I think it was closer to $150-160K if I remember right and that collection was missing tons of the big hitters across every system. That was a master class in marketing. Beautiful pictures and set up made someone overpay by quite a lot.

Yeah, I mean if I sold mine I would have no problem packing up a Uhaul and driving it anywhere in the US. Or just have them fly here and help them pack up their own Uhaul.

With all the influx of money into the hobby, I think there is a small chance someone could offer on the entire lot, and not at a substantial discount. Especially if you have complete sets, or close to and have lots of the big hitters, I could see someone going close to market value as a long term investment. It’s happened plenty of times in other hobby’s.

This is a beast to find a CIB of in decent condition for NES. It was one of the last 10 CIB’s I needed for the set.

I think $2,500 for a single CIB game, and I sold the cart for $1800 after as I already had it and made a much more affordable CIB.

We’ve thought about buying a new house. We would want a bigger house, with land but still pretty close to our current suburb as I would like my eventual kids to go to this school district. Figure I have about $160K in equity in my current home which I bought in 2011. It would make for a solid down payment, but our area is all damn high priced, with very little inventory for what we are looking for. If I could convince her (not gonna happen) to move to my hometown (35 miles north) we would get a mansion on the river with 5-10 acres for the $500k we are gonna spend down here for a slight home upgrade on a quarter acre of land.

Good luck if you think these prices aren’t here to stay. Might they come down a hair at some point....sure. But these early video games (In the life span of video games, like baseball cards) will only go up over time.

Weird, because my gba collection is about the same amount of games. But my nes collection is like 700 items and works properly, but my snes collection of the same size doesn’t.

I just got the same error in the same spot, it seems to be sporadic. I also got the same error when simply trying to access my GBA collection.
