  1. This is a FO Thread now...Anything I have pictures of, I'm actively trying to sell (there will typically only be a few of these). Paypal prices are not negotiable, but trade value prices could go lower depending on what trade items you have to offer. Everything else in the spreadsheet I will field offers, but my Paypal prices will probably not be competitive with eBay - you should buy the item there - If you are looking for cheap games (10-30% below pricecharting), then offer me a trade for something on my list (there are over 1000 games!) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SU3qk0et7WoNVqpI9vdTtxL_iNP9YjoBvx9u9xLQLpk/edit?usp=sharing GBA Metroid NES Classics - Factory Sealed H-seam (light creasing on one side) Cost: $220 + Shipping (Paypal) or $140 (in trade value - Please check out my want list!) https://imgur.com/a/WYeOxNp GBA Dr. Mario/Puzzle League - Factory Sealed H-seam (no discernable flaws) $75 + Shipping (Paypal) or $35 (in trade value - Please check out my want list!) https://imgur.com/a/KeHlmjo https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1SU3qk0et7WoNVqpI9vdTtxL_iNP9YjoBvx9u9xLQLpk/edit?usp=sharing My available entries look like this: CART? MAN.? BOX? System Game Notes 1 DS Advance Wars Dual Strike No sticker, just blank cart, works 8 7 DS Big Brain Academy 10 10 10 DS Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow Factory Sealed The numbers indicate the condition of that item - So in this example, I have a cart only (the manual & box columns are blank) Advance Wars Dual Strike that is in poor (1 out of 10) condition (and as you can see, my notes say it is because it is missing the label). I have a case and manual (the cart column is blank) for Big Brain Academy that are in great used condition (7 & 8 out of 10 respectively) and a Sealed NIB Blue Dragon: Awakened Shadow that is in perfect condition (although it may have stickers/security tags that I have not figured into my condition ratings). Please read the tab "Condition Definitions" to see what each number indicates. I would say if you only want the mintiest of the minty (and are willing to pay for it), you don't want to go below 8. If you like a nice used copy (at a reasonable price), 5,6,7 are all solid choices. 4 is still pretty good, but really starting to show some wear...3 & 2 have some major issues (but might be cheap?) and things with a 1 are usually pretty bad (and are probably dirt cheap). You can navigate the tabs at the bottom to see my wants. I also have a tab for my top wants (some with bounties), a tab for my high end (usually $500+) items available for trade, and a tab for systems/accessories (both available and wanted). You can also create filters to help sort thru all the items - I plan on adding things at least monthly (highly likely that it is more often than that), so feel free to sort by the "Date Added" column to see the newest stuff. Final points - I am not usually willing to break up CIBs to sell manuals or boxes or IBs separately. Any wants that I have that were initially sold in cardboard boxes, I would be happy to trade for IBs instead of full CIBs. I have other games I'm willing to trade (not in my list) for my top wants - if there is something you are specifically looking for, please ask...I especially have a lot of GBA, N64, and Gamecube CIBs.
  2. I wanted to share this because I feel like it is a good example of how you can still find deals on eBay...I almost feel bad for the guy, because he had to pay $35 to ship this! So, the "title pic" of the eBay listing only had a picture of the 6 CIB games (which were sports titles plus Virtual On), but the Title said "Saturn games/Controller gun/memory card", so I look at the rest of his pics and read the description, and he's got 3 things I've been looking for: A stunner, a copy of Christmas Nights with Sleeve, and at least 3-4 nice condition OEM Saturn cases that I can take from those sports games...His pics never showed everything together, and you had to read the long description to piece it together, so I got all this for $120 (after shipping and taxes) - I actually won the 5-day auction...was the only bidder at $100... I The second Christmas Nights and the Street Fighter Alpha 2 don't have game discs, same with one of the Daytona USAs, but STILL! According to this eBay auction that ended today, I basically got my money back with the complete Christmas Nights and everything else was gravy! https://www.ebay.com/itm/Christmas-Nights-Into-Dreams-Sega-Saturn-1996-/174838559391?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l44720.c10&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true
  3. I have been selling a few Pokemon GBA and GBC games, and I've been replacing the batteries if they are dead...because 99% of the people who want to buy them would rather have the save functionality (or timed events for the GBA ones) and if I don't list "new battery", every question I get is "Does it save?/Do the timed events work?". However, I keep the original battery in case I do ever come across a purist...And when I sell one, I'll ask, "Do you want me to send the original battery with it?" (Nobody has ever taken it). So my question to the purists (mostly @JVOSS), If you bought something like that, would you be cool with it after you soldered in the old battery, or once that new battery went in, is it "forever unclean"?
