  1. Wow...ignore, seriously? I can only imagine what I did. Real mature either way broadcasting that and doing it.
  2. Given the sports games tend to be a dead give away, it looks like 1997 because NHL and NBA 98 are there, and the year before was when they came out dated for the following. Also other late ones like Final Fight 3 and Pocky & Rocky 2 are on there.
  3. That's possible looking at that. I saw some note about it when i started to dig after being curious, and you're seemingly confirming what others feel was the case too. At one point people really felt that power pad would take off, just I guess, wasn't the right time or audio capability yet. I mean like look what a PS1 era generation did for the same type of mat but for dancing with DDR. Who knows what if the NES had some wicked chip tune audio going, dozens of tracks, and then some 8bit DDR seizure worthy visuals going on? That could be fun.
  4. Remember back in 2019 when a few weeks or so apart there was this one goodwill I hit the motherlode on with the virtual boy and sealed pokemon red? It has been a stain since, nothing there, but rarely and usually delusional bad too such as $160 for a broken DMG in a generic case with a stack of maybe $30 in GB game commons. That changed today. If it wasn't right near my kid school I wouldn't bother, and hadn't in weeks, maybe I have a gamers psychic spidey sense but avoided half price and went there instead to spot an odd metal case on the shelf, looked and saw the tag, and asked to see it, and it was this... VERY happy. Any wear to the SP is largely those few thin lines on the outer shell you see and a select few hairline scuffs to the lens inside, that's it. I only own Chu Chu Rocket of those games and outside the skate one, seemingly they're not crap looking them up. The odd parts some are garbage (blue ones) but the rest seem useful too. Going by the SIMS2 save data, guessing mid-older teen/early adult who cared better for this thing. I didn't need another 101, but I'll always hold onto one for use given how expensive and awful things are now, a spare is a spare.
  5. Maybe it was perfect I listened to, the art I think had a giant cross out of it and remember some reds and blacks to it. Either way I've heard a few over the years, usually dumped on youtube in some sketchy way to check the stuff out and it was a nice background filter.
  6. @avatar! Trust me I'm very very well aware. I was being non-critical of it in the bubble of the US market only and what piddling crap Konami has allowed, it's big, and only for that reason alone. I would love nothing more to have Akamajo Dracula Best 1 and 2, but sheeit...they get expensive when fanboys find them on ebay so I just largely don't bother to remember to look anymore. Game soundtracks have become more toxic as a side effect along side of the games too. What LRG/Konami did allow here is a nice if not very very abridged selection of quality pieces as a gimme in a game package. If this were a sale item on its own I'd be peeved that's how little they'd think of US consumers in that case.
  7. @Reed Rothchild I can understand that, relatable really. Like I think going by personal knowledge and unfairly so comparing to the PC, while I would probably want to rate Wing Commander probably a little better than you did, because largely it is intact, there are gaping issues too. While I'd want to put it in one spot I'd easily slide it 50-100 lower because of the not silky smooth turning and the idiotic password system. Your boost of Brandish I'd compare with my total agreement (mostly assumed since you wrote nothing basically) with moving SF Alpha 2 over the others. Why? It's basically intact, a technical achievement, and really it is the best fighter on the system as far as characters, mechanics, moves possible. Sure it has the 4sec decompression of audio after it yells 'FIGHT' before you move, and that is sucky, it's not game breaking either. It is even more intact in many ways than the PS1 version with a very poorly rendered movie vs actual game content driven opening demo, less sparks (-1 to -2) when hitting people, and other weird bits which makes it all the more impressive.
  8. I got another package earlier that was found in the wild that popped up on the original area map. I think they're auto transported back to the owner because when you go into the menu (items, saving, etc) one tab is for lost goods/internet gimmes and it was lit up, and when I clicked the name of the person I returned stuff to, I was given a reward. I also finally got KOd in the wild too, dropped 4 items, now they taunt me on the same screen but I don't see a way to clear that or return them to me which stinks.
