  1. Professionally, I have no problem with the response. After all, I’ve worked for a company that had a completely false story about it published in the NYT. It’s a professional response. It might not be completely honest, but it could be. I think it would be fruitful to see a rebuttal with facts that counter the argument though. However, most of the time it just gets taken to the attorneys.
  2. I’m really looking forward to buying this game and waiting 6+ months to get it. Once again, I have 7 games from this spring that I’m currently waiting on. I honestly wish I could buy a free shipping membership and just buy things individually.
  3. I’m not really interested in how he got his collection or claimed to have gotten it. I lurked at NintendoAge for years finding random info on questions I would have so I don’t know him. I can easily see your criticism of the line of thinking and it coming off as bitterness. However, it could be relevant from the standpoint that if one has a track record of being dishonest, then you should be cautious trusting them in the future. I’m not claiming this is the case, nor do I really care to find out. I’m just saying that I can understand being skeptical about someone IF they have been dishonest in the past.
  4. I don’t have any sealed or graded games. I’m a cart only guy who only really has CIB games when things moved to discs. I don’t personally understand the graded market, but I’ve had levelheaded users like @RH help me better understand the preservation aspect of the hobby. I will say that I find the video to be pretty useful in seeing some connections that I saw in bits and pieces over the years just looking at these companies that impacted the market. I can’t try to mind read intentions, but the interest in investors jumping into the hobby is not surprising considering other hobbies that have seen booms. I think some of the hype coming from the examples in the video are genuine belief in the industry, but I do think some of these transactions and the publicity around them are questionable. I work in a profession where independence is critical to my career and it’s clear to me that it is lacking in several cases referenced in the video. As a person who values actual and perceived independence for industries where reputations are critical, especially when considering so called authorities, I don’t trust pretty much every party mentioned in this video.
  5. Nice update! This list has been one of my favorite video game reads ever. The effort and originality of the reviews has been truly entertaining and informative. Thank you!
  6. I got it too! Haven’t had a chance to play yet.
  7. I don’t get it. The English version is just subtitles. Just slap them in there and be done. It’s not like you’re adding voice acting.
  8. Does anyone know if the US will have a physical release of the Famicom Detective Club games? I saw today that the JPN version doesn’t support English.
  9. Do you mind pointing them out? I would like to go back and double check out mine too. It would be helpful to know what to look for. I have a pic in the pickup thread from October 2019, but I didn’t take a pick of the top of the label. I know my board is legit. Pick up thread post
  10. Are your loose NES carts just pushed toward the front of the shelves?
  11. Chrysler has been known for poor quality for at least three decades. My family bought a Town & Country back in 1998 and the Chrysler mechanic told us back then that they were built to last only about 100K miles. Meanwhile, our 93 Mercury Villager made it to 270K miles. I refuse to buy Chrysler.
  12. How do I go about getting started on something like that? I feel overwhelmed at the prospect of doing that. I’m not the most handy, but I’ve learned since owning a house for a few years. I’m decent at things, but I definitely am cautious and take a long time to make things perfect.
  13. I’m really at a loss on picking out shelving. I used to have some Billy bookcases but they were taken over by the family. Ideally, I’d like something that isn’t quite as deep as a Billy but doesn’t cause my games to hang over the ledge. I’ve debated trying to get an old entertainment center with bookcases. I’m just not sure. I’ve also thought about bookcases with glass as most of my carts are loose. I just don’t know what to do.
  14. Hey, I’m pretty sure that my 2021 Odyssey turns on all of the lights when you open a door when set to door settings. As far as the Sienna goes, 2021 is a brand new generation. The last generation started in 2010 and finished in 2020. My wife was very particular on safety and the Siennas didn’t do so well on the small overlap passenger side crash test until the 2021 revision. This would be if the passenger side clipped an object near the headlight. I think it was acceptable or marginal in performance and was good in 2021. The Honda has been good since this current generation started in 2018. I think the Odyssey seats are more comfortable, the middle row seats in the 2021 Sienna cannot be removed due to air bags, and I find the Sienna brakes to be really difficult to gauge due to the hybrid engine which actually has the electric part of the engine going in reverse while you slow down. The Sienna ride isn’t as quiet or smooth at the Honda and some of the interior touches like the seats, steering wheel, and console feel cheaper in quality than the Odyssey. The Sienna’s AWD is something we really wanted, but the Odyssey does have a snow mode which transmits power to the rear wheels. The Sienna AWD is electrical, not mechanical and I believe that is a new feature. I like the touch screen of the Sienna better. The 2021 Sienna is hybrid and more expensive than Odyssey. I was able to get a touring Odyssey for about $3.5K less than an AWD XLE Sienna. The touring Odyssey came with a blu ray player entertainment system. That is optional on the Sienna. To get a comparable FWD Sienna, I would have had to add another $5-$6K, bringing up the difference to about $8.5-$9.5K. I couldn’t justify paying that much more. If I added AWD, I would have been looking at $10-$11.5K more. For me, excluding the entertainment center, I was looking at about $8K higher with the Sienna to get the leather seats for my kids. It was too much, especially since the middle row doesn’t come out. That’s just my two sense. From my understanding, they’re both great and reliable minivans.
  15. This is so true. We had minivans growing up and I was disappointed the few times that I rented a 3rd row SUV. They just can’t haul as much. The Odyssey also either the most or close to the most storage space out of all the minivans.
  16. I think that they’re pretty easy to remove and put back in. I have a pretty high threshold though when it comes to moving things.
  17. For what it’s worth, my parents had a 2005 Odyssey that had 374K miles on it, so their reliability is really great. The drive on the Odyssey is much smoother and more comfortable than the Sienna. I also like the extra cargo space as new Sienna seats can’t come out because of airbags in them. I also like the V6 engine and 10 speed transmission. It feels a lot easier to accelerate in it. After driving 4 cylinders for the past 13 plus years, I forgot how nice a V6 is to drive. I’m not a car guy at all, but I feel much more comfortable driving and enjoy having an easy and smooth acceleration. The Sienna hybrid lacked that smoothness. I can’t speak to the Kia as I did not consider it.
  18. So, it was only six months later, but I ended up buying a new 2021 Honda Odyssey before the year ended. We decided on a minivan for the space, especially the ease of getting out of the third row. I actually was planning on getting the 2021, redesigned Toyota Sienna. It’s a hybrid and AWD. I liked the Sienna interior better than the Odyssey, but my wife had doubts when we learned that the material is faux leather. The kids have super sensitive skin and react to various rubbers and plastics. So, after spending half of the day at the Toyota dealership, and taking the van home for my wife to test drive, I went to the Honda dealership and went home with my first new vehicle ever. Here’s to hoping for 200k+ miles and 10+ years before I have to replace this thing. Now, we’re all set for our third child’s arrival in a month or so.

Sold, will have other stuff at a later time.
  20. I saw it on the last Indie World Showcase. It looks awesome. I’m just going to wait for the physical release.
  21. I’ll be picking up the game for sure. I’m debating the Switch. I really like that the tablet is actually red. I’m having a hard time telling if the joycons are the same Mario Odyssey red ones and look lighter due to the contrast with the blue or if they are a lighter shade, but darker than the neon red.