  4. I can't break away from my childhood nostalgia enough to put the SNES anything other than #1. But #2 is a close race between Xbox 360 and Gamecube - I feel like my love for consoles revolves around how comfortable their controllers are (which is why there will never be a Sony console in my top 5).
  5. A lot of N64 fakes have a dot over the "i" on Nintendo on the back instead of a little square...kind of tough to see in pics sometimes tho...
  6. If you're buying games off eBay, as long as you read the listing and make sure it doesn't explicitly say "repro" or "custom" or [insert whatever nice sounding thing they are using for "fake"], you can always return them...I haven't bought a ton of SNES games off of eBay, but I bought boatloads of GBA games...and sometimes the pics were just blurry enough for me to not identify the warning signs...I'd call them out, send pics of the boards, they'd fight sometimes, but 80% of the time they either take the bootleg back or just say - "You take it." I actually kind of miss the fight...I always would start with, "Your listing did not mention this game was a reproduction." and I had a guy once who was like, "Yeah, but I didn't say it was AUTHENTIC either!" His defense did not hold up in eBay court... Ebay will side with the buyer 100% of the time in a situation like this (and practically every situation)
  7. I agree with @Tanooki on the disc part...too easy to scratch them up when they are loose like that...Disc-based games are one of those things that I'd rather pay up for CIB and only have 20 of my favorites vs collect disc only and have 100 games...I just have a feeling that your "disc-only" collection is not going to hold value well either...if that is something that is important to you. DS & 3DS carts are different IMO - They hold up fine and I think there will be a strong market for them in the future, just like there is for cart-only GB/GBC/GBA games. I personally only collect CIB (for every system - NES/SNES/DS/SAT/GBA/GEN/PS1/PS2), but if I felt a cash crunch I would have no problem collecting carts/manuals for anything that was in a cardboard box, and I would probably do cart only DS/3DS without hesitation.
  8. Dang! I wish I had some "got for $1, now worth $1,000" stories like a lot of people here! But I'm not complaining tho - CIB Shantae off eBay for $650 (won the auction...NOT a buy it now lucky grab!) probably about 4 months into when I started collecting (early 2017) probably tops the list...mainly because there just aren't very many games out there that command multiple thousands... Pocky & Rocky w/Becky CIB for $250 in 2017 off Amazon and Ninja 5-0 CIB a few months later for $250 off ebay are pretty solid $ pick-ups as well... Oh, and I have 3 NIB Cubivores that I think I got for $300/each probably back in 2017 again... Man, 2017 was a great year...
  9. @3rdStrongestMole I'll buy it off you - $500! Quick $100 for your trouble! (Any extra you can talk the guy down is just gravy for you!)
  10. The 3DS Library is loaded with really great games, I would say there are at least 100 3DS games I'd consider "must play" (even tho some of those are remakes). Even if you aren't into the 3D effect, there are just a bunch of neat games for every genre...most that you can't play on any other system - Kirby Planet Robobot is a top-notch 2D platformer, Mario 3D Land is a top-notch 3D platformer, A swath of Fire Emblem games that are some of the best turn-based strategy has to offer. Bravely Default for hardcore J-RPG fans, a couple of new Mario & Luigi games (and a couple of great re-makes) for lighter RPG fare, some great Layton games for puzzle fans, MarioKart 7, Luigi's Mansion 2, a top-notch Zelda with A Link Between Worlds, and even some solid horror games with a couple REs and two Zero Escape games. Wrap it up with a heavy dose of Pokemon, and what's not to love?
