At this rate what was a wow thread is turning into (not your fault) multiple people shitting on dave for the sport of it. Sure at times he makes it easy, but really when is enough enough? If you want him gone that bad, you're fed up with the posts and threads, then either coax him directly into leaving or have the staff just add a few more remaining warning points and have the board do it for you all. Seems at this rate he was afraid to keep posting because of some implied threat of punishment if another post was made and that says a lot. This is getting pathetic watching this shit show unravel. Erase the dave posts and responses to it and refresh it on point or just lock the damn thread...sheesh.

I'd agree with the find a local group if they exist and are friendly to buyers. We had one or two in the area here on such goods, but the person running it now wants a premium for the effort of scouring the county and charging a premium for their efforts. At best now it's more wise to just look around on various closed/invite groups and you do get some really nice stuff and reasonable people and they patrol for scum quite well and rat it out so you can feel safer.

Your Super in 1 on the SNES looks suspiciously like the one I have but the picture isn't the best, if it's not, it's from the same maker/lot I imagine with the boring blue screen and white text to pick something from.

I've been watching these online since word of them leaked out, slowly but surely the fad is wearing down as the price keeps slipping on ebay. From what I've seen it plays a sold LCD version of it, not quite on par with like Gameboy, but nicer than much of the older keychain things. It's more fun that it is tetris, mcdonalds nugget, and an actual tetris license. It's a shame it never made it out of there as a store item to purchase except in china.

@Link Red cart, white cart... famicom carts were not uniform. They came in a rainbow of color, the two most common were black, then white, after that you got into red yellow other colors, down to some where it was a one off like Salamander. And nazo = mystery in Japan, so usually an adventure (played or text based) game usually with some mystery to unravel in the story, if not an actual literal mystery game. Also you and Japan agree overwhelmingly with RBI baseball as that's #1 on their list as Pro Yakyuu Family Stadium. I was surprised Castlevania III was that far down the list for them with that superior audio in that section. And also GnG taking #2 in Japan isn't a surprise, that top one is a notoriously broken game that should never been released with all the problems it has, most people can't finish the first area/stage of the game it's that bad.

I don't know about 20k or 1M, and not even sure why it made me think of it either but if I could get something very cheap and had the opportunity knowing it had value but would rather people be able to use it I would release it. I did too, back in the NA days which infuriated the hell out of a number of people. This could go tldr and I won't. Tried to get the Faria mail away map for at least a year or so, asked kindly if someone could scan it, ended up being mocked, teased, someone sent me a scan after running it through like some 90degree+ swirl every X many pixels rendering it unreadable. I put the work into looking for it, found it with a copy of the game and got it. I took the best settings I could with my flatbed scanner and it took hours, but I stitched multiple images together (both sides), lined it up perfectly, cleaned up a few pen marks with photoshop CS2, then saved masters and a PDF. At that point I sent it to Digital Press and sent it to my personal webspace and released it. I caught a good bit of flack, especially since I refused to watermark it. I was serious then and meant it when I swore if I had a chance I'd release it so other people could enjoy it, have it publicly archived, so others could enjoy the game and struggle a bit less.

Maybe it's figurative a general comment. I can think of some random games that have been thought lost or never made beyond some casual statement (text) listing of in the future that did crop up but not come out. A few years ago we saw that Magician Lord NeoGeo had a sequel coming on the NGPC but it went from text, to the owner of the game showing off pictures, videos, and then static. Or it could be thinking about SimCity which showed up fairly recently that was shown off in NP around 1990 with Earthbound to just get ghosted for decades, but that DID in time eventually come out. There are people out there who do just buy games to conceal them in their collections scrubbing what little info there was about it (usually unless someone saved a copy of the sales/auction page.) Got crazy enough an aliexpress sealed up snap case with GBA 369in1 cart new for $5 the names they put for games are so utterly laughable the engrish is worth it alone, yet it is basically all the pokemon, all 4 mario adv, mario&dk and superstar saga, along with a few random ones like mmpr, wwe, road rash (around 20~) GBA titles, rest is pocket nes and insane. Then $20 I think it was for a MOTU strydor(missing 1/2 guns and tail), lost vikings gen, tom&jerry gg w/manual, and thps2 for gba. All around win of nice variety and at a nice value.

If you go back a decade it gets thin if you count year vs project, but about that far back Hyper Fighting (SF2 Turbo) was converted famously. I recognize your fruit fly game and the rest, the idea of taking a bit of a few small projects and turning it into a multicart of sorts is a smart move. it adds variety to where you get the value from many games in one cartridge in the end. It's not so much about the value of the adapter, it's minimal in the big picture. It's more about just an original launch day or shortly after cartridge where not knowing if they'd fail they just made adapters in the factory and mounted the existing Japanese boards to it to minimize their costs if they took a loss. At that rate they could toss the adapters and shells, and salvage the actual working games for more Japanese sales. They only popped up in original carts with the smooth top(fold side) that has screws instead of 2 plastic tabs, and those five screws show be flat head instead of 3 security bits.

I always found it strange to see it brought up even 30-40 years ago and passed it off as a marketing thing on how intense a game was. Never once had it or even a sore thumb from playing, but I do see cases over time like ones in here where I guess it is a thing. They would get assembled into legit retail like packaging of the box and manual. I'm not really sure if they were vaulted up after that tucked away, thrown out as is, ripped, burned, whatever as I never cared to ask. Present back in the day along with the first TMNT from my uncle. I've always liked it, just never loved it. Nothing really surprising really about why as it has been discussed to death. Unique game, really great sunsoft music, good weapons and strange creatures. Problem is, it's overly hard due to some weird design choices coupled with having to grind dragon quest like almost to get the weapons not to suck, and taking a hit diminishes them annoyingly like blaster master has happen (also from them.) It's a good game, not great, some flaws, but if you can tolerate it it's a nice ride for a time or if you care to finish it either way.