  9. Anyone else here get the collection I did with the mid-tier extras? That audio CD has a fantastic selection of tracks on it, and interestingly enough it emphasizes the Famicom expanded audio choices on CV2 and CV3 vs the NES ones. They do repeat those few tracks on the end of the CD for the American purists though. The packing on that thing was not well done, the box is so overly stuffed it's impossible to get much in and out without doing some damage to the box unfortunately. I'm curious if anyone else here is enjoying some of those Castlevania goodies. What have you done with the weird dust sleeve? How about the big poster? They also had thrown in the box another fold out which is sort of a mini magazine I guess, I never could get it to unfold well to read it it's so stiff. If anyone is curious here's a scan of the disc and track list on the rear of the sleeve.
  10. For both I spell it out, but I also will say NES or NIntendo at times for the original, and call the other the SuperNES or Super Nintendo. If you see old promotional video from the company that's how they intermix it too so I feel that's the right way and only intelligent way to say such things. Usually though Nintendo would just say the full name since it's branding, but I was thinking in side talk caught on video at shows etc. What gets me as it's like nails on a chalkboard is when the others are used, especially calling the older the NEZ or the other the SNESS or SNEZ. I've corrected people before on it because it's so grating, and if I catch someone being a fount of intelligence on youtube and they utter it, I'm done...it goes off. I put it at the level of stupidity as someone calling Pokemon PO-KEY-MON. There is a reason that line is over the E fool Pokémon
  11. Around here the old game sellers don't make it only their bread and butter, whether it's the faux little guy yet oddly national reseller like half price books, to the legit local ones from misc shops to pawn I tend to treat it largely the same and that includes to a point even free donation places too. If the price is the same as online I'm not buying it. I don't care if they have a warranty or I can see it first. I value my time, money, and general wear and tear on the car etc going from A to B. If they want online prices, just put it online, and if they want higher than online...I laugh and walk away. Currently my half price has the Ocarina of Time 3DS guide for $105, easily bought with no effort for under $50 on ebay. They also have a $200 PS2 game (SMT Devil Summoner 2) in average shape for $300, you can buy it new with the big box plushie for that. $100 for a standard used PS1 and $110 for a black gamecube?? You know why I still go there? They slip, but also because it's between here and my kids school right off the road with zero effort made or I'd stop. The actual mom and pop in town I did quit because they're even more deluded and have the same games on the shelf now for over a year now getting dusty (but their other non gaming stock moves.) The mom and pops around here they don't just do games, it's a part of a larger whole that'll do old toys, comics, music, movies, board games, pen n paper, trading card games, etc...so they don't get a break on it as largely the other stuff helps with that overhead too. When it comes to the national stuff like half price not much can be done they price larger if they use the computerized sticker vs the local little white ones... if they're 20% off ebay average or better I'm in, if they're not... screw em. That's games, anime, books, audio, other movies... if you're not going to be reasonable I'm not going to waste my time and money. But I've also changed track and 95% of what I buy anymore has been local only, and do I really 'NEED' it or just want it? Yeah so there's that too.
  12. I wholly could not agree more on that statement. Dracula X on SNES takes so much unfair crap just for existing. In Japan they were clearer about it, sensibly calling it a gaiden basically, a side story to the CD game Dracula X and as such call it Dracula XX (double X) there... which for idiot westerners looks like dracula porn. The SNES clearly has no CD capability for audio let alone storage of assets, clips, etc. SO the game isn't that, it's a side story scaled back but not crappily minimized adventure. It's pretty high quality Konami, and in a SNES bubble, it's one of their better releases too. It's sadly by dumb westerners picked on for being garbage and pegged with irrational unintelligent arguments why it is. I feel largely the same on the clustering of the Vikings and SF titles, it needed to be as much as they're sequels and spinoffs more than entirely unique games and being so core similar beyond your usual sequels it fits. Same reason why SFA2 needed to be broken off and put higher, it's a larger game, more technical achievement too, and a true ground up sequel unlike the SF2 trio which are patchy upgrades at best. I don't get the love for ZAMN either, it's good, but not top 100 lose your mind excellent either. So far largely I've agreed with most of where this list of them all has ranked stuff. Very pleased to see a rational good point made about Final Fight 3 too as it gets stupidly bagged on as well.