  11. Not super common...but not exceedingly rare either...I bought my "blue box" copy a couple years back for $15 Sealed I think? I remember seeing a big lot that had like 20 games and 4 or 5 of them were sealed "blue box" copies, so they can't be THAT rare...I don't think the entry-level GBA collector knows much about variants like that, so when they do pop up on eBay, there generally isn't a scramble for everyone to get one...it wouldn't surprise me if it jumps in value someday...but I think the fact that the "yellow box" is so cheap/plentiful as a substitute will ultimately limit its value. A similar situation to the AIA/Ignition box variants...people just don't notice/don't care for the most part. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but the cart label is EXACTLY the same as the "yellow box" label (yellow) - if the cart label were different, I feel that might have added to the collectability.
  12. So, I'm doing some random Mercari searching and up pops this listing for an "Old Game": https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m25194130737/ What satisfaction does the person who posted this get, exactly? I mean, I imagine it is a pair of 10 year olds and they're like, "Let's see if we can make a fake listing and get someone to buy it! That will be hilarious!" But they have just straight up failed. If you know a 10-year-old that wants to be a troll, show him/her this and tell him/her to think bigger: 1) Find a picture of a USA CIB (or just cart, to make the "Got it from a relative" story more believable) - I wouldn't even pay the $50 for a PAL (Norwegian?) copy...c'mon now. 2) Name the listing "Little Samson" or "NES games"...the "Old Game" title screams scam. 3) Put $1,000 on it - Someone locking up $50 on their credit card for a couple weeks until you cancel the transaction isn't very impactful, but locking up $1,000 on their credit line - now that is a dick-move worthy of a Grade-A A-hole. 4) List it on a different troll account that DOESN'T have 22 cancellations and a listing up for two copies of "Pants Restaurant" https://www.mercari.com/us/item/m82551972497/ Damn...Wish I would have gotten my Pants Restaurant when they were on sale 2 for $70...
  13. Nice find on the Motocross Maniacs 2...it does NOT come up often on eBay...I was half-heartedly looking for it for 2 years before one finally popped up at a reasonable price last year (and it was inside a bundle). That series is super underrated on the GB/GBC/GBA!
  14. Of course they did! Thieves! Cheaters! They're one in the same!
  15. Pretty solid list from @Tanooki and @RpgCollector, I think @Sir Centroid is also a GBC expert, so hope he weighs in...but with my limited GBC knowledge, I will go with these: Shantae Wendy Every Witch Way ISS 99 Bomberman Quest Return of the Ninja International Rally Space Marauder Titus the Fox Batman: Chaos in Gotham Lil Monster Survival Kids
  16. I was torn between putting this in the "seller silliness" thread or this one, but I realized the seller is a genius...he spends $.25 on a jewel case, $.10 on a blank disc, and $.15 in printer ink/paper and people just throw their money at it. It's one thing to shell out $5 for a repro/bootleg because you don't feel like doing it yourself, but $25? You could buy an authentic disc for that much and actually have something that might hold value...plus don't these Dreamcast repros only work on early model Dreamcasts? This listing makes me throw up in my mouth a little... https://www.ebay.com/itm/324677871531
  17. After inflation runs rampant and our society devolves into chaos, the fiat currencies will be worthless...and all that will remain to barter is physical copies of video games...Coversations you'll hear 30 years from now: "Dude, I filled up my omnifuel tank at the gas station last week for a cart only copy of DuckTales on NES, now they want a CIB Double Dragon II? I mean, I paid it, but I kept the poster - they ain't getting that." "Got into Harvard and my Dad sent his WATA 9.2 Sticker Seal SMB for the 1st tuition payment." "This is a robbery! Everyone empty their Gameboy Advance cartridges into the bag, and you won't get hurt!"
  18. Well, after searching thru a couple thousand GBA boxes, I did not find anything new on the "Plays on DS" box variants...I only had the 3 "always" ones and one Pokemon Mystery Dungeon...did find a couple of stickered ones tho:
  19. You know, I'm not a big "variant" guy...I mostly go for standard issue stuff, but I saw your comment and tonight I'll take a look thru my collection and see if I find any more...I don't spend a lot of time in the "Collecting Guides" section...but I'm still surprised I missed your post from last month - I usually try to weigh in on GBA posts when I can! No Prob! Happy to help!
