  1. C'mon! It has to be PS1...I call every system that was the first of its kind the "Whatever"1...Nintendo1 (NES), Gameboy1 (DMG), Xbox1...wait...
  2. I find I don't mind sellers who list things that seem completely off base...They generally fall into two categories 1) Someone who knows nothing about games and is just wildly throwing numbers out there - In which case they can just be ignored and nobody will buy their garbage, or 2) Someone who is offering up something actually rare and is just gouging the niche collectors that want that item...I have a hard time being upset with them, they are just trying to get the most money out of their game...What if they don't care about games, but just know what they have is rare? I try not to do this, because I don't like screwing over other game collectors, but if I got a Jackson Pollack at a garage sale for $5, you better believe I'm going to gouge some ultra wealthy art collector for $3M+...not just re-sell to someone who really likes Jackson Pollack for triple what I paid... On a personal note, I've been trying to acquire 3 GBA game boxes...The value to non-whole set GBA collectors is $0. The price guide value (pricecharting) for each of the 3 is $0, $12, and $136. I've been offering $500 each and nobody has stepped up...I would love it if a gouger put one up on eBay for $3,000...I might not buy it, but it would give me hope that they were out there...and maybe I could eventually talk him down...but he could also bet on me (or someone else) being so desperate they just pay for it...Hey man, if I feel like paying $3,000 to get a game "worth" $12, I'd rather have the option to do so than not have any avenue to buy the game at all. What I also like about it is that when one sells for that much, it pulls more out of the woodwork... I feel like I bring up this example all the time...I was sick of searching for Colin McCrae Rally 2.0 for GBA...I had been looking for 4 years and never seen a boxed copy for sale. One came up for sale in an auction on eBay...price guide value at the time was like $25...with 3 seconds left, the top bidder was $65. I bid $700 and was outbid - The guy got it for $710. The next week, 3 CIB Colin McCrae Rally 2.0s came up on eBay for $800 or more from 3 different sellers...I just waited 2 months, kept making offers, and ended up with one for $300...still WAY more than it is worth, but at least I was able to get one!
  3. I have played almost all of them, and they are pretty fun in general. I typically play them very stealth focused, but you can fight/kill enemies as kind of a 3rd person action game if you want in most cases. There is a lot of parkour/climbing/traversing cityscapes. The overarching story is kind of weird, but each game's individual story is pretty good. The first game is OK, but is very rough compared to future installments. ACII is the real start of greatness and is carried over into Brotherhood and Revelations (collectively "The Ezio Trilogy") ACIII, the one you are asking about, was one of the weakest IMO...Black Flag (ACIV) really brought the series back and had great naval combat. I actually haven't played "Rogue", that will be the next one I play, but feelings towards it are generally very positive. Unity they were going for a multiplayer theme and it was the worst of the bunch (besides AC1) IMO. Syndicate was great, but that was when the sidequests and "other" stuff started getting a little too tiresome for me. I played Origins, and there was just so much to do/discover that it overwhelmed me...I got to the credits after playing for 75 hours or so, but there was still tons of stuff I didn't do. I haven't played Odyssey or Valhalla because I view them as too much of a time sink after playing Origins (but I do own them, and will play them some day). I find my "history buff" friends either love it when they bring in historical figures/incorporate them into these outlandish sidestories or they hate it because it is so far off historical relevance. Anyway, you should at least try one of them! (but please not ACIII...it is not a high point in the series)
  4. Looks like I'm going to strike out with this one...
  5. Can you believe I got this clean CIB copy of Castlevania II: Belmont's revenge off eBay for only $200 (after taxes/shipping!)??? I have been trying to get one for 3 years...but I've been outbid at least a half dozen times for $325-$400 copies...this has to be one of my best pick-ups so far this year...
  6. I am a pretty boring collector...I like buying retail copies of games (although I always prefer CIB) and I'm not real condition sensitive, so that means (at least for now) 5 figures is a far-off dream (nightmare?). Plus, I'd take ten $100 games over one $1,000 game any day of the week - Love the massive selection of great games to play rather than just a few great ones...$10,000+ games are for investors, prototype guys, and art collectors, not really gamers and nostalgia freaks like me. Right now my most expensive game probably cost me about $1,800...and I might have spent over $1,000 on one other game...but I do have dozens of games that I forked over $500+ for, and probably hundreds that I paid over $100. I'll probably break my record when I finally suck it up and buy Clayfighter to complete the N64 set, but I would guess there are less than 25 games on my want list that are more than $1,000, and none over $5,000...
  7. I think you may be right...I just can't tell the difference in the carts by the picture...that is great tho - answers my question.
  8. This is for North American NTSC carts. I often see two different retail versions of Majora's Mask - One with a lenticular ("holographic") sticker and one with a normal sticker...My question for N64 experts - What box does each come in? I know the lenticular sticker came in the "Collector's Edition" box originally because I still have my original one I bought from Best Buy in April 2000...I thought the "normal" sticker variant came with the box that didn't have the little grey "Collector's Edition" box on the front, but when I look at them on eBay, like half of the Collector's Edition boxes come with the non-lenticular sticker...Maybe there is a way to tell with variant codes (USA-1 carts?)? Or maybe I'm missing something else? I'm hoping someone can re-create this table, but make it accurate...and not just me guessing: Collector's Edition Box: Lenticular or Non-Lenticular Non-Collector's Edition Box: Non-Lenticular Lenticular Sticker: Always Collector's Edition Box Non-Lenticular Sticker: Could be Collector's Edition or Non-Collector's edition Box
  9. I was digging thru my old "gaming adjacent" stuff and came across a few things...partially wondering the value, partially just sharing. First, I assume I got this from pre-ordering Banjo-Kazooie from Best Buy? I don't remember doing that, but it does seem like something an 18-year-old me would do...I was surprised to find a couple on eBay for $200+(!) and they were just the CD - opened...What would this shirt/CD combo (New) be worth? Should I send it to WATA and put it up on Heritage? The seal is immaculate! (I joke, I joke...crazy times these are...and no offense to my sealed/graded collecting homies out there!) Then, I worked in the Walmart Electronics department while I was in college (early 2000's) and I got these lanyard cards from our Nintendo Rep - She would come around and give out dumb stuff every once in a while and change out the 'cube demo disc... And finally, I'm sure I also got these from the Nintendo Rep (but don't care about the value...because I'm going to wear them on my arms and face when I finally go back to my desk job...) Gamecube tatoos!
  10. Nice! I'm a huge GBA fan and there are so many great games for it - It's a Super Nintendo in your hands! I'm jealous of your "Arctic" original GBA...looks just like my original that I peddled away to Gamestop so many years ago for $3 store credit and a piece of my soul .
  11. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Xenoblade-Chronicles-2-Torna-The-Golden-Country-Nintendo-Switch-Brand-New/174667788115?hash=item28ab02ef53:g:VNIAAOSwGAhgQpiG I feel like Amazon recommended this to me for 6 months straight every time I bought something and I kept saying to myself "$30?? It isn't even a whole game!" Regular ol' Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is apparently $100+ CIB now too...
  12. Aren't a bunch more of Shantae & the Pirate's Curse in production (and this time in a Steelbook) tho? I remember buying this, but I thought they sold them separately too? https://limitedrungames.com/products/september-11th-mega-bundle
