  1. Still in full college bball mode, but I'll be gearing up to watch the Yankees come reporting time in February. Course I'll be watching for off-season deals as the winter meetings proceed.
  2. Just watched Mandy last night. Wow. What an interesting movie. Super intense, and Nicolas Cage is awesome in it. Unlike anything I've seen. If you like cults, acid trips, crossbows, demonic bikers, and revenge... I say check it out.
  3. Just finished the book. It was a fast, easy read. I have to say, though, the editor needs to be fired. The book was rife with spelling and grammatical errors. I couldn't even keep up with how many variations there were on Reggie Fils-Aimé's name. On top of that there were several fact-checking errors. I also didn't care for Ryan's smug, smartest-guy-in-the-room tone. The similes and metaphors were laughable at times. And the text is flooded with words that do little else than attempt to prove how smart the author is. Brobdingnagian? I mean c'mon. That said, it was a fun read at times. I picked up a few things I didn't know, especially about specific games. I did like the passages that explored the psychological side of things (though I assume some/a lot of it is the author's personal take). Overall, though, there wasn't a ton of new info for even casual Nintendo fans. @Reed RothchilddRothchildRothchilddRot (I don't know why his name is formatted that way; I can't delete it on mobile) hit the nail on the head that the book was general in scope. There's just too little on too much. It was funny, too. Almost all of Ryan's predictions were completely off-base in terms of Nintendo's future (the book was written in 2011/12).
  4. @Sign Collector Guy nvm, answered my own question.
  5. Nice. Was that a specific offer from somewhere? Or can you just get the free year when signing up?
  6. Hey man. I remember you. I always loved your videos.
  7. Oh it was awesome. I even grabbed a hat so I wouldn't look like an idiot lol. Everyone was dripping with maroon.
  8. We watched them play North Alabama on September 7. Montana killed em.
  9. Caught a game there when I was out that way in September. Great game and a great town.
  10. I'm a big college basketball fan. Duke's my team. Big game tonight.
  11. Yeah, got my copy. I agree with Reed. Has a very simplistic writing style. But good so far nonetheless.
  12. Can't say I fully expected that outcome. But I couldn't be happier with the result. Lamar Jackson looks to be the real deal. Seems like the Pats were so focused on Lamar that they forgot Ingram is the RB. Great win, but lotta work left to do.
  13. Awesome! Love seeing everyone making their way over here.
  14. Sometimes you imagine what someone looks like in your head... Then they turn out to be a rabbit.
  15. I'm a writer. I work for a publishing company, but I also freelance. It's what I went to school for, and it's what I love. I'll never do anything else.
  16. Some some other potential reads... Extra Lives by Tom Bissell Reality is Broken by James McGonigal Power Up by Chris Kohler
  17. The new look is pretty awful. But this my home now, so I really don't care what goes on over there. I do wish them luck, and I hope for those who stick with the new NA that they're happy. If not, they can bounce over here and chat with us. And I've said it before, but a huge THANK YOU to all the people involved in getting VGS off the ground. Couldn't be happier with how it all turned out.
  18. Wow! Epic way to greet the new forum. Stellar piece of art. Glad you were able to acquire it.
  19. I grew up in NJ. We did this exact thing. It was a ton of fun. We had to fill out a sheet with the various results. But once you were done, it was pretty much a free day.
