  1. Wait, why are we fighting, I only wanted to know if anyone knew a recent sale price, lol.
  2. Has there been a public confirmed sale of this recently? Does anyone have a good idea what a cart or cib would be "worth"? There is a beat up cart/cut box on Ebay for $300. But it hasn't sold and has been there a while. Anyone know?
  3. I got a copy of Super Mario World - Super Mario Advance 2 and I noticed that it has two embossed numbers on the front. I don't think I've ever seen a game with two, but I've also never had this game before. Has anyone else seen a GBA game with two numbers? Or perhaps have a SMW-SMA2 to check? I don't have much GBA experience. Numbers are 11 and E4.
  4. Not to throw salt in your wounds, but what was your potential buy price?
  5. Cleaned and tested a lot of NES games, sold via auction to a 0 feedback buyer in CA. Gets the games, says they don't work and asks for a refund/return. I don't really have much of a rant here beyond it sucks because I have to pay for the shipping they paid to get the games AND the shipping back....all because some moron has a dirty NES... Fighting a return in a he said/she said situation is a no-win. I'm only out $24, but the feeling of being over a barrel when the buyer is wrong stinks...
  6. According to what I read in Mr. CIB's links, the tax law itself hasn't changed at all, just that they are now requiring platforms (Ebay) to send a 1099-K when you hit $600 in sales. So...if you've been following the rules already, then there isn't going to be any new tax hit. If you haven't been reporting Ebay sales, then yes, you'll have a slightly larger tax bill. Luckily you can deduct the heck out of it with expenses (cost of the item, envelopes, Paypal fees, shipping) and it isn't that bad. Certainly not bad enough to avoid Ebay as a sales platform. The biggest annoyance for me out of all of this is that Ebay is going to need my SS#. The less places that is floating around, the better.
  7. I sold 75% of my CIB games once the pandemic happened and prices were going nuts. I got great prices, but I would have gotten even more had I waited. I kept some of my better pieces and I'm glad I did. Good cardboard and paper for Nes/Snes/N64 isn't going down any time soon...if ever. If I'm an old man and a mint first print CIB NES Zelda is 100k I don't think I'd be shocked. I also think an even further rise in rare PS2 and common/popular sealed PS2 is about to boom. That was the first non-cartridge system I had.
  8. Never used Instagram before. Just signed up and searched for something I'm looking for but have never seen. Found one and messaged the photo taker. Hopefully it pans out. Thanks for the tip!
  9. I was TENGEN on NA. I have never seen a NES controller with the script on it. @Speedy_NES has a CIB one I believe. He might be able to chime in that the one in his box is unmarked like the OP.
  10. My daughter, who is obsessed with Sonic and therefore 'hates' Mario, has completely flipped her opinion after we got 3D World for Wii U. It's currently her favorite game. The best part about it (for me) is you can just turn into a bubble during multiplayer if you want a break, then join back in whenever.
  11. I'm going to guess that they just made a corporate decision and cheaped out on the NES controller, even though the Genesis and Snes ones have Tengen branding. Tengen was nearing the end of its life, so cost cutting was probably a priority. If I had bought this as a kid I'd be pissed off more about the fact that the cord doesn't come out the side of the controller like the pic. 2X false advertising!
  12. I have a sealed one and a box only. Another collector I know has a CIB one and said that the controller had no branding on the front. I've been looking for a Tengen branded one for years and have never seen one. Does the back of that controller have any kind of company name or address? It would be strange if it was totally blank.
  13. I thought the embossed number on the label was always the easiest way to call a GB game legit. Has anyone ever seen a fake with an embossed label?
  14. Bumping an old thread, but are you sure it is fake? I have heard people talk about the LTN code. Apparently it was released in South America and they only did it for the Pokemon games. Here is another red one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pokemon-Red-Version-Game-Boy-1998-APAS-LTN-region-/313419324778 You can see the embossed # on the cart. EDIT: Just realized that OP's pic is the same exact pic as the 3rd one in this Ebay listing. Is this the same seller who had the lot?
  15. In case anyone wanted a Playtronic version of MM6: https://www.ebay.com/itm/AMAZING-PLAYTRONIC-BRASIL-Nes-NINTENDO-Mega-Man-6-with-the-Blue-Label-VERY-RARE/274722618835
  16. https://www.ebay.com/itm/VHTF-Gyromite-Nintendo-NES-Non-Hangtab-Box-3-Screw-Complete-CIB-Game-Nice-OEM/273930622633
  17. Which thread is that? I'd be curious what the date codes are.
  18. This is the only verified boxed/sealed copy. The pics are from the old site. It is not mine. I suspect they destroyed the manuals too. As far as I know, this is the only box (found in Canada), and I think there are 3 manuals? All found in North America.
  19. If that was the case, why would the box have "For sale and use in USA, Canada and Mexico only" on it? If they had no plans to sell it in the USA they would have had "For sale and use in Mexico and South America only" Maybe they made a 5000k print run for the US and didn't want to make more. Then Nintendo who was pushing the top loader in 1993 swooped in and bought the distribution from them, so they sent the carts to South America since they no longer had the distribution rights to the USA. Just a guess, but it makes the most sense to me.