  13. If you're asking if I was making a replacement for the hidden API or whatever people were using to track ebay data, no that was not me but it was being done by someone else.
  14. I so far only have had the 3 original missing packages in the game, and I had no issue just clicking them to return. After that stuff shows up in that menu where you have some reward to tap on and you get something for doing the hunt. Basically if you go where it says it is on the map, it's a very very small package and it I found blends in almost too well depending on the terrain. But either way it should be there, if not, I'd be worried.
  15. Same here. I've been following this for some time digging more info the US news conveniently glosses or ignores. Also of course we have dave here who lives in Taiwan so you can get more nuggets of the bs China pulls as they're clearly not fans of the party in that country either. Rand Paul is entirely in the right on this one digging as he has, and thankfully he's a doctor who has kept his license up too and that seems to make Fauci uncomfortable when he spouts off stuff that would go over the rooms head normally, then gets pissed when the senator catches him in one of this roundabouts on information. Yes gain of function, you take a virus, you study it, you genetically tamper with it, and then check to see what more it does after the fact...that's what the US has by a middleman trickled back to that country and that very building, where it seems points to where it came from. The brave doctors who haven't been gagged and shamed popping up pointing out this stuff can't have evolved as such naturally, then the whole connect the dots isn't so challenging. It's disturbing, and let's be blunt... was it really an accident? I question that too, it likely was, but still in the off chance otherwise...what if? This whole gain of function thing that got funded ties back to this, and well as you said, worrisome.
  16. I get it, I did find it funny, got done with that page now, and oddly the wrong one is called out as Neo Geo, then the right one doesn't mention it. Bust A Move is a wholly faithful and exceptionally well done conversion of that Neo Geo cartridge (i own it and its sequel too.) It has the least compromises of Neo Geo games on the SNES. Not saying a lot though, the arcade fighters tended to scale the sprites which on SNES it doesn't do. SFC doesn't hit your list or Magical Drop would be another brought over. Also nice one...I agree with you on SF Alpha 2, that game needs to stand above the others just a little, what they pulled off there using the SDD1 chip was nothing but miraculous. And even in the day when rated, it actually just eeked out the PSX for not being the worst (between those 2 and Saturn.)
  17. Oooh nice glitch, and Brandish gets promoted? How far did 125 slide from to get there? Nice. I've seen so much of it, yet aggravatingly still don't own it. It's a fantastic game from the makers of more notable gems too. Might want to correct Aerofighters sentence or two a bit. Yes Aerofighters is an arcade game, but NO it is not a Neo Geo game. Video System who made it did it on JAMMA on their own with nearly another 30 games to their name. The two sequels were on Neo Geo (I own both.) Mc O River whoever those one hit wonders are ported the video system game to SNES. AES vs MVS -- Think Famicom vs NES. AES has short pin rows with different pin outs like FC (60 pin) vs the MVS which has longer pin rows with different pin outs like the NES(72pin) did. And yeah, you got off track. I had the pleasure and displeasure too of owning the game, I love it, love I had it, disickens me going on 15 years now NOT having it being a victim of unemployment hard choices. I want it back so bad, but at that price, I'll just enjoy the sequels, maybe a nice 1:1 repop as a middle finger to sharks would be a just reward. Or to really match my 2 MVS games, get the Japanese version SONIC WINGS. Though on MVS the BIOS sets the language, SFC Sonic Wings still would be in Japanese.
