  1. Until the end of keeping things I ran a PSone+LCD combo on my desk as you want now for the last few years. I kept maybe 10 games and they worked great for little boring moments with the handy controller right there. I'm not sure how that thing is quality wise to the original but if it doesn't ghost you're in good shape.
  2. Yes I have one, and I have the multicart a2heaven did as well so that has to be on there somewhere. I'll have to check that out, thanks as you have me curious. I still have diskmans site linked too, and here it is: https://www.diskman.com/presents/supervision/cave.htm
  3. I'm pretty tempted. While I like my top loader with the HD NES kit, let's be honest the whole thing kit aside is decades old and it'll last how long? And I have dozens of FC games I use a honeybee with, and that's another dirty connector to get fiddly. I'd end up selling that top loader though, probably at cost too locally for cash, or trading it for a bigger annoyance of a video game price wise I refuse to put up for if that didn't work.
  4. On his scale, while I agree with Sumez that Cave Noire is great, it's a solid 2. You'll have problems between stages wiht the shops and other fluff. In game though it's all icon based and kind of obvious, especially if you trial and error or just look up once what X item does. People been selling it with a translation made years ago to cover this little hang up and it's worth it. Games I tried to list didn't need words or they were truly optional, like Samurai Spirits 3, do you really need a story in a fighting game or some smarmy comment between fights when you kicked someones ass or yours was kicked in? Not really, or with Money Idol Exchanger, menu fluff, but the puzzle is 100% doable on whatever mode.
  5. That would be the right thing to do. I wasn't amused on the pocket when I did have it on the shipping costs as they were like twice what competitors would have charged me to ship to them as a private person, as companies tend to get shipping contracts with discounts. It made me wonder where all that added money went, hidden handling to pocket it? Bad contract and they were at a loss? It just was weird.
  6. There isn't one unless you luck into some strange list on a random forum some person with help cobbled together like you're attempting here has done before. First party early (WORLD) ROMs such as the various Nintendo sports titles, Alleyway, Solar Striker, Super Mario Land, Tetris, they're all safe bets. From experience I know of some, own some of them still too. Lunar Lander, Money Idol Exchanger, Miracle Adventure of Esparks, Sports Collection, Ganso Yancha Maru(Kid Niki2 basically),Nettou Real Bout Fatal Fury Special, Samurai Spirits 3, Kof 95 and 96, Fatal Fury 2 (all in the Nettou series), Noobow, Trip World. Since you added some US release stuff to save a buck, the other Konami ones that are more now Nemesis1+2, Contra, Castlevania Adventure 1 and 2 are all cheaper as JP titles, as are the 5 mega Man (ROCK MAN) games. ...and Bakaretsu Senshi Warrior is CYRAID in the US.
  7. That is great, they'll charge actual normal shipping prices finally. I wonder how this will be accepted(the new variant) once the thrill wears off. There has been a large QC slide from the pre-pocket days with them given the comments seen here, various other forums I'm on, etc with this system. It makes the cynic think perhaps it is a PR stunt to change the narative.
  8. I understand that, but I was told going forward reporting would also get me a point, that's why I asked that. I was told staff was fed up with the usual suspects reporting things and that would get a point, so I held back in what I preferred have unleashed, said what I did, full well knowing I'd get a mark either way because I wasn't going to let it slide any further as I'm done with it as it has gone on years now. Look I'm not trying to argue with you, the point is to show you I was told do anything, you get a point, so I really don't have anything to lose other than ignoring it entirely and letting it continue.
  9. @doner24 Well that would account for one point, not the second, so given I remember being told awhile back reporting would be a point too as the staff was fed up, that's how I figured the math worked out. I accepted the fact I'd get nailed for just pressing report. If this is just going to be allowed to continue, where's exactly the motivation to care? I report, I get a point. I lash out, I get a point. Classic Kobayashi Maru -- no win situation. This is a genuine question, but is this just basically asking while not asking me to just ask you to erase my account and ban my IP, or just keep taking the abuse because seemingly that's ok?
  10. Fine fine, double warn me I'm good with it. I've been complaining about this issue for like 2 years now and nothing has changed. Ask fcgamer, I wrote him after it was seen, and I bet him I'd get nailed for reporting it as that seems par for the course.
  11. Well that's definitely easier than stealing the whole porch which also made the news recently.
  12. As far as Gun Nac goes, lazy, have the Japanese version on a multicart, that new (2023) 253 in 1 that does multiple game saves on RPGs etc. Next time I get something from there I probably will add it to the order. Aerofighters I did do that last year, cost me $10 +2 for a clearance sports title to transfer a 1:1 label to, and it's on my shelf. There's your honest answer since you honestly asked, went both directions with it so far. I'd have left AF alone but the shell was brittle, off color, was light like a few pieces of paper, and just sucked.
  13. At what point did your ignorant self absorbed ass not get the memo from the staff to NOT talk to me or about me? A stalkers life is never done? I know you're from the SF bay area but enough is enough, I'm not interested, find someone else to get turned on by already. @Estil Nearly 3mo now, but wouldn't Ground News also do something like this?

    Or an admission of guilt.
  15. You know there is an irony to that plane crash, Wagner was on board, and like any good Wagner opera, everyone dies in the end.