  20. @Tanooki - There are actually 3 different variations of those Nicktoons 4-packs! I have the other two, which include the games "Rocket Power Zero Gravity/Spongebob Squarepants Supersponge/Nicktoons Freeze Frame Frenzy/and either Fairly Oddparents Shadow Showdown or Fairly Oddparents Enter the Cleft". I want to believe you saw that other 4-pack (colloquially know as "The Movie 4-pack") so badly!! But my guess is it was one of those other two
  21. And @Sir Centroid is the winner (well, close enough anyway)! I have been actively seeking out boxed GBA games since late 2016 and I have never seen a boxed copy of Ultimate Beach Soccer on eBay or in real life... For some context, I think I'm about 20 boxed games short of a full GBA set (but most of these are just commons that I refuse to pay $15 for...) There are 3 (kind of 4) that I'm having a hard time finding... Yeah, I'm sure there are rarer variants - like that Dexter's Lab/Power Puff thing, but that isn't a game, it is just a box with two cartridges and two manuals in it...there are like 4 or 5 of those "double pack" things and they are all pretty rare. There are also Big Box variants that were sold at Costco I think - (there are pics of them on the site here - @RpgCollector has a couple of them), and games with toys/collectables that are rare...but as for your "run-of-the-mill", standard issue GBA games, the winners are... Little League Baseball 2002 - I've seen one for sale once...it was sealed and it was $400...wish I would have bought it now... Ultimate Beach Soccer - Mentioned above...I have the only North American manual I've ever seen, and like I said, never even seen the box...one did pop up on eBay a year or two ago, and it sold in about 4 seconds... And the #1 Rarest game: Nicktoons 4-pack (Spongebob Squarepants: The Movie/Hey Arnold!: The Movie/Wild Thornberrys Movie/Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius) - Finding just a cart of this is actually pretty tough...interestingly this eBay auction had one thrown in, and I almost bought it just to get the cart... https://www.ebay.com/itm/154486141855?hash=item23f817739f%3Ag%3AgXQAAOSwt21gwBS~&nma=true&si=aIbWKF99McchAr9r%2BTDfZ3SuAyw%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 Some of the other games listed by other posters are either pretty rare (Several of the GBA Videos- especially Nicktoons Vol 3, Word Safari, Ice Nine, Bee Game (there used to be a guy on eBay named dextersjerky who only sold homemade jerky and sealed copies of The Bee Game...for $300 - I bet he lives an amazing life...that's where I got mine...but I have seen that for sale CIB maybe twice otherwise...) or just expensive (Demikids, Ninja Five-0, Pocky&Rocky) - I actually have multiple copies of all those, some sealed...but of course to buy them you're forking over $600-$1200 nowadays. Here are a few more exceedingly rare ones: Army Men: Turf Wars - Only ever seen 1 for sale, it was in terrible condition, bought it anyway Tweety & The Magic Gems - Never seen it for sale on eBay or Amazon...got my copy from a local gamestore somehow (and pieced together a second copy from lot of boxes only where I also got the box for... Sega Rally Championship - I've actually seen this for sale 3 or 4 times now, it is borderline common at this point Ozzy & Drix - Go ahead and find one...seriously try to find one. Top Gear GT Championship - I think I've seen this for sale twice now...the first time the guy had 3 of them...now I have 3 of them. MLB Slugfest 2004 - This is kind of turning into the "expensive" category as you can get them off eBay right now (and for only $280)...but I think I went my first 2 years without seeing one for sale. Spirits & Spells, Tiny Toon Adventures Scary Dreams, David Beckham Soccer, Soccer Kid...I could name probably 30 games that you'd have a tough time finding over a 6 month period even if you were searching every day like it was your job. There are probably another 50 that are really tough, but not "ultra-rare".
  22. A very poorly done Mercari listing netted me this nice little CIB Gamecube bundle for $70 (including taxes/shipping). It seems like an OK deal...until you realize the Ultimate Spiderman is sealed!
