  1. The Zombies Ate My Neighbors variant. It was $500 ish for years and I couldn’t justify it. As it crept up to $1,000 I realized if I didn’t get it then it would be too expensive. I finally decided to put out an open offer of $1,500 for a good copy and got 0 responses. Good condition copies dried up on eBay for almost a year and now they’re selling for $2,500-$3,500 plus in good condition for a cardboard box. I’m out.
  2. I’ve had mixed results with truly rare or obscure stuff. My advice is to do your research and ask around. Talk them up, add 50% to whatever you think it’s worth and be prepared for them to come back with a counter offer of double that (minimum). I’ve had times when the seller reached out to me and sold said item way under what I thought it was worth. It’s an emotional roller coaster, lol!

  4. This whole ordeal is gonna make a sick movie! Wolf of Wall Street meets The Big Short meets Narcos. It just needs more hookers and blow!
  5. Just came in the mail yesterday. I’ve been looking for an NTSC SNES sample cart for Zombies Ate My Neighbors for years! I came close to one in 2019 but couldn’t make a deal. This one popped up on eBay from a seller in Spain! It’s probably why they crossed out the “Ate My Neighbors” (it’s known as Zombies in PAL releases)! Now I just need the variant box to complete my ZAMN collection!
  6. Something that I’ve noticed lately is that I only get the 5% eBay bucks offers after I make an expensive purchase. What’s dumb is that it’s only good for 2-3 days. I thought that after the last one but I confirmed it today. I haven’t purchased anything on eBay in months until yesterday. Wouldn’t you know it, today I get the 5% offer. Funny how that works, lol.
  7. My 3 best in no particular order: Nothing truly rare, but more expensive stuff I got a SCAT and Contra Force in a lot of 5 consoles and 50ish games for $250 total from a Facebook sales group post. From a garage sale at the house I grew up in, my wife had to go (since I had a work meeting. I sent her there so I count it, lol) I got Earthbound in a lot with 4 or 5 consoles and a bunch of games for various consoles (70ish I think) for $100 total. Lastly, not “rare” but I got a free original Pac Man cab when I went to pick up a nice condition Centipede arcade cab from a guy. He just threw it in! Edit: All from 2016-2019
  8. Idk, you got me, what’s it called? Those piercing, lifeless eyes will haunt me in my sleep. They remind me of the skeksis from The Dark Crystal.
  9. I took a shot every time you said auction. I may have alcohol poisoning now.
  10. I disagree. That’s, why they call them first, second, and third degree burns. Lesser degree, but it still hurts. When you add in inflation, time spent, and losing out on other investment opportunities (that’s what this is at this point), you can make a “profit” and still get burned. You can “profit” on paper and still take an L.
  11. Don’t forget about the “gubment’s” cut. Would the profits fall under long term capital gains? So let’s say you take off another 20% for that. Sells for $1.56 million, you might net $1.0 million. Still pretty sweet, but for lesser grades and factoring in WATA Grading fees, some people are gonna get burned hard if there’s even a small drop in the market.
  12. I agree, it’s frustrating! I checked the PAL instruction manual to see if that version had different controls and they appear the same as the “NTSC” release. on an update!
  13. Ok, I downloaded Zombies Ate My Neighbors/ Ghoul Patrol on the Switch today. My biggest issue is the incorrect button mapping! You can’t correct it on the SNES Switch controllers but you can on the joy cons and pro controllers. Change A to X, X to Y, Y to A, B is correct. It about broke my brain trying to play it as “the Switch default” because the original button mapping is etched in my reflexes. Why would they change it? Am I just dense? Why can’t you remap buttons on the SNES Switch controllers? I wish you could at least change it in the game menu. Otherwise, it’s cool to see the interview, and fun to play in handheld mode. Dont know if this is the right category for this, but Idk where else it would go to ask.
  14. Maybe that’s why there have been pics of moldy graded games floating around? It could be that people think the games should be “watered”!
  15. Man, you would think offering more than double the going rate would draw one out. It kinda feels like no one is moving off anything at the moment! Good luck with the search!
  16. There’s a Facebook group for original video game art. They would definitely know there. I got rid of Facebook last year so I can’t exactly remember the name, but searching that should find it. Definitely cool artwork!
  17. They’re asking $47,000 but description says that they don’t know if it’s legitimate. Seems about right. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Zombies-Ate-My-Neighbors-Super-Nintendo-Entertainment-System-1993-/184767681334?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286
  18. Exactly! I get that they say you have to pay a 2% fee if the value is over $1,000. It should be based on the value the day you submit, not when they decide to get around to grading it (6 months past when it should have been). If it is for insurance purposes, how many games actually get lost and or damaged that the premiums are that high? I like what WATA was trying to accomplish and their product. Some of this stuff just seems shady and I really don’t like these manipulative auction prices based on weird nonsense.
  19. If this is a B+ seal, then what does a C seal look like? In my mind, an A to A++ is nearly perfect and a B to B+ would have small tears or scuffs. I can’t believe what constitutes a B+ seal considering how picky the grading of the actual box is. Especially since the cellophane is what makes it exponentially more valuable.
