There’s a bunch of weird games with little or no physical release. I couldn’t find the lovely “Saturn Smash Bootleg Edition” (which is actually made with permission), but did find @JamesRobot’s one of a kind work of art version of the game. Stuff like that is very cool and very legal.

On the topic of unobtainable things, anyone feel like collecting one thing now means probably shutting yourself off to other things in the future? My old plans would be like, oh after I get my Saturn wants, I'll do SNES, then 32X sometime in the future. Now my thoughts are more along the lines of, OK it will probably take my the rest of the year to get my Saturn wants, how many SNES wants does that mean I give up and does that mean I'm realistically never buying the 32X games? Prioritizing feels real important in this era.

If it's just for the money in this era of free money, why not just YOLO 10 grand into cryptocurrency instead of paying all time high prices for a game and the added risk of shipping, customs, buyers, etc. If anything is going to insta-flip for 20k premiums, it would probably be something in mint condition or an early print, not a basic bitch pidgey Pokemon Blue!

What video game store even has a no returns policy? Shouldn't the benefit of buying from a retail establishment and not XxRetroTreasures420xX be that a store has a reputation to maintain and would stand behind what they sell?

Ha, that's the last con I was at before the world ended, so I constantly think about other things I could've bought while there. I was picking and choosing near mint $30 Game Boy and VB games like a princess instead of just buying whole lots.

I know it's just beating a dead horse, but man these prices am I right. It's like these people just search for "Grand Theft Auto Sealed" or "Spider-Man Sealed" or "Popular Movie Sealed" and it doesn't matter at all if anyone cares about the game, what version of the game it is, whether it has any relevance, whether it's a garbage game or port... If it has shrink wrap... to the moon! You might as well pay $600k for the GBA port of Super Mario Bros. Get your Dragon 32 copy of Frogger while you still can. After all it says Frogger, and people have heard of Frogger, so it must be collectible!

Yeah, I’m fomoing like Japanese computer games and Apple II stuff, not getting caught up in nonsense black box and Pokemon hype. It’s not that I think they’ll increase in value anytime soon, but if they ever do I’ll always have the “I wanted that when it cost nothing!” feeling looming over me. Realistically I have more than I could ever want. I could spend the rest of my life cleaning, organizing, catalogging, and playing.

Old RPGs like Temple of Apshai and Pool of Radiance. I want to play them for the history, but man some 40 year old games like RPGs and strategy games just seem tremendously tedious.

One of the biggest consoles I basically have no experience with. I never knew anyone who had one and I've only played them at conventions. I do need to get one eventually since they're still readily available NOS and the state of emulation isn't great, so it seems like one of the consoles most worth physically owning. But I mean it's Jaguar so And as cool as Tempest 2000 is, probably the game I've played most since it's always the game in the console, I've played a lot of Space Giraffe which feels like a superior successor in a lot of ways. Space Giraffe just isn't as well known because it's not the one beloved game on a console mostly devoid of beloved exclusive games.

I mean the GTA Trilogy set is more expensive because people are grading the games and getting $100s, there are still tons of them. I have a friend who is 0% involved in the whole Wata scene and I told him to crack and grade them a joke and he's done it multiple times and made profit. It really makes no sense. I constantly stand befuddled at what people are willing to pay for mundane/poor/incomplete things in a Wata case, but there's not much I can do besides buy the things I think are cool while gawking at people buying things I think are strange. If you tried to "educate" people to think how most people do you'd be on Facebook all day telling people to stop buying box set components, Majesco games, Players Choice games for not nearly enough of a discount over original labels, etc.

Sonic Mania is so good! (Sonic Heroes is pretty good too, just don't tell anyone I said so)
