  1. You probably still have some miles in there. Hopefully, prices will be down by then. I was fortunate to get in before the chip market shortage and while the demand was low. My parents got 375K miles out of their 2004 Odyssey before having to replace it and my 2003 Accord had about 275K before we got the van.
  2. You’re making a comparison and I’ve pointed out that it’s not really comparable. I’ve provided a more comparable example and you made a vague comment in response. I’m asking for you to prove your response. It’s apparent to me that you cannot support your position and the discussion is over. I’ll move on.
  3. Give me examples of Moody’s quotes about the value of the bonds being worth a certain amount for bonds that they are rating.
  4. And I’m saying that the comparison is essentially worthless as they are remotely similar at best. Please don’t take this as a personal attack. I’m speaking solely of the comparison.
  5. Show me the credit rating agencies telling people to buy bonds instead of other investments. Moody’s and the other credit ratings agencies have been fined multiple times for conflicts of interest. In your bank analyst example it’s really not the same. Sure, they have a conflict of interest, but their industry is competitive and they need to be reasonably accurate or they’ll be negatively impacted by it. I’m sorry, they have some similarities, but it’s really not the same as something like a credit rating or collectible grading. The government, and possibly the investment community, expect more independence in the latter situations.
  6. Sorry, meant to say that I went with the Honda. It was cheaper and I really didn’t need the AWD. Having a hybrid for the Toyota would have been nice, but the Honda was more comfortable and the acceleration was so much smoother.
  7. This is completely different. WATA would be more comparable to Moody’s telling people that the bond market is undervalued and people should move their money from stocks to bonds.
  8. My dad is this way with sour cream. He loved Cheetos for years until we told them they have sour cream in them. He hasn’t had them in probably close to 20 years.
  9. Just an update, the van has been awesome. We’ve used it for two cross country trips to see family this year. The ability to slide the seats sideways in the second row has been great. It has allowed my wife to sit next to the baby in the second row and get the kids into the back easier. We couldn’t be happier. It’s a great van. I highly recommend it to anyone looking.
  10. Portillo’s chocolate cake is really popular here in Chicago. They use mayonnaise in it. You wouldn’t even know.
  11. I sure feel this way. I have more stuff that breaks, more space to clean, and a big yard to take care of. I’d rather have invested the money, but it’s good to have all that with a group of kids running around.
  12. I post on some home theater forums and those guys don’t mess around with banning you for breaking the rules. There is little slack given at all. It could be because it’s geared towards an older crowd.
  13. I didn’t even think of that. Tbh, most things like that go over my head.
  14. From their website: The inspiration for our name, Wata, comes from Bruce Lee: “Be like water making its way through cracks. Do not be assertive, but adjust to the object, and you shall find a way around or through it. If nothing within you stays rigid, outward things will disclose themselves. Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. Now if you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. Put it into a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow, or creep or drip or crash. Be water my friend.” Personally, reminds me of my mother in law from Brooklyn saying water.
  15. My guess is they probably did their due diligence and figured the risks were minimal or non-existent, especially considering pretty much all of this information was already out in the public and easy to research and they would seem to be a competent acquirer. That’s why imo, there are some just some independence issues that I personally see as troubling based on the nature of the grading business and discussing valuations of items that you are grading. Ideally, you’d want your authority on grading to just be concerned about the authenticity and condition of the games and let other companies focus on the valuation of what the games are worth. I think about credit rating agencies and their independence standards as an example. With that said, we’re talking about a relatively small company, in a new and growing market with lots of potential versus an established, enormously more economically significant, broad based industry.
  16. Good to know. My backlog is already embarrassingly enormous. I need the kids to grow up so that I can play some games.
  17. I’ve considered it, but the art style just doesn’t sit with me. I don’t know what my problem is.
  18. Yes, I believe so. Jason was super cool when I visited him. He was a genuinely nice guy.
  19. You probably don’t remember me, but I still really enjoy that WON sign you sold me a few years back. Thank you! You were a great dude. I enjoyed taking the drive from Chicago to St. Louis to meet you.
  20. I think he’s just trying to give you a helpful suggestion so that you don’t give dissenters to the video technically false information that can be used against you in an attempt to undermine the useful information in your video.
  21. I’m sure there are a lot of people with them, especially people who sell lots of games. I know I’m not going to pay taxes on the sale price of a game. You have to track and establish your basis in case of an audit. I guess you could be like Peter La Fleur.
  22. I still need to take my sexual harassment CPE for my Illinois license. Can you help with that?
