the stress.
  11. Horror, RPGs and Shoot em ups have historically been known to keep a high value over time. Especially with VR, since it lends itself so well to the genre, get all the Horror asap
  12. From my research the quality of cable does make a difference. I think if I was upgrading my setup to RGB I would want to spring for as high quality as I can at that point. But even if RGB does exist in North America, it was never commonly used. So finding the cables and splitters and all that isn't that easy here. And yes, composite isn't ideal. I figured with the retrotink I could use S Video and Component and be pretty satisfied
  13. Yeah RGB is a hard sell for me in North America when you have to invest in the proper cables, a good cable is like 30 bucks or more isnt it? For all my consoles that adds up. I just wanted the easiest solution with what I had
  14. Hey at least you didn't rob any family members to get it. Happy April fools!
  15. Yeah I'm using S-Video with my N64. There's also the HD retrovision cables that convert RGB to component
  16. I think its good, especially early in your career, to move around and try a few different things before you get too complacent in one spot. You get to try different things, add new skills to your resume, keep your mind sharp and meet new people. I've been at my current job for about 2 and a half years and I'm itching to try something new. Of course with the covid situation its difficult to find a new place to work, but I can't wait to move on to the next opportunity. That said, my current job is secure and I do like the people I work with so I'm ok sticking it out here until the job market gets a bit better. Also I do really enjoy the career path I'm on, I'm not planning on changing careers entirely, but I do want to experience different things in my field. Its different for everybody
  17. Appreciate the offer! Still researching stuff and I feel like I'm leaning towards a Pi 4 because of the Dreamcast emulator but ill keep it in mind and let you know
  18. Thats why I wanted it, I dont want to mod my consoles. Its 95% going to be N64, but its still a nice catch all for all my consoles that don't have hdmi
  19. Yup. I am seeing the box art for the nes game, no error for me. That's odd
  20. My retro think came in, basically the same day I said I didnt have it yet haha. I was playing some N64 on it, and it does what its supposed to. The games run well, not feeling any input lag on my gaming monitor, works great. The visuals are N64, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece, it ain't no ultra hdmi, but if you just want to play some N64 on a modern display, its really good. I haven't tested any other consoles yet