  18. Good input I for one detest the random encounters, was so hyped when I found them to be gone... gone finally in this, gone a few games back with Dragon Quest, etc. They're just grating, especially when the random generator is a bit starved for attention happy. There are though plenty of surprises I've found, not all is random. I've had stuff just pop out at me while wandering, once was a graveler like 20 levels over me -- ran like hell from that thing. Speaking of finds, seems Eevee is kind of rare in this game? Or a least early on or maybe only a certain time of day? I just found a 2nd one where I found the first originally... the first I somehow turned into an espeon, but the other I had randomly found a fire stone so now I have a flareon too! I do agree the pokedex is a bit overkill in some ways. I really don't want to do 10-20+ battles on each one, and independent of that Go style captures as well that many too. I've got one of those fill it outs on the cricketot thing, and that's too boring to bother. I totally agree 5-6 hell even 10 depending how many requests there are for the pokedex would be fine, but now having to grab like 50 or something more is just looney tunes. The story to me seems varied and with a primary and secondary layer to it too which is great, like 90s style RPG great, nothing overly bloat loaded like a modern RPG would have that's just too much. Ultra Sun/Moon did the couple layers of depth story for the first time and it really sucked me in, same with it nuking the shitty overkill gym grind too which has put me off the games largely. Visually detail wise it's a step over SnS so that's good, yes it's more sparse more often than not, but this is like a 1000 years or whatever in the past, can't expect a world of millions. They largely put the better detail, animations, reactions into all the pokemon instead of using old 3DS cloned and copied minimalist stuff.
  19. @CMR I bet that got minimally demonitized if not removed, then threatened by lawyers for action put back up. There are a few news outlets on youtube that get thrashed like this always over china in general but the virus too, despite not doing conspiracy whacko stuff and just reporting the actual info that some media clown cars like to try and bury. You do realize some will troll you for posting this probably since the heritage foundation helped assemble it which is a right leaning conservative think tank organization. Doesn't matter if facts are there, the source is enough to pull out the tin foil hat brigade.
  20. So are any of you digging into Pokemon Legends Arceus? I've been picking away at it a bit every few days for an hour here two there so not super far. I'm close to a 3rd star on that thing, finding a few helper side quests confusing to figure out, others are pretty straight forward. I did the whole thing of dealing with the 2 special regional pokemon so far, the 2nd where you have to calm it. I need to return to town to speak with the commander of the group to move along. I really thing this is one beautiful game both in the story/depth of it, and visuals. The gameplay changes are big and small, very welcome, and very fun to deal with too. The light touch of crafting is nice, not heavy handed with breakables like AC does annoyingly, just nice little things to create useful tools. It's nice being able to observe, catch, or battle to win/catch stuff and not having to be endlessly boringly trolled to death by asinine trainer battles, wash rinse kill me now repeat gym battles too. This is something the franchise has needed for a long time now, much like how breath of the wild really revitalized the fun of the zelda franchise taking it out of repetition hell too.
  21. I got this around a decade ago now. Kind of one of those things you see in the day when it was on point at a store and wish you could ask an employee for it and just couldn't. I have it hanging near me over a comfy chair just in case it ever took a fall, never has thankfully as it's in excellent shape on both sides (and no cracks.)
  22. I'm curious what this bee biss nonsense is that it needed a sequel. Random place holder title as the game isn't a real thing. This looks nice in video though.
  23. My Castlevania Collection showed up today, the classic box which had the wonky nes dust jacket thing, box, slip cover, poster etc. All things said, not impressed with the packing, it's very stuffed in there, overly stuffed to where it does harm to the box. BUT...I went in on it for the audio CD and I'm very impressed with the over 20 tracks it has. I don't get why they refused to tell people what tracks they were when it was assembled, but whatever, gamble paid off. I've already MP3d the stuff and uploaded them to my phone.
  24. Agreed, but I would add, I think it's high time they just did that very thing... print and print until the interest drops off, ie: the Atlus model. It has served that company fantastic for what 20 years now? Given how many games LRG has put out, and could even by now re-issue in small repeat runs to satisfy real demand versus scalper garbage, it would be great. Also, I have both Strife and Quake on order, they delayed both at least once, very aggravating for what's basically a long finished game they just need to stuff on a chip and be done with it. Also as much as they bug me I looked and looked, but felt I had to order Valis Collection because the usual english release in the Asia region didn't happen. (And it's not on PC either...why?!)
  25. @LeatherRebel5150 Wow now look at that. I have to admit I'm kind of surprised they haven't done it before now given how they are about stuff, plus they do(did?) peddle through Best Buy too. They're hardly limited run anymore, they're more in name given they seem to have some pretty large reach for their humble roots. I'm seeing a few items for sale now that they were pushing during that once a year sale last month. Maybe they didn't clear them all or held some for that.
