  1. So if I understand their website site correctly, if I find and submit 4th print sealed Mario (and they value it at $660k), I have to pay $14k just to get it graded? That ridiculous! Considering the relationship between WATA and Heritage, it’s hugely advantageous to them for auction prices to go sky high. I guess that explains why some of these auction sale prices don’t make sense to anyone. I’ve thought about submitting a couple games, but the more I follow this stuff, it just seems dishonest, manipulative, and unethical. Make that money I guess.
  2. As a kid I had (still do) a copy of Mario All Stars that had a SMB3 glitch that would allow you to switch between the suits by hitting select. It also made a glitched out boot option. It didn’t always happen, but sometimes. Anyway, for years I thought it was a false memory because no one else I told that to believed me. But, all of my siblings remember it too! When I started collecting my brother gave me all our games from our childhood. I tried it a few times but couldn’t make it glitch. I should try again.
  3. True, that’s a good point It’s more about getting a high grade and a good flip than actual significance. I think for certain game titles a proto/sample is more significant (for example a certain Lucasarts title that didn’t get Japanese release, lol). I agree on your last point though. I’d rather have a sample cart over a sealed copy if monetary values are equal. Probably not the best mindset for “growth”. No matter how bad I want a sealed copy, remembering seeing a game in a bargain bin for $10 as a kid, or $300 a few years ago won’t let my finger pull the trigger at $3k, even though I know it’s not getting any cheaper.
  4. Maybe this has another thread, but why haven’t prototype and sample carts prices increased as much? Even uncommon sealed games and graded cibs go for more than their protos! I assume they’ll be in demand someday. I just find it odd since most of the high end new collectors are all about first appearances and key titles, etc. I’m sure if a Zelda or Mario proto came up for auction all the proto prices would explode.
  5. Good buy! In 5 years everything will be dried up and 5x in value. Having said that, by then Bitcoin will be $1,000,000, houses will all be $1,000,000+ and the dollar will be hyper inflated to Zimbabwean levels (the Fed will tell us its all fine) so it’s all relative and won’t matter. Either way, this stuff doesn’t ever seem to get any cheaper. As long as you’re happy, it’s worth it!
  6. $660k! Pretty sure we’ll see a game hit $1,000,000 this year. Crazy! Super Mario Bros. - Wata 9.6 A+ Sealed [Hangtab, 1 Code, Mid-Production], NES Nintendo 1985 USA.... https://comics.ha.com/itm/video-games/nintendo/super-mario-bros-wata-96-a-sealed-hangtab-1-code-mid-production-nes-nintendo-1985-usa/a/7242-93028.s
  7. Had to look that up. Definitely worth the time. Imagine what humanity could accomplish if we weren’t all wasting our time on stupid pursuits. I approve though.
  8. I think that’s kind of ridiculous, but I’d be curious as to why they put the sign up. There had to be a specific reason. As long as someone isn’t holding up the line and are just browsing, I don’t see a problem. You can’t know the value of everything so it’s ok to look up a game to get a general price. I agree with paying a little more at a brick and mortar store, but how else are you supposed to know what a “fair price” is? If they called me out for it, I’d probably just leave.
  9. Wot in tarnation is going on lately? Just 2 months ago this game was going for $250-$300 cib. I swear I keep seeing this: Someone posts a scarce game for an r-tarded price, someone undercuts them slightly, a third person undercuts that and sells it. It’s still 5x the previous price, and that becomes the new bottom.
  10. Still looking for the variant. Also looking for an SNES NTSC sample cart/proto for the game. Probably a long shot, but gotta try. I have an NTSC Ghoul Patrol proto and a PAL Zombies Sega Mega Drive sample cart I might be willing to trade for it.
  11. Also looking for a copy of the variant box (cib). Offering $1,500.
  12. They’re Probably Narcos. Remember Pablo Escobar lost an estimated 3 billion dollars a year due to rats eating money in warehouses. Whether it’s $9 or $9,000, either way it’s pennies to some people. Could also be some sort of money laundering scheme (I’m joking but always skeptical). Honestly, it is pretty interesting and kinda fun seeing how high these prices are going.
  13. If it’s legit it’s one of the best condition boxes out there. It almost seems too nice. I’ve had a couple different saved searches on eBay for the variant box and it doesn’t show up on either, or under sold listings and one of them is “Zombies Ate My Neighbors Variant”. For rare stuff the saved searches are about worthless.
  14. No, I don’t think bounties or WTBs work. At least from my experience I’ve never had any luck trying it. For harder to find stuff I’ve tried reaching out directly to people that are known to have an item (which honesty feels kinda gross) and having luck on occasion. Knowing what to offer is hard too. Prices are climbing so fast that you can’t just look at past sales. I’ve made some offers on stuff I thought was high only to be left on read and then have them tell me they sold it for far more. Definitely luck and timing involved with rarer stuff.
  15. I saw this pop up for sale yesterday on EBay and thought there was no way it would sell for $1,000. Their reasoning was the only other one on EBay was the graded 9.8 asking $9,500 and that theirs was a bargain. It sold in a day (without a BIN). It hasn’t sold on EBay this year (that I can tell) and pricing apps have it at $350ish. It tripled in price I guess? Its my favorite game, but it’s also fairly common. There are 50+ CIB copies on EBay at any given time. I’m surprised how seldom it comes up for sale sealed. My question is, is this an outlier or the value it should be?
  16. Why didn’t we get an Adventures Of The Gummi Bears video game? With such a long list of Capcom Disney games, I find it odd. I loved the show as a kid and would consider it one of the the big 4 Disney cartoon series (Ducktales, Chip’N Dale, Talespin, Gummi Bears).
  17. Good question! I guess it depends. I refuse to watch anything with Jane Fonda or anyone who supports her. Same when I hear celebrities getting super woke and preaching to average people. I like MJ’s music but also think he was a creepy dude who was abused as a kid. Idk if he abused kids, but being found innocent doesn’t mean he didn’t do it (OJ Simpson for example). Mike Tyson is another example. He was a womanizer and convicted rapist. Obviously a mentally unstable dude and not a good person. I enjoy his fights and the video game. When I found out Mel Gibson was removed from being in the Hangover 2 because the cast wouldn’t work with him, I had to roll my eyes. They had no problem working with Tyson in the first movie. Ive learned to not follow celebrities on social media. It’s easier to separate the art from the artist and not be distracted by their stances on things. Sometimes though, it’s impossible to ignore and warranted.