  16. I've bought the occasional vintage game, usually PC though, just to rip the shrink off and use it. One is a game that EPIC just won't pop up on the old game (GoG) type sites, but sequels (Epic Pinball) they will. I found a sealed up copy of Silverball 2! Plus and ripped the wrap off, popped in my usb floppy drive and installed the game as I used to enjoy it decades ago, still holds up, still fun in dos box. Done this with some game boy stuff too, I have no shame, but they weren't over OG retail either to be fair because I'm not insane. I am a former collector, not a collector by proxy because I keep like what I will enjoy to still use or grew up with that didn't age into a badly unpolished turd with time. So for me, when I see Gun Nac for $10 in a 1:1 external NES cart, or $500 in the clown circus on ebay -- fuck yeah I'll pay $10 to get the same look, feel and play of that original game I once had. I did it with Aero Fighters too, it had a crap cart shell, so I gently removed the sticker and used a clearance sports title to get it looking right because $1000 vs $10 is a no brainer. Can not possibly care less if that triggers someone, because I don't, and I don't support the current system as it sits. To me the title of the thread for me mentally has an alternative wording: 'The repros/bootleg solution.' Mind you I have no issue dunking on a bootleg vintage or not if I end up with a real copy of a game, just did too, Ike Ike Nekketsu Hockey for Famicom which came in the mail 2 days ago. @MegaMan52 Don't blame you one bit there with RE2 on GBA, if I were more a fan I'd do it. I've been strongly considering the dual set of carts, though primary the first, of PC DOOM and DOOM 2. IN recent years the GBA games got hacked hardcore restoring lost/changed bits of content and restoring that M rating too and it's an impressive hack/restoration but I never seem to come across it even on ali.
  17. Finally doing something about people bitching about your endless posts about local beers and "complete" unlicensed games that don't count.
  18. Plane crash is a bit more tidy, leaves some room for plausible deniability even with a proven missile strike. I couldn't help to laugh at the wagner opera where everyone dies in the end as that's about right here.
  19. Probably could be as simple as a rotted battery box, popped wire, busted trace a simple solder job could fix after potential clean up. $150 or not, given what legos alone go for these days, to get that display piece at that price seems generous.
  20. I guess the three groups kind of work, at least one of them is just a default that's off to the side -- collectors. They could be just collecting old dead bugs pinned to the board and they'll want them all of some type. That leaves gamers and casuals. Both them will overlap because they'll look back and remember the good times they had with a few games, few in both. The few on a casual would be those who just got wii sports/resorts, something mario, something mario party or other party, maybe trivia even and got with family and friends. From there the casuals drop off, and you have gamers. They'll largely rightly dunk on waggle, it went a bit too far, but some will also point out how the thing simulated a mouse pretty well so FPS games were a bit of a joy, point and click games (even the port of Indy Fate of Atlantis) worked really great as did the unique ones like Zack and Wiki. Then it'll get into the weeds of the gem games that did drop here and there like Fragile and a few others, but again, focusing on FEW, because much of the library was CRAP, shovelware crap, cash in crap, franchise spinoffs ranging from good(DQS and Dead Space) to garbage fires. They'll point out the few greats, and much will overlap, and then slam the rest. That's what it'll get remember for, passing fun for all, a few core solid games for the gamer types, but the stigma of a mountain of crap will ever be present.
  21. Maybe now it's the Collecting Investment Brotherhood? I mean, if the last 10 years are any indication, that fits more than the rest of the choices.
  22. Ugh sorry, yeah I know how that is. I recently sold off my DQ4 game, gave a guy (hah) a deal on it for $100 locally since it was rolling around 140-150 online. He was thrilled, I felt bad it was that high. I kept the guide though, paid $7.50 (50% off sale) for the iOS version. DQ9 should never cost that much it was a dumpster basement deal since it was over produced. It is total crap 100%. Like I said I'm over the bs. I want to purge some of the toxic elements I have now, and just refine what lesser I care to keep and support, and of that most of what I do get anymore is local only, non online priced only (around the $20+ mark for that) or I just don't want or need it. Most recently I've just been snapping up famicom titles which are far less toxic. I'm working a 2nd PT job now, so my time is a bit more limited, not going to waste it on shenanigans. I've had 4 FC games come in the mail the other day I still haven't had time to try out because of it.
  23. Is there a particular reason you decided to act like a prick and post that? How is that relevant to this thread? A year old thread is woken up, Dave doesn't even post about sachen or beer, and this. Grow up.
  24. Going to have to agree with this, but do wrangle the 3DS into the DS pile as it's as bad, actually worse given the lame virus never let it flatline when it sunset like normally happens. It just got toxic and stayed bad. I'm at a rate right now I'm looking to offload all my DS and 3DS stuff that remains a game or two aside I'd give to my kid that she'd like to play such as Mario 3D Land. 18~ games, 1 handheld, couple cases, and a pokewalker and it's worth around $1500 which is asinine. Gamecube I'm really on the fence of it too as the toxicity of it is so off putting I kind of just see it as a huge risk with few benefits given it's optical, touchy discs, it's not a good thing.
  25. HAHA If I had any idea you were using 20 year old batteries and hadn't slid it into position I would have mentioned that. All of the R-Zone models have that stupid on/off yet still won't work until setup right to get power to the device. I had one of them the XPG handheld which is really the best of the lot, and despite having that switch, you need to get the mirror pivoted out and set, and have a game in the slot too, or it just is dead, and the old lame eye piece one similar mechanic as well. I mean, I get it, it makes sense but at the same time is kind of stupid you can't just turn it on requiring it setup right first. That said the tiger r-zone line v2 and v3(yours) are great if you love segmented handheld tiger games. They go to the next level on those because you get a better audio package, but they also coded enough of the games to flow smoothly like a real game even if it ticks along to each segment. Daytona was a personal favorite as was Panzer Dragoon. On the racing game you could pivot around the track visually in segments, but control wise, you smoothly moved around hazards which took a bit getting used to but once you did the game flies.
